Oldie Moldie Monday

Today my Oldie Moldie post is this paper from Echo Park Paper Company.  It may be a collection from last year - but I know it is not bought recently so it qualifies.

The card is based on the weekly sketch from Card Positioning System.  This will be the last month for Card Positioning System.  It is time for the creator to move onto to other things in her life.  Good luck to her and thank you for all the wonderful sketches that have been posted on this site.

Card Positoning Systems, Operation Write Home meet Oldie Moldie Monday

My first card for Oldie Moldie Monday (I really am getting sick of this paper - but it has made some great cards - so I will keep using it up) - was for a challenge on the Penny Black blog to do mini cards - this card is 3 3/4 x 2 3/4 - I think.  The white is embossed with a cuddlebug embossing folder and the sentiment is embossed with white Hero Arts embossing powder (fine detail).  The stamp is from Penny Black - you will see the entire stamp on a card below.

Here is the full version of the Penny Black stamp.  Isn't he just the cutest little snowman.  I found another version of him - that one is holding some presents.  The sentiment is also from Penny Black.

This card is based on the sketch from Card Positioning Systems.  I am also going to enter it in CAS-UAL Friday where the challenge is to use embossing - all three cards would qualify for that challenge.  On this card - I used an SRM Sticker for the sentiment.  Here is the sketch from CPS - I just moved the circle element up so I could add a sentiment below.  The penguin is from Whipper Snapper Designs.

The last two cards will go into my next Operation Write Home box.  These two cards will bring smiles to many people.  I sure hope they like purple and bright pink.  Pop over - we are having a month long birthday celebration - lots of fun.

Gee maybe next Monday - I could make another card out of this paper.  I made three of the mini cards for holiday cards - so I do need to line them but that won't take too much paper.

Oldie Moldie Monday

Oldie Moldie Monday - time to show some love for your old supplies.  It is time to make fall cards for Operation Write Home.  I found two sheets of double sided paper - Heidi Grace Designs.  Great fall colors. I did add some cardstock to help finish off the cards.  This card is based on the sketch at Card Positioning System - a great sketch for lots of layering.  The burgundy cardstock is actually a premade cardbase but I cut it apart to use it for matting on this groups of cards.  Here is the sketch.

I made three more cards out of the paper - OK - two sheets used out of my extensive collection of patterned paper.  Come back next week - I already know what I am going to use.

Stampendous, Operation Write Home and Card Positioning System

More monkeys - thank you Stampendous for having your summer challenge - love happens every season.  Or so I have been told.

The midweek challenge at Stars and Stamps - Operation Write Home's card blog - is to make an anniversary card.  Although this does not say Happy Anniversary - I think it could be used for an anniversary card.  Who doesn't love two monkeys holding hands.

The card is based on the weekly sketch challenge at Card Positioning System.  Of course  on my card the big circle is my heart and the small circle on the sketch is a rectangle on my card.

I used the great colors in my Momenta pack I found at Tuesday Morning.  An SRM Sticker finishes off the card with a love sentiment.

Enjoy your Thursday - or is it Monday - weird work week - but 2 day work weeks are good.

Card Positioning System, SRM Stickers and Operation Write Home

A quick post to start my day.  This card is based on the weekly sketch from Card Positioning System.  When you look at the sketch you can see I moved my sentiment down rather than overlapping the doily.

The paper is from an 8 x 8 pad from Making Memories.  The doily is from Martha Stewart and the sentiment sticker is from SRM Stickers.  The card will go in my Operation Write Home box.

Cosmo Cricket, Card Positioning System, humor and Operation Write Home

Second post on a Sunday - I wanted to do some posting of a humor card I made after being inspired by the "Make Em Laugh" bloghop on Operation Write Home's card blog Stars and Stamps.  Did you go and follow along on the hop with all the different companies - it was such fun - I had a good giggle at each hop along the way.  Many of the companies were offering a chance to win something by posting a humorous card.  I based my card on the sketch at Card Positioning System - I love layers. 

I did change the oval to a circle - I knew I wanted to use this funny image - every time I use this stamp - I smile - looks like a bad hair day to me - or you could have been scared straight - or that is your style. 

The paper is from the 6 x 6 pad from Cosmo Cricket - Tea for Two.  It has such pretty colors and prints in the grouping.  6 x 6 pads are great because the designs are smaller and work so well on cards.  The sentiment was computer generated.  The stamp is from a designer in Wisconsin - Chris - who coordinates the Stamp show held in Madison in November.

Card Positioning System and My Mind's Eye

I need some birthday cards next week so I have one made.  I used the great sketch at Card Positioning System this week for this card. 



On Saturday I got my new stamps from Unity Stamps and this bicycle and sentiment were part of my purchase - it seems like most of the stamps are for Operation Write Home cards but this one will be great for some of my personal cards also.  I used papers from the 6 x 6 pad Miss Caroline from My Mind's Eye.  Such pretty colors. 

Did you notice the boo boo - I had to add a strip for the sentiment - I tried to stamp it on the base but it was not straight so I had to restamp and cover it up.  Grrr - I should have known better than try this.

Well come back tomorrow - I actually have my card made for tomorrow - it is a Christmas Card for Operation Write Home.  Never too late to start that. 

American Crafts, Hero Arts and Card Positioning System Unite

I needed a special thank you card for my friends who I visited in Florida.  It was a wonderful break from winter in Wisconsin and work. 

I had gotten the 6 x6 pad Dear Lizzy by American Crafts.  Luscious colors and designs.  But (don't tell anyone) when it comes to 6 x 6 pads - I am so easy - I have only met a few that I have not purchased.  The sentiment is from Hero Arts (Year Round Sentiments) a clear set that was done in partnership with Operation Write Home (a cause very dear to my heart).  The flowers are also a Hero Arts stamp but I don't have the name of that set. 

The design is based on this week's sketch at Card Positioning System.

The flowers were stamped with VersaMark and clear embossed.  I then cut each one of them out.  I layered them with a Prima flower and Maya Road brad holding them all together.  They were pop dotted with Scotch dimensional tape.  The sentiment is also pop dotted.  I added a little glitter with a Sakura Stardust pen.

Another CPS sketch and the last valentine card of the year

My last valentine card for this year - this was sent to my oldest daughter and her husband.  Since she is not a fan of the color pink - I went with very non traditional colors - this card is based on Day 3 of the CPS 5 Year anniversary.  I move the sentiment to the other side and added lots of layers - what else is new for me.  I do love layers.

The monkey stamp is by Stampendous and the paper by Echo Park Paper Company. 

I do wish I could have done all the sketches but was busy doing other things.

Eat Cake Graphics and Oldie Moldie Monday

Meet Oliver - a cutie from Eat Cake Graphics - with his little paw in the air - I feel like he is probably saying "High Five" - my granddogs can do that.  Can your dogs do that.  I was babysitting one week end and I decided little Londyn needed to learn how to do "High Five" - she wasn't a year old yet - and by the time Mom came - she knew how to do High Five. 

It is Oldie Moldie Monday - so I dug in my paper - actually I just went to where those 6 x 6 Basic Grey pads are and grabbed one and started making this card - I have started to really like to create with orange.  Normally I like to create several cards for Oldie Moldie Monday - but too much on my plate right now - plus I was playing all week end with Operation Write Home and their virtual card making party.

This card is based on the sketch at Card Positioning System - it is part of their 5 year anniversary celebration.  This is the sketch from Day 9.

Card Positioning System Anniversary Pary

The final push to get my own valentine cards made - I have to put the insides in 4 and still make one - so I think I am doing pretty good - I hope.  This card design is based on Day 13 sketch on the Card Positioning Systems 5th Anniverary celebration - This card is for my Mom - her favorite color is pink so - of course - the card had to be pink.

The paper I used is by Authentique - this particular grouping had just the right colors for the valentine card.  My other loves flowers so I choes to cut my heart where the roses were.  I highlighted them with a Stardust pen to give them some sparkle.  I also used a Martha Stewart Doily.  I added a SRM Sticker and the card is finished - well almost - I need to do the inside yet.

Happpy Sunday - today I need to accomplish so much - first load of laundry is washing - going to bake a dessert and then when I go into town to get a few groceries and last minute things for my trip - I will pick up some hart shaped pizzas for my neighbors and deliver them with the dessert for Valentine's Day.  $6 for a gift for a family - not too shabby - plus dessert - they will love it.

More CPS and OWH challenges

Time to start on my next box of cards for OWH - I sent a box of 63 cards off today.  This card is based on the sketch at Card Positioning System - they are having a 5 year anniversary celebration - OWH is also having a virtual card party/challenges - and the challenge was to use a ship - of course I have made all those sticker cards in this last week - but I found one boat stamp in my collection which I embossed with some navy embossing powder (fits the next challenge on OWH) - I have no idea who makes the stamp - It really isn't a ship more like a dinghy.  I do like how it turned out though..

Valentine Day Cards

Ok Valentine's Day is next week so I do need to send a few - gee - how long does it take to get mail to Alaska - my youngest now lives there - hopefully it gets there sometime next week.

The image is the Friday Freebie from Dustin Pike.  Isn't it cute - made making the cards so fast.  I had this great set of paper from Die Cuts With a View - but it has glitter so I won't use it for my Operation Write Home Cards.

The first card is based on the 14th day sketch at CPS's five year anniversary. 

Well gotta go - need to get to the post office - I have a 2 hour window here in my little town - and need to clear the sidewalk.  Have a wonderful day.

CPS and OWH Challenges Unite

A card I made - covers a few challenges - first is Day 6 sketch on Card Positioning System - celebrating 5 years.  Congratulations.  Also Operation Write Home is having a virtual card making party - two new challenges each night - this card first two of the challenges - tropical colors (pink, yellow and green) and birthday card.  I used my Silhouette to cut the lattice work - new designs this week and just perfect for a cardmaker.  I just bought one set - (4 in the set) wanted to see if I liked them - guess what I llike them.  I stamped a Hero Arts flower in VersaMark and embossed with clear embossing powder and then layers a couple more flowers to add some depth.  One flower was cut with the Silhouette.

I do need to make valentine cards.

Stampendous Belated Birthday Wishes

Good Sunday morning - are you ready to watch the super bowl or the commercials?  I will listen to it and pay closer attention to the commercials.  Since the Green Bay Packers are not playing, it does not mean as much to me.

My card today is based on one of the sketches from Card Positioning System - they are celebrating their 5th anniversary - with 15 days of sketches - this sketch is from Day 2.  The challenge from Stampendous this month is to use texture.  I have added texture with an embossing folder and have pop dotted the image and sentiment. 

The stamp is from Stampendous and the birthday sentiment is from SRM Stickers.  Of course, I had to add a little bling because every little girl loves bling and Molly's favorite color is purple.

Lawn Fawn and Basic Grey

I love the saying on this stamp from Lawn Fawn - a perfect stamp for an Operation Write Home card.  I knew I wanted to use a paper that resembled a map and Basic Grey had this great paper which had some nice colors to compliment the design.

The first card is based on the sketch from Card Positioning System.  I used a circle in the middle rather than a rectangle.  I added dry embossing to the strip behind the circle. 

The second card is based on the sketch from Operation Write Home Stars and Stamps blog.  The little strips are paper I trimmed off the map paper (double sided).  It worked perfectly. 

I hope you enjoyed today's cards.  If you want to do something that makes you very happy, start making cards for Operation Write Home.  They are guaranteed to bring smiles to many faces.

Basic Grey and Card Positioning Systems Unite

I needed to make a thank you card for a friend who I visited in Florida while I was on vacation.  This cute little stamp was sitting on a shelf asking to be inked - and it says it all.  I wanted to use the sketch from Card Positioning Systems.  I dug through my huge collection of 6 x 6 pads - I have many - and many are Basic Grey and thought I should use this one. Orange has become a favorite color of mine to use for card making.

It feels good to make some cards - now tonight I am going to see if I can make a card without a sentiment - the currently midweek challenge on Operation Write Home.

Oldie Moldie Mummy

It is Monday - time to show some love to some old paper you have sitting around.  I needed to get a couple Halloween cards made so I had colored this mummy - easy to color - like snowmen.I honestly don't think the majority of this paper is that old - last year but the black on the card - is very old.  I don't make too many Halloween cards.

The card is based on the weekly sketch from Card Positioning System.  A very versatile sketch.

Fabulous Friday

Why is Friday fabulous - because I am home - it is almost over. Now to conquer Saturday and come out on the successful side.

Tonight's card is an anniversary card for one of my daughter's - I have no idea how many years it has been. Both my daughters got married the same year.

The card is very loosely based on the sketch at Card Positioning System - loosely. The paper is from Fancy Pants Designs. Fun colors. The sentiment is a free digi from Doodle Pantry - I have a couple more sentiments of theirs I am excited to use.

Sunday I hope to relax and spend some time enjoying some paper therapy. I do need to mow my lawn but it is suppose to be raining - Monday I will have to make hay. Everyone enjoy your evening and I hope Sunday I have some cards to share - I do know what Monday's oldie moldie Monday card will be.

Yeah - it is Friday - for a short week - it was really long. I am glad I have a couple days to regroup, hopefully do something creative and watch the Packers win.

I needed a thank you note for some special people at work so I used the sketch from Card Postioning System. I love this thank you stamp and this paper collection from Kaiser Scrapbooking is so warm and has such soft colors.

Very cold in Wisconsin so need to stay warm.
