Hump Day Wednesday

More work in the yard today - I now have a dirt bike race track around my house and the neighborhood kids are loving it - best ever I was told by one young man. Kids have to have fun and get dirty.
Another card for my snowman set. Same papers as the other snowmen cards - the stamp is by - can't find it right now - when I find it - I will share the name.
Everyone enjoy your evening.

The Deck is Gone

I am embarking on the road of some remodeling - so tonight I come home and go to open the patio door and "the deck is gone". Wow - that was a surprise. I was expecting the retaining wall to be gone not the deck. I will have pictures to post later. I will be much poorer but I think I will be good on the outside until I am longer in the house. It is exciting but scary. Next week - new flooring in the bathroom and bedroom (my bedroom) and all new accessories. I wish the bedroom furniture fairy would drop a new bedroom set off also.
The card I am sharing tonight is a wedding card for Liz and Gary - the wedding I attended this week end. I like how it turned out. Liz will like the bling.

My Goodness - where did the week go

I can't believe it is Wednesday and I have not posted all week. I was gone over the week end so did not get any cards made on the week end. I had my 40th class reunion - oh my - how did 40 years pass so pass - seems like it should just be 39 years. Busy still shopping and getting estimates for the remodel on parts of the house. Flooring - ugh - getting close to a decision and I want to do it week after next - I want my house back in some order.

This is the first card in a set of 6 cards I am making for a auction to support my friend Shari in her fight with cancer. The card is based on sketch 24 at CardPatterns (new sketch every Saturday).

More Stimulation of the Economy

Friday - the best day of the week - even better when it is a day off from work and you go shopping. Happy Happy Happy. Went shopping with two friends - visited a couple quilt shops - did you know that Basic Grey designs are now in fabric - I saw the Christmas line - beautiful - it is put out by Moda - check it out. I sewed for many years so fabric still talks to me. I bought one little piece which I think will be great fall cards. We went to the home store for Whipper Snapper Stamps - boy was I in trouble. I have lots of fun coloring coming up.
My card is based on the sketch at 2 Sketches 4 You - Laura's Sketch 30.

Stimulate the Economy

Day off of work and I am heading out to do some shopping with a friend - I guess we will stimulate the economy a little - every little bit helps. Have no idea where we are going either - I am doing this again on Friday - but know we will be hitting some craft stores on that day - oh boy. Not that I need anything.
Silly little card that I sent last week - Mr. Monkey is hiding on the inside. I knew this would make my friend smile -
Well must go and get myself dressed. Everyone have a wonderful day.

Another work week about to begin

I still want a 3 day week end - every week end - I guess I have one this upcoming week - I am taking off Wednesday and Friday of this week to spend some time with friends - looking forward to that. I got my bedroom and bathroom painted this last week end - my youngest daughter came home to help so that really helped lots - next step is to find new carpet for the bedroom. Maybe I will go look tomorrow night. Need to also get new flooring for the bathroom, new light, towel bars, shade and make a valance.

Did not get to spend too much time paper crafting this week end. I got one card made today - my weekly monkey card for my friend. Something to make her smile each week while she goes through this rough patch in her life. The card is based on the weekly sketch at Card Positioning System - Sketch 124 - I flipped the card the other way.

Good Monday Evening

Survived the first day back at work after a long week end - almost got through my e mail - almost being the operative word.

I need to go do "stuff" so don't have much to say tonight - but I did want to share the card I made yesterday for the sketch on Card Positioning Systems (CPS Sketch 123) It was a fun sketch - and now everyone sit down - this card is not needed until August sometime - of course - ask me if I have made the card for my friend who has a birthday in June - big NO - on that one. It is hard to make a card for another cardmaker - especially someone as talented as Ivanka - if you have never checked out her blog - the link is on the side her on my blog. Our Creative Corner's weekly challenge is to make a card red, white and blue - and this card qualifies.

This card opens backwards - tradition for this family that their cards open like this - first one was an accident and now they all are created in the same manner.

6 “ square card
Bo Bunny Paper
Hero Arts Stamp colored with Copics with some Stickles added to Cherry
Ribbon – recycled
Some sewing on the machine

Everyone have a wonderful evening.

Holiday Week End

The week end is past and tomorrow I have to go back to work but I am only working 4 days - I think I can make it. Next week end my daughter is helping me paint my bedroom and bathroom - so I have lots of prep work to do to get ready. I have found all the accessories - but now I need to get the walls ready and tape and cut in the edges for her. Oh my goodness - lots to do before Friday.
My card tonight is based loosely upon the sketch at Card Patterns - Sketch 22. I needed to make a sympathy card for a co worker whose sister lost her battle with ALS. This card will be from all of us in the office.
Patterned Paper - Pink Paislee
Trim and ribbon from my vast supplies
Rub On - Deja Views
Added acrylic paint on the edge of large piece of patterned paper
card size 5 x 7
Everyone enjoy what remains of your evening.

A Day of Vacation

Aren't vacation days lovely and I have two more this week. Yeah. Of course, you never accomplish much - but - that is OK. I am working on redoing my bedroom and bathroom so I have been hitting the stores looking for shower curtains, drapes, paint - I have the bedspread - so don't have to worry about that. It has not been updates for as long as I have lived in the house - also looking at new flooring. Oh my. But it will be well worth it when it is all done.

My card today is for some young people who worked in our office while they were in college, got married and now have had their first child. It was such fun making this card for them. It is based on the sketch at2 Sketches 4 You. A very fun versatile sketch - of course - I had to add all my layers.

Stamp – Bella colored with Copics
Basic Grey paper
One Heart One Mind Rub On
Ribbon from Michael’s
Eyelet from the stash
Brad – Target $1 bin
Flower – American Crafts

Everyone enjoy the remainder of your day.

American Hero

4th of July is coming and I wanted to send a card to my friend's husband who was wounded in Afghanistan. Our troops and their families are our American heroes. Say a prayer and thank you to them every day.
My card is oversized - I believe it is 6 x 12.
Everyone enjoy your evening.
