Oldie Moldie Monday

It is Monday, time to show some love for your old supplies.

I am trying to use up a 6 x 6 pad.  I made who of the floral cards and one of the striped paper.  The sentiments have also been in my stash for quite awhile.  These cards are for a foster care home in South Carolina.

Remember to show some love for your old supplies.  They still make great cards.

This layout is from the February Sheetload of Cards.  I love that beautiful plaid paper with the striped paper.

Oldie Moldie Monday

It is Monday, time to show some love for your old supplies.

I am sharing a Christmas card.  I have had this pad of paper for some time.  I cut strips off each design and layered them at an angle across the card front.  I added this large beautiful snowflake and a simple sentiment to complete the card.  The background was embossed with a snowflake embossing folder - which is old also.

Happy Little Stampers March Stencil Challenge

The Happy Little Stampers creative teams are back creating after a short break after the holidays.  This post focuses on the Stencil Challenge where Anything Goes.

I am trying to get ahead on making my holiday cards for 2023.  Stencils are one of the fastest ways to make cards.  On this card, the background was made with gesso on newsprint and then you watercolor over the top.  No background is ever the same.  It is an easy and fun technique to try.

The stencil is from A Colorful Life.  I die cut the design with a large circle and mounted it on a shimmer background paper.  A sentiment and some die cut snowflakes completed the design.

Here is a close up of the circle design with the snowflakes and sentiment.

Please join us.  Get out your stencils and make some beautiful cards.

Happy Little Stamper's March Christmas Challenge

Happy Little Stamper's is back with challenges for 2023 after a short creative break.  We are ready to get you started on your Christmas cards for this year.

As always the Christmas challenge is Anything Goes  but we do have an optional twist.  The optional twist for March is Candy Cane.

No candy cane for me this month.  I have been bitten by the stitching bug and Spellbinders makes it so easy with their dies.  The stitching does not take too long on this design.  I used red and green embroidery floss and then the little flowers are done with gold metallic thread (ugh).  I cut the letters out of a gold cardstock.  It was layered on a red embossed panel, matted with more gold cardstock and put on a kraft card base.

Wow what a bad photographer I am or I need a new camera.  Here is a close up of some of the stitching.
and the gold letters.  I found out you need to make sure your letters are all laid the same way or your lines do not go the same direction.

I am continuing to stich more of these cards and will go to very very close family and friends.

Happy Little Stamper's March Birthday Challenge

It is March and your design teams from Happy Little Stampers have enjoyed their break and are back to inspire you with their wonderful creations.

It is time for the March birthday challenge.  The theme is always anything goes.  You know you have birthdays that need cards and this is a great way to get your cards made ahead of time.  My card share for today is actually for a birthday in October - please don't ask if I have the cards made for March and April.

I was playing along with Junk Journal January and I needed to do something with the prompt of sewing.  I went into my sewing room (aka junk room currently) and sat down and pondered what would I do.  I found these cute panels that I had planned on making cards out of.  I took one of the panels and stitched it and added it to my Junk Journal but I wanted to keep stitching so made this panel and it became a card.

Slow stitching is wonderful because it does not have to be perfect and my old eyes cannot stitch perfect anymore.  After the stitching was complete, I matted the stitched image with brown and turquoise cardstock.  A coral cardstock and a cardstock stripe completed the matting.  Everything was added to a kraft card base.

Here is a close up of some of the stitching.  The stitching has been very therapeutic.
