Blah Blah Blah

I hang out at a site and every month we do a "same image" swap - this is the image we received this month. I believe it is a Whippersnapper design (a Wisconsin company). I colored it with Copics and Prismacolors - did not have a green that worked for the creature - I also colored the sentiment with the same color. Stickles were added to the eyes and wings. The sentiment stamp is Stampabilities (I think). Paper by Adorn It. I need to go clean - I may have company tomorrow night.

The Stork has Arrived

Well the stamped image of a stork has arrived. I have had this image for awhile - it is from a set from Gina K - it was a set where part of the proceeds went to Diabetes - a disease my mother battles every day. Check out her different stamps at her web page - or check out her blog - or how about checking out Stamp TV - a site she founded. And I am very proud to say she lives in Wisconsin - actually about 30-40 minutes away - I have been to her store and even taken a Copic coloring class from Jessica. Great fun.
Stamp - Gina K Designs
Colored with Copics
Cut out with Nesties
Paper - Making Memories
Punch - Martha Stewart
Trim - May Arts
You would think grocery shopping would be a safe haven from scapbook supplies - but no - near the photo center - my store has scrapbook items and this is where I found this punch I have been secretly coveting. I also bought some Marvy purple ink which was on sale.
Everyone have a wonderful day - I am off to a conference tomorrow and then taking a co worker shopping and dinner at Red Lobster. Yummy.

10 Little Monkeys Jumping ....

on the bed ..... do you remember your kids singing that song - I can remember my youngest doing it with the neighbor boy Kyle - every time I hear that song I think of the two of them playing together. Fun memories. I watched Kyle when they started kindergarten and put him on the bus for several years after that. I think he now has 3 or 4 kids - I wonder if they sing that song.
I have started sending cards weekly to a friend who is going through a very rough time in her life and for some reason - we have a monkey theme - I think I am going to be amazed how many monkey stamps I have. But at least they will be inked - if they have never been inked before. I know she will appreciate them.
This card is based on the sketch at Taylored Expressions - she has a sketch challenge each Friday. Very fun sketch this week. I even have the inside finished and I am even going to address the envelope so it can go in the mail next week.
Stampendous stamp
Stamped with Memento Ink (brown)
Colored with Copics
The center of the flower says thank you so we hid that with a flower.
Paper - Girl Friday by Cosmo Cricket
Everyone have a good end of the week end - I still have laundry, housework, etc. to do - I also need to get a card made for a baby shower on Tuesday so want to get that done tonight - I have everything picked out in my head.

Bright and Cheerful

How about a bright and cheerful card on a wet rainy day in Wisconsin - we have had rain the last few week ends - ok - better than snow - but sunshine on a week end would be great.

Creative Corner's Saturday challenge is to use a favorite color combination. This soft blue color seems to be my new favorite colors for spring - I have bought 4 tops in various shades of this blue - returned one for a bright pink sweater and the other top is more teal than blue. I love the addition of the bright pink and green.

This card is for a special person to cheer her up -

Paper - Basic Grey
Stamp - Stampendous
Colored with Copics
Stickles added to patterned paper
Flowers from various companies

Enjoy what remains of your Saturday - I have been cutting some die cuts for a friend so have been busy all evening. Sunday brings grocery shopping and home housework - YUCK - and hopefully a card or two.

Sketches - gone astray

Isn't it amazing how you start with a sketch and it takes it's own twists and turns - but that is ok - at least you had a starting point. The sketch is from 2 Sketches 4 U. It has lots of the same design but then the gears had their own creative ideas.

One of my boss's is retiring - great boss - so I am planning a retirement card a week for him - starting soon - I have the first one started - just need to finish the inside - Gearing Up For Retirement. He loves his tools, duct tape, and WD40.

Paper - Kaiser Scrapbooking
Chipboard gears - Maya Road spray painted with silver Krylon Paint - color did not pick up well
Sentiment - computer generated.
Strip of chipboard covered with duct tape

Stay tuned for the remainder of the month for more masculine retirement cards.

Wonderful Wacky Wednesday

Well we have made it through Wednesday and are on the downhill slide to the week end. Who agreed for me to work on Saturday - oh yeah - me - but the extra money comes in handy. I won't like it on Saturday but when the extra check comes - yes - it wasn't so bad.
Today's card was based on the sketch from Card Positioning System. It was a fun sketch to do - this is my start on my Mother's Day cards - I send my Mom a card every day of that week. Gives her something to look forward to.
Paper - Bo Bunny
Stamps - Hero Arts - flowers are from an acrylic set and the butterfly is a wood mount
American Crafts chipboard letters
Folk Art Acrylic Paint
Fiskar's Border Punch
Bling - Darice
Stickles
It started as a 5 x 7 card but decided to trim it down so the diagonal design could hang over the edges. Like the look of that. I distressed the paper with acrylic paint. The letters were dabbed with acrylic paint so the white still shows through. The images were stamped on patterned paper and cut out. The butterfly was bent slightly so it would be dimensional and after after the Stickles - it curled even more - love the look - it will go into the envelope flat and when she take it out the butterfly will become dimensional.
Everyone have a wonderful evening - I have another sketch to do - I have the paper and elements all together - now can I get it all to come together in one night. Come back tomorrow night and see.

Tuesday - not much else to say

What can I can - it was Tuesday - some ups and some downs. Wednesday brings another day. This is another image from that digi artist that I can not locate yet - but isn't this the cutest little bee. Colored with Copics. The wings and rain drops have Stickles on them. The sentiment is a Hero Arts. Dew drops colored with my Copics - first time - I have a whole bottle of the clear ones so expect to see more. The paper is Basic Grey.

I found the digi artist - it is Dustin Pike - check out his fantastic designs.

Thanks for stopping by.

Spring - Winter

Our spring lasted 3 days - we have snow in our forecast again but spring returns again later in the week. Wait a minute in Wisconsin - and the weather will change.
I needed to make a birthday card for a co worker's granddaughter - she loves horses - hopefully she likes purple horses. My inspiration was the sketch from CardPatterns - a new weekly sketch challenge site. It was a fun sketch. I wanted to use the birthday girls words - they are off a sheet from the dollar bin at Target - the little flowers were from the same sheet. They sparkle. The paper is Basic Grey. The horse stamp is from Studio G - colored with Copics. I used my Nestabilities and also my Fiskar's Border punch.
Everyone have an enjoyable evening.

Hang On

Hang on - hang on to your friends, hang on to your hope - just hang on. Sometimes in life - that is all we can do is Hang On - and this card is being sent to a very special friend - going through a very serious health crisis - and she needs to hang on to her friends, hang on to her hope and hang on to positive thoughts. Isn't this true about life - I know I would never have gotten through many things in my life without my friends and my hope - and always have to be positive - you can have negative thoughts for a short time and then - stop - switch to positive and move forward.
Cruising the internet tonight I found the site with this free image - I am so happy I did find it - Dustin Pike is the artist. Check out his designs.
Here is my card for my friend. The image is a digi image that you could download and of course, I did not write down the person's information and can't find it - she lives in Utah I believe and has an Etsy shop - I keep looking - and if anyone knows who the beautiful artist is - please let me know. I colore the image with Copics - still working on my coloring skills. My monkey has Stickles added to his teeth and his belly button is pierced. The paper is from One Heart - One Mind and sentiment is computer generated.
The design is based on a sketch at Taylored Expressions - she has a cupcake challenge every friday and check out her rubber stamps - she has the cutest cupcake stamps for every season - I covet these stamps.
Everyone enjoy the remainder of your Saturday - it was beautiful here this morning but now it is raining.

Where does Time Go?

Wow - over a week and no posts - I must have been busy but I didn't make any cards. I did play one day with the neighbor girl - she wanted to make cards - she had lots of fun - loves bling - and I enjoy spending time with her and watching her creative processing. Quite interestings.

I was with family for the Easter holiday and that was fantastic. The little drawing on this card was done by my great niece Elaina - she had seen this drawing once and has memorized it - I brought home a copy of the picture - made a copy on heavier weight paper and then added a little coloring to mimic her color/shading on her drawing. I told her I would make her a card - her favorite colors are green and brown.

Paper - One Heart One Mind
Hero Art Stamp

I beleive we have an up and coming artist in our family.

Everyone have a wonderful evening.

Happy Monday

Made it through Monday and onto Tuesday - well I just got started on my evening - and it is already 8:30 - I guess I won't get much done tonight. Oh well. Good thing I got some creating done this week end - the day was not too good for shooting pictures but hopefully you get the idea - I thought I had lost my Mom's Easter card - but I found it - so now I have another one -

I believe the stamp is Inkadinkado. Stamped with Memento Deep Cocoa Ink. Colored with Copics. Cut out with Nestabilities. The swirls were cut with a Sizzix die cut. I think I need to buy the Slice Card 3 which has lots of swirls in it.

This card is based on the weekly sketch at Card Positioning Systems. I hope you enjoy my take on the design - it is springy and that is what we need around here.

Have a wonderful evening.

Spring - is it ever coming?

The wind is blowing, it is is cold - and the little tulips that are trying to stick their heads out of the ground are freezing - when will spring come. We had some snow on the ground today but not much - thank goodness. Easter is next week end and I do hope that we get some nice weather.
I have been busy today trying to make some spring cards since I sold 5 of my Easter cards last week - this is a special order - kinda - I hope she likes it - if not - well I can sure use it.
The challenge at the Basic Grey challenge site was to make a Easter/spring themed card - I do belive this qualifies.
Stamps - Studio G (I think I have gotten my $value from these stamps this year)
Colored with Copics
Paper - Basic Grey - Euphoria Collection
Fiskars Border Punch - Threading Water
Paper Studio Brads
Nestabilities
Everyone have a wonderful evening and a good work week.

Recycle - Reuse

Recycle and reuse - do you recognize the little bunny - he is the wrapper around the Brach's marshmallow bunny - this is my oldest daughter's favorite Easter candy - so I bought 2 boxes - one for her and one for cardmaking. Only 3 bunnies were sacrificed in the creation of this card - they may be my favorite Easter candy also. The foil is a little hard to take a picture of - I thought she would get a giggle out of the card when she gets it in the mail. My youngest daughter's favorite Easter candy is Reese's peanut butter egg - with all my creativity - I just can't come up with an Easter card from the wrapper.
This card is based on the challenge - a sketch - at the Cuddlebug Challenge site. The challenge this week is being sponsored by Sheetload of Cards and Shortcuts. Sheetload of Cards has a sketch each month - which shows you how to cut a certain number of sheets of paper to make 4 to 6 cards from the one design. Go check out the beautiful examples - April is up.
The paper is some Basic Grey, leftovers of Fancypants. The purple paper was embossed with the Cuddlebug Embossing folder. Brads - Target dollar bin. Flowers Prima. Sentiment stamp - Studio G.
Everyone have a lovely Saturday - need to run errands - watch sports on TV, etc. Pan of brownies already baked to send to the neighbors today. Another neighbor stopped by with fresh banana muffins this morning - so those were very yummy with my coffee. I will have to take over some brownies to her and her daughter.

Friday - Yeah

Made it to another Friday - yeah and two days off and nothing really planned - catch a little tennis and basketball on TV - maybe do some shopping - cleaning (yuck) - hopefully make some more Easter cards - I took my cards to work to show some people - I sold 5 - so now I need to make a few more cards this week end.
This card is using the same paper from Wednesday's card and the same little stamp - I like the bright Easter card - a change of pace from pastel.
This card is based on the sketch at Card Patterns. This is the first time I have tried one of their sketches - it was great fun - can't wait to see what the next one is - hopefully it will work for some of my Easter cards that need to be made.
Everyone enjoy your week end.

Easter Cards continued

Easter is fast approaching - so need to get some cards made so they can be mailed next week. Of course, it is cold, windy, wet, rain, snow, yuck here. Bring on the sunshine and warm temps. We promise not to complain - well at least for a day.

I am attempting to learn how to color with Copics. Monday night I colored all night - and came out with a few images I could use - I have two chicks (I think this is a chick) that I could use - a couple pigs - and that was about it for the entire evening. I had dug out this paper grouping and wanted to use it for a bright Easter card - a change from the pastels.

This card is based on the sketch at 2 Sketches 4 You - I finally got a chance to play this week - wow - two challenges in one week and I have another one laid out - I am just enjoying creating this week.

Stamp - Imaginisce (I am pretty sure this is one of their's from last year)
Paper - Fancy Pants Designs (an older collection - I am sure you don't have any old paper)
Sentiment stamps - I don't know company - I have had them for a long time and I really like how they stamped and add just the little sentiment
Inked edges of all paper

Everyone have a wonderful evening.
