Oldie Moldie Monday

Once again it is Monday, time to show some love to your old supplies.  I wanted to make a boy card today so I found a 6 x 6 pad from Echo Park - A Boy's Life.  It has a date of 2011 on it.

The first card is for a little boy in my hometown who is battling cancer.  I am trying to send him a card every month.  My monkey stamps are guaranteed smile makers.  Thank you Stampendous for your great monkey stamps.  I used a sketch from Just Add Ink.

Here is my take on the sketch.  I did add a half circle in the upper left corner - I thought I needed a little red to balance off the card.The banner and flag were cut with my Silhouette.

Since I had another monkey stamped and colored, I wanted to make a card for my Operation Write Home Box.  I used the challenge from the Paper Players - Clean and Simple with Washi Tape.

I put my washi tape on a piece of white card stock.  I then embossed the cardstock so I know that washi tape will stay stuck on the card.  I added a Paper Smooches sentiment. I covered the sentiment mat with the red washi tape so it would match.  I know that some child will love getting this card from their parent who is serving overseas.

Remember to show some love to your old paper and supplies.  They still make great cards.

Oldie Moldie Monday

I continued to use the same paper as last Monday.  I have not put what is left away.  I don't want to see it anymore but I think I made some nice cards for my next Operation Write Home box.

And unfortunately, since blogger is not playing nice tonight, you are only going to get 2 cards.  The other three will be posted later in the week.

Day 15 What Is On Your Design Table - Oldie Moldie Monday

Actually there was a third card - but I took two pictures of the top card - I must not have my brain in working order.  It is a legal holiday so my brain does not need to kick in today.  All the cards will go in my next Operation Write Home box.

This is Echo Park paper from 2010.  Love the soft colors in it.  Actually I had a package of this paper so I probably could make some more cards.  Yes it does qualify for 'oldie moldie monday' status since it is from 2010.  I don't think it has been on my design table since then - probably just last spring.

I must confess I am getting sick of this - but I will stick it out through the month of January.  I am having to pull other products for specific cards.  I do have to get some valentine cards made.  Need to get one off to Australia.  Not sure how long the mail takes from here to there.

Oldie Moldie Monday

Busy day - I only got one card made for Oldie Moldie Monday.  This cute stamp set is from Taylored Expressions.  The paper is an old 6 x 6 pack from Echo Park.

Assisting with a Veteran's Day activity on campus.  A Cardmaking Project for Operation Write Home with the Pathway Students.  I hope we have lots to come.

I have two kits prepped.  One is 12 thank you cards - very simple ones and then 6 of another card.

Stampendous and Echo Park Paper Company

Sharing another card I made with my Stampendous penguins and Echo Park paper.  I added an SRM Sticker to complete the card along with some Doodlebug Twine and buttons made with the Martha Stewart button punch.

A Stampendous CAS Card

The month long (well till December 20) December challenge on the Stampendous blog is to make Clean and Simple Christmas cards.  I have been trying to make some more clean and simple cards and for my style - this does fall into that category - yes there is layering but there is lots of white - OK - it is snow - but it is still white.

I am so entering this card in the challenge on Simon Says Stamp challenge blog - to use snowflakes.  I do believe this qualifies.

The penguin and sentiment are from Stampendous.  The paper is from Echo Park.  This could have been my oldie moldie post for Monday - which I never got done.  The penguin and the front snow bank are pop dotted along with the sentiment.  Of course, I had to add some Stickles.  I want my snow to glisten.  I am thinking I need some red dots on the striped strip - what do you think. Now I must go quickly, add the insides along with a sentiment and get it ready to mail.

It is Monday - time to show some love to your old paper and supplies.  This is a Christmas collection from Echo Park - I believe it is from last year so not too old and moldie but not new.  Another Christmas card for this year - I let the paper do all the talking for me in this card design.

Oldie Moldie Monday - Moxie Fab Journaling Card Challenge

Moxie Fab World is sponsoring a group of challenges in honor of their new special edition - Paper Crafting Tips and Tricks.  One of the challenges is to use your journaling cards.

I knew I had this Christmas collection from Echo Park Paper Company - I don't think it is that oldie moldie - maybe a collection from last year - but I know it is not new - so it qualified for oldie moldie Monday.  Plus I know have one more Christmas card made.  Yeah.  Lots of fun layering.  I used three journaling cards on this card.  Two of the cards I matted with red to make them pop a little more.  The sentiment is pop dotted.  I added the little squares to fill in the corners of two of the cards.  I think it adds the finishing touch along with the bow.

Thanks for stopping by - and remember to show some love for some of that older paper - it is still pretty and makes wonderful projects.  I do need to retire so I can make lots of cards every day to use up my supply of paper.  I love paper.

What a Week

Has not been a good week for card making - made this card on the week end - and never even got it posted - so you know the week was not good - when you can't even find the desire to post a card you had completed.

This is a card that went in my Operation Write Home box - this box has the last of the Christmas cards in it - some general winter cards and a small mix of miscellaneous cards.  Can't you see some Hero sending this home to one of his or her kids.  Everyone loves Snoopy.

I actually made a card tonight.  Come back tomorrow to see it.

Riley the Moose Meets Freshly Made Sketches

Scootching in under the wire to post this card for the sketch on Freshly Made Sketches.  Riley the Moose was out today for some stamping.  Come back later in the week to see the other card I made with Riley and the same paper.

The mustache paper is from Echo Park Paper Company.  The matting paper is from a grouping I got at Tuesday Morning - it is from TPC Studio.  I bought the packet because it had great matting potential.  Riley was also stamped on some of this paper from TPC Studio.  A sticker from SRM Stickers completes the cards.  This card will be sent to an elderly gentleman having a few health issues.

Oldie Moldie Monday

Today my Oldie Moldie post is this paper from Echo Park Paper Company.  It may be a collection from last year - but I know it is not bought recently so it qualifies.

The card is based on the weekly sketch from Card Positioning System.  This will be the last month for Card Positioning System.  It is time for the creator to move onto to other things in her life.  Good luck to her and thank you for all the wonderful sketches that have been posted on this site.

World Card Making Day, Paper Smooches and Echo Park

One more card for World Card Making challenges.  This is for a sketch that Paper Smooches is using for a challenge.  It is a sketch from the sketch library at Operation Write Home.  Paper Smooches is a supporter of Operation Write Home in their effort to keep our service members in contact with families and friends at home.

Isn't that snowman the cutest - someone asked me how many snowmen stamps I have - I don't think I can count that high - this set has several cute snowmen on it.

The paper is a collection I have from Echo Park.  Aren't the colors pretty.  Looking at the card it looks like the snowflake is growing out of the top of the snowman's hat.

This card will go into my Operation Write Home Box - it is a general winter card so if I miss the Christmas deadline we will be OK.

So do you think I will get any more cards made tonight for challenges - I still need to make my Oldie Moldie Monday cards - I think I will this paper and maybe some more of these snowmen stamps in this Paper Smooch set.

SRM Sticker Week at OWH Stars and Stamps

SRM Stickers is sponsoring Stars and Stamps this week - their stickers are so much fun to work with and this week you will have lots of fun seeing them used in so many ways between Stars and Stamps and the SRM Sticker blog.

Today is sketch day on Stars and Stamps.  I took great creative license with the sketch because I had a set of Valentine themed stickers from SRM and you know it will soon be time to be making those Valentine cards for OWH (stay tuned all week for my Valentine cards).  The heart represents the shaped die cut at the top of the sketch (see creative license).  I used my Silhouette to cut the heart.  The paper is from Echo Park - one of my vast collection of 6 x 6 pads.

Penny Black and Echo Park Christmas Card

Penny Black is having a challenge this week end to make tags - I made the tag and entered it in their challenge on their Flicker Group - then I immediately made it into a card for the holidays.  As you can see, it is a card I will be sending to family or friends since it is rather lumpy.

The tag was cut with my Silhouette plus the little circle.  I sized the tag so it would fit on the front of an A2 sized card.  This sentiment is a new stamp I bought this year - I love the fonts and what the sentiment says.  I had first stamped it in brown ink - but it did not show up well enough so I went to the black.  Most of the patterned paper on the tag were leftover strips leftover from other packages.  I love to tear muslin strips and distress with tea or coffee.  The sentiment is pop dotted on the tag and the tag is pop dotted on the card.  One corner of the card was rounded to reflect the rounded edges of the tag.

The paper is from Echo Park's christmas collection from last year.

Lawn Fawn and Operation Write Home

It is Lawn Fawn week on Operation Write home Stars and Stamps and also on Operation Write Home week on Lawn Fawn.

They have the cutest stamps - I used this little sheep and sentiment for my card following the bonus sketch on Stars and Stamps.  It is a fun sketch to do.

The paper I used is from a 6 x 6 pad from Echo Park called This and That.  Of course, I did my usual trick of just cutting the strips of plaid, matting them and laying them on top of the full piece of polka dots.  The sheep and one bale of hay is pop dotted for a little dimension

Hero Arts and Echo Park Christmas Card

My card today is based on one of the sketches in the June Challenge on Hero Arts.  I had made a Christmas card earlier in the month and had all these strips of paper left so this card sketch seemed perfect for all those strips.  The paper is from the 6 x 6 pad - Season's Greetings - from Echo Park.  I love the vintage like colors in the pad.  I recently bought this sentiment off Amazon - it has three other sentiments with it for the holidays that are perfect for card fronts.  They will make great sentiments for cards for Operation Write Home.

Oldie Moldie Monday - Echo Park and Penny Black

It is Monday time to show some love to some of that oldier paper and supplies.  I don't know if this paper is that old - but I love the colors.  I have had the Penny Black stickers for quite awhile.  The teal paper is not old - I am loving this purchase from Tuesday Morning - great background paper for cards - so much of the patterned paper now days has tealish colors in it. 

The first card is based on the sketch at Cardabilities.  My card is very simple because it is for our heros.  All three cards are for Operation Write Home - I am trying to make my next box have masculine, regular and children cards in them.  I know these will make some heros kids smile all over their body when they get it in the mail from a parent.  The midweek throwdown at Stars and Stamps - Operation Write Home's card blog - is cute characters.  I believe these hedgehogs are so cute.  The brads are older than dirt also.  I added some sentiment stickers from SRM Stickers to complete the card.

Another CPS sketch and the last valentine card of the year

My last valentine card for this year - this was sent to my oldest daughter and her husband.  Since she is not a fan of the color pink - I went with very non traditional colors - this card is based on Day 3 of the CPS 5 Year anniversary.  I move the sentiment to the other side and added lots of layers - what else is new for me.  I do love layers.

The monkey stamp is by Stampendous and the paper by Echo Park Paper Company. 

I do wish I could have done all the sketches but was busy doing other things.

Echo Park, Moxie FAB and CAS-ual Friday Join Forces

I have a new Silhouette and the little scallop background is one of the free shapes you get with the machine - I was just playing and cut out this shape - I made it smaller so it could be used on a card.  I decided I had to use it on a card.  The card is based on several challenges - Moxie Fab to use Die Cuts and CAS-ual Friday to use scallops. 

The card uses the Yours Truly collection (6 xs6 pad) from Echo Park.  I love that houndstooth plaid - in fact - I bought a couple extra pieces of that paper.  The die cuts are the Silhouette scallop background and Spellbinders hearts.  The heart and plaid stripe are pop dotted for a little dimension.
