Valentine Card

I could not resist this moose stamp when I saw it.  My daughter lives in Alaska and they see moose all the time so I had to have it for a valentine card for her.  I made a total of 4.  Two I left with my friend Mary in South Carolina to send to her grandsons.  The other card I kept I sent to my Ganny baby along with a book I bought for her in South Carolina.

Isn't he the cutest moose in the entire world.

The post office will be kept in business for a couple more days since I was there.  Two packages and many valentine cards - $21 later.  Ouch.

Oldie Moldie Monday

It is Monday, time to show some love to your old supplies.

I have a wonderful collection of monkey stamps so decided I wanted to make a somewhat non traditional valentine card for a little boy in my home town who is battling cancer.  Every couple months I try to send him a card to maybe bring a smile to his face.

The paper is a 6 x 6 pad from Basic Grey called pb&j.  It is from 2011.

I used my Silhouette to cut the heart and the banner.  I was attempting to do a sketch challenge but it was not working so I went off on my own design tangent with my card.  If you look closely, I did some embossing with clear powder on the heart with a new background stamp I bought from Hero Arts.  The heart was a little blah - but this dresses it up.  The sentiment is from Simon Says Stamp.  The monkey is colored with Copics.

Remember to show some love to your old supplies.  They still make wonderful projects.

Valentine's Day Ensemble

So you may ask, what is a Valentine Ensemble.  My ensemble consists of a card, a candy jar (which is a recycled dressing jar) and a small bag which could be used to hold treats or a gift card.

The bright pink dots paper, solid pink paper and white paper bag are products from Canvas Corp.

I used my Silhouette Cameo to cut the circles, scalloped circles and hearts for my ensemble.  I used my Cuddlebug and a dot embossing folder to dry emboss the bag, background on card and white centers on the pink scalloped circle.  Isn't that bag cute embossed.  The embossing dresses it up.  The sentiment is a stamp from Simon Says Stamp that I won commenting on a blog hop.  I have used it so much this year on my cards.

I am entering this set in the Wednesday challenge at Simon Says Stamp where the challenge is "heart".  There are a few hearts on my project.

Well I must confess the candy jar is almost empty.  Those M&M's taste wonderful.  I hope the remainder of your Friday is awesome.

Oldie Moldie Monday

Monday - time to show some love to your old supplies.  I am continuing my posts on Monday with valentine cards using the same pad of paper.  This is my third card using this pad of paper.  The paper is from Michael's Recollection line.

I cut the base of my step card with my Silhouette.  It sure makes constructing this type of card very easy.  I recycled my card stock from commencement programs.

The image is from Lil' Inker Designs.  I stamped with black and clear embossed the image.  It really makes the image pop.  I colored it with Gelatos.  The sentiment is from SRM Stickers.  Added some ribbon and enamel dots and I have another valentine card made.

I even finished the inside with another sticker from SRM Stickers.

I am going to enter this into Addicted to Stamps Holiday challenge.

Everyone enjoy your Monday and try to show some love for your old supplies.

Oldie Moldie Monday

Monday - time to show some love to your old supplies.  It is time to make some Valentine cards - this card with be for my Aunt.

This paper is not that old.  I believe I may have bought it last year.  It is the Michael's brand.  I love the colors in it.  The bird stamp - this may be the first card I have made with it.  It is from Hero Arts.  The sentiment is a sticker from SRM Stickers.  The ribbon was a small piece in the pink box but it was just the right amount to finish off the card.

Did you see that pretty felt hard?  A fellow card maker/crafter/jewelry maker/mixed media artist sent it to me in a RAK.  I thought - that heart would be the perfect embellishment for my card and it was.

Thanks for stopping by.  Remember to show some love for your old supplies.

Happy Valentine's Day

This valentine card is for a sweet friend's mom.  Shari passed away several years ago from breast cancer and I try to remember her Mom with cards.  I know she will appreciate the old fashioned nature of the card.  Thanks for stopping by.

Happy Valentine Day

A valentine card I made and sent to a very sweet lady who lived across the street when I moved here so many years ago.  After her husband died, she moved away but we do still keep in touch.  I wanted her to know I was thinking of her and I thought she would appreciate this old fashioned valentine.  The paper is from Authentique paper.  The sentiment is from SRM Stickers

Sketch Saturday and Valentine's Day

Still working on my Valentine Day cards.  I just have a couple more cards to make and will try to get those done today.

I based the design of the card on the sketch at "Sketch Saturday".  I have been enjoying their sketches the last few weeks.  I rotated the sketch.

The paper is from a 6 x 6 pad from American Crafts - Dear Lizzy.  Love the somewhat nontraditional colors I used.  The little banners are the top edge of the paper which holds the sheet in the paper pad.  They were just the correct size for adding some layers.  The stamp is one of the holiday specials at Michael's that I bought for $1.50.  I have gotten my money's worth out of this stamp.  The enamel dots are from Michael's Recollection grouping.

Off to get groceries and then make some more valentine cards and do some laundry.  I know you are all jealous of my exciting day.  Looking forward to watching the special on the Beatles tonight.

Valentine Day and Tuesday Morning Sketches

Another Valentine Day card to share.  It is going off to two very special people.  Mom's favorite color is purple.  I wonder if Londyn likes purple as well as Mom.

The design of the card is based on the sketch at Tuesday Morning Sketches.  I stayed very true to the sketch except for adding a sentiment.  The image, from Whipper Snapper Stamps, came with its own sentiment.  This is a favorite stamp to use for my Operation Write Home cards.  It is not really a valentine stamp, well in my opinion, and I guess for me that is what counts.  Here is the sketch.

The paper is from Die Cuts With a View.  It is their Spring Mix.  They are beautiful colors to create with during this very long winter.

I am also entering it into the challenge Addicted to CAS where the code word is Love.

Now, I want to get this in the mail, but I put glossy accents on the hearts, so I need to let them dry.  Luckily the post office in Janesville is open later than our local post office.  I have a book and coloring book for Londyn to send along with the card.  I have not been out shopping with this lovely winter so I guess I will have to wait to buy a new outfit for Londyn.  That will go in her Easter package.

Thanks for stopping by.

Valentine's Day and Freshly Made Sketches

Valentine Day fast approaches so I need to get a few more cards done.  I think I will make four cards using this stamp.  The card design may vary.  "Bee"s are a favorite subject in our family since we have 4 generation of "Beas".  Molly Beatrice (grandma), Bonnie Bea (sister), Carrie Bea (daughter) and Elaina Bea (great niece).

The card is based on the weekly sketch at Freshly Made Sketches.  With their sketches they want you to be clean and simple.  I tried.  My papers are vibrant colors.  Pink is my mother's favorite color.  I do hope she forgives me for the green on the card.  She doesn't like green.  Here is the sketch.  I stayed very true to it.  I must confess it looks naked to me.
The paper is from American Crafts - Dear Lizzy.  Beautiful colors in the 6 x 6 pad.

Thanks for stopping by.

First Valentine Day's Card

This card had a ways to travel so I got it made and off in the mail early.  The paper is from Recollections, Michael's brand.  The stamp is from Whipper Snapper Designs - a Wisconsin stamp company.

Hope you are having a good week.  It has warmed up here but we are predicted to have snow today.  I am getting work under control and feel some of the heaviness lifting off of me.

Enjoy your Thursday.

Whipper Snapper Valentine Card

Just a quick share of a valentine card I made for my niece.  This is a Whipper Snapper stamp - makes a cute Valentine card but I know I will get lots of use out of it for Operation Write Home cards.

Everyone have a good Tuesday.

Be My Valentine

My sweet little teddy bear is ready to make someone's heart melt on valentine's day.  The card is based on the sketch at CAS(E) This Sketch.

Instead of a flag I kept with the scalloped circle.

Thanks for stopping by today.

Be My Valentine

I worked on a couple valentine cards yesterday.  Need to get the packages in the mail.

This cute little stamp is one I bught for $1 and I have sure go my money's worth out of it.  I still have two more colored - with little red hearts on them.  These two were colored with favorite colors of both recipients.  The top card uses new paper - American Crafts - and the bottom card is leftovers - not valentine at all but I thought it was sweet paper.  I have enough of it left for one more card of some sort - check back Monday - it may be in an Oldie Moldie Monday post.

I used SRM Stickers for the sentiment.  Some Stickles were added to each heart and some bakers twine tied on to finish off each card.

I am entering this card in the challenge on Simon Says Stamp Challenge Blog where "anything goes".  This qualifies as anything.

I am also entering this card in the weekly Shop My Stash challenge - one was to use a heart - well the second card is paper from my stash and also that stamp.

Enjoy your Saturday - I have snowblowing on my agenda - a trip to the post office and then I need to do some creating, cleaning and laundry.

Itty Bitty Cards

3 x 3 card

Moxie Fab World is having a challenge for "itty bitty cards" - the largest they can be is 3 x 3.  They have a new special edition titled "75 Creative Card Challenges" - hmmm must find this magazine.

I decided to make a little valentine card.  I bought a new paper pad at Target last night (wow I got stuff to make chili and a paper pad in the same store - how great is that).  The paper pad is from American Crafts - isn't that the sweetest houndstooth.  The stamp is a $1 stamp I got somewhere.  Added some twine and a pearl.  These little cards are fun.

Thanks for stopping by today.

Oldie Moldie Monday

My Oldie Moldie Choice today is a sheet of stickers I bought a year or two ago.  I am just sharing one card made from the sticker sheet.  If you look at yesterday's sketch card - you will see another card using a sticker from this sheet.

It is SRM Sticker week on Stars and Stamps - Operation Write Home's Card Blog.

I placed the sticker on white cardstock and cut it out.  I believe it is also pop dotted.  Placing the sticker on cardstock gives it more stability.

Everyone enjoy your day and dig out some of those supplies and show them some love.

SRM Sticker Week at OWH Stars and Stamps

SRM Stickers is sponsoring Stars and Stamps this week - their stickers are so much fun to work with and this week you will have lots of fun seeing them used in so many ways between Stars and Stamps and the SRM Sticker blog.

Today is sketch day on Stars and Stamps.  I took great creative license with the sketch because I had a set of Valentine themed stickers from SRM and you know it will soon be time to be making those Valentine cards for OWH (stay tuned all week for my Valentine cards).  The heart represents the shaped die cut at the top of the sketch (see creative license).  I used my Silhouette to cut the heart.  The paper is from Echo Park - one of my vast collection of 6 x 6 pads.

Enjoy our week with SRM Stickers and try to pick up some to use - you will be so happy.
