Oldie Moldie Monday - Echo Park and Penny Black

It is Monday time to show some love to some of that oldier paper and supplies.  I don't know if this paper is that old - but I love the colors.  I have had the Penny Black stickers for quite awhile.  The teal paper is not old - I am loving this purchase from Tuesday Morning - great background paper for cards - so much of the patterned paper now days has tealish colors in it. 

The first card is based on the sketch at Cardabilities.  My card is very simple because it is for our heros.  All three cards are for Operation Write Home - I am trying to make my next box have masculine, regular and children cards in them.  I know these will make some heros kids smile all over their body when they get it in the mail from a parent.  The midweek throwdown at Stars and Stamps - Operation Write Home's card blog - is cute characters.  I believe these hedgehogs are so cute.  The brads are older than dirt also.  I added some sentiment stickers from SRM Stickers to complete the card.

My Mind's Eye, SRM Stickers and Unity Stamps = Holiday Card

Good afternoon - good news - I survived my cold - now I need to kick it in gear and get some things done for the holidays.  Of course, I am still working on my holiday cards.  I now have another one done in some non traditional colors. 

The paper is from My Mind's Eye - their Christmas collection from this year.  fun colors.  The stamp is by Unity Stamps.  I colored it with Copics.  It is hard to tell from the picture but I chalked the white on the image so it is a lovely shade of pink.  Breaks up all that white.  There was some great patterned paper in the collection that I could have stamped on - maybe the next card I make with this paper.   I added some bling to the card also.  It is also hard to see but everything on the stamped imaged is outlined with a Stardust pen.  A great sticker from SRM Stickers finishes off the card.

Cosmo Cricket and Cardabilities Unite

Second post of the day - you can see I am working on my holiday cards and I also wanted to do the sketch at Cardabilities.  I do believe the deadline is today or tomorrow so once again I am just getting my card submitted.

This is an older collection from Cosmo Cricket - 2008 actually - I love the vintage feel of the paper.  The stamp is new - I bought it the day before Thanksgiving.  It is by TPC studio.  One color stamping - my idea of fast and fun cards. 

The sketch from Cardabilities is a very simple sketch that you could do lots with.  I kept mine very simple.  Showing off the vintage snowflakes on the patterned paper.  I did two versions of hte card.  One I centered the sentiment and just added pearls in the corner.  On the other card I decided I wanted to add a bow of some sort.  You would have thought with the millions of yards of ribbon I own I would have had the perfect brown ribbon - but now - so back to my trusty brown twine from May Arts - I think I just bought an additional 40 yards of it.  The edges of the paper were all inked to add some depth to the paper and make it look "more vintage".

Well back to creating - two more cards done - I need to go finish the inside of thse cards - I hve a sentiment that has joy in it so I will use that on the inside ofthe card.

A snowy morning greeting to you - I would say good - but I may be stretching it - although my snow blowing fairy has been through and I am dug out - even my mail box - now if the snowplows come through again - and bury me - I will be very preturbed.

Being home yesterday I did get a couple cards made for my personal use - today I must make cards for Operation Write Home - I am behind in my one card a day. This card - obviously is for Valentine's Day - it will go to a special person in my life.

the card is very loosely based on the sketch at Cardabilities. If you look closely you can see elements of the sketch in the design. I decided I did not want to cut down the scallop border I cut from the paper - so I just cut down the size of the card base and let the scallop hang over the edge. I must have been feeling rebellious yesterday. I cut out the word Love from a SRM Sticker to add a sentiment to the card.

Thanks for stopping by - today I am going to make barn yard related cards for Operation Write Home - that is their mid week throwdown - I have a few (lots) of pig stamps and of course being from Wisconsin - cows - and how about chickens - just chicken in on you.

Good Thursday evening - yeah the week end is coming - makes me happy. I am excited I am going to be taking a Copic coloring class on Saturday. I hope I learn lots - but even if I come away with a few tips to help me color or shade better - I will be very happy. I would love to see their sprayer used also. It is being held at Creative Pals in Brookfield, Wisconsin. This store has the largest collection of Whipper Snapper stamps so you know I won't get out of their without buying a couple new stamps. My card tonight uses one of their stamps.

My card tonight is based on the sketch at Cardabilities. I had bought this new packet of paper from Echo Park and it inspired me to make a valentine card. I think this card will be for my daughter who's middle name is Bea - after her Grandma Bea.
