Words of Encouragement

My weekly card for my friend with a little humor and words of encouragement on them. 

The card design is based on the sketch from Freshly Made Sketches.  Of course I moved my ribbon to the other side of the panel and used the bow as the circle elements.  Sometimes you just have to be a rebel.

The stamp is one I have had for years.  It is by American Art Stamp.  I stamped it with Colorbox Chalk Ink (Dark Brown) and just colored a couple items with Copics.  I used paper from Basic Grey's 6 x 6 pad Kissing Booth - pinks and browns are always a lovely combination - love the houndstooth.

Clean and Simple

A quick post for tonight - trying to get some quick mo jo running through the fingers.  CAS-ual Fridays has a great post to use a Sentiment on your CAS card.  I think ths qualifies.   

The background is stamped with a Hero Arts stamp (friend) with a Distress Ink.  The branch (sorry it is loose floating around my table so I don't know who makes it) stamped with Memento Ink and the sentiment is from Hero Arts and it was stamped with Colorbox Chalk Ink..  This is a CASE from one the Paper Crafts special editions but I ended up matting the background and sentiment.  The sentiment was also pop dotted. Of course, you need to add a little inking with a light brown chalk ink around the edge of everything. 

I bought a big pad of watercolor paper at Hobby Lobby to use for these card bases.  The paper will give the card a good weight.  Single layer cards scare me very much.

American Crafts, Hero Arts and Card Positioning System Unite

I needed a special thank you card for my friends who I visited in Florida.  It was a wonderful break from winter in Wisconsin and work. 

I had gotten the 6 x6 pad Dear Lizzy by American Crafts.  Luscious colors and designs.  But (don't tell anyone) when it comes to 6 x 6 pads - I am so easy - I have only met a few that I have not purchased.  The sentiment is from Hero Arts (Year Round Sentiments) a clear set that was done in partnership with Operation Write Home (a cause very dear to my heart).  The flowers are also a Hero Arts stamp but I don't have the name of that set. 

The design is based on this week's sketch at Card Positioning System.

The flowers were stamped with VersaMark and clear embossed.  I then cut each one of them out.  I layered them with a Prima flower and Maya Road brad holding them all together.  They were pop dotted with Scotch dimensional tape.  The sentiment is also pop dotted.  I added a little glitter with a Sakura Stardust pen.

I chose to do Brads, Layers and Ribbon  (my ribbon is baker's twine).

I chose to do a repeat of the Happy Birthday sentiment from Eat Cake Graphics as my focal point on my card.

I used paper from Echo Park - A Boy's Life.  Love the colors.

Oldie Moldie Monday

Once again it is Monday - time to show some love to some old supplies.  I have had this paper grouping - it seems like forever but the paper is so beautiful and such a wonderful weight - It is by Crate Paper.  I made 4 cards and still have some left - maybe next week - this paper will be continued. 

The Midweek throwdown on Stars and Stamps blog for Operation Write Home - was to use a digital image.  I believe this sentiment was created by a OWHer - but I had no note on my file - I think it makes a great card for a Hero to send home to a loved one.  The button is the Martha Stewart Button Punch.  The last card - the flower is cut on my Silhouette and I used the last two tags in the paper package.  I added an SRM Sticker to finish it off.

Dig into your old supplies - show some love for that old paper - because you know - we will be out there buying more new paper.  I do feel the need for a new paper fix.

Card Patterns, Basic Grey and Encouragement

Good morning - a quick post to share a card I made for a friend who starts her radiation treatments for breast cancer.  I had purchased a cute turtle charm with a little poem about luck when visiting in Naples, FL.  I thought the card needed to have a turtle on it also.  The cute image is from Inky Antics colored with Copics.

The card design is based on the sketch at Card Patterns.  I dug into some of my Basic Grey 6 x 6 pads and chose these luscious papers to create the card.

Everyone have a wonderful day.  I have homemade broth on the stove for future soup and have made a red velvet sheet cake to share with my wonderful neighbors who always come to my rescue.  Everyone enjoy the remainder of your week end.

Simple Stories and Operation Write Home

I had this wonderful collection of paper from Simple Stories on the design table (nice name for a messy area) from the card I made on Wednesday - so made a couple more birthday cards for Operation Write Home.  The colors and designs are so beautiful in this grouping.  It is all from a 6 x 6 pad - you know - one of my paper obsessions.

Hope you like it - now I need to do laundry, buy groceries, etc - I don't know for sure - but I may have a cold trying to break through - or that front that came through made my nose run - hopefully that was it.
