Oldie Moldie Monday

Monday - time to show some love for your old supplies.  As I was looking for something - who knows what now I found three pieces of Bo Bunny paper from the same collection.  One of the papers was a beautiful floral.  One of the other sheets was a beautiful paper for matting and one paper was great for stamping sentiments on.  I made six cards from this group of paper and they are all ready to go - the ones not on a white or cream card base are lined with coordinating paper also.

I made four of this particular design.  The location of the sentiment varies according to the placement of the flowers.

I made two of this design.

And then from the leftover pieces of all the three sheets of paper, I made this card.

I think I did OK.  So remember to show some love for your well aged supplies, they are still beautiful.  I now only have 999,996 sheets left to use.

Happy Fall

I am sharing today a very simple card that I made.  I received this stamp at Bella Crafts Connection.  It is from Gina K.  I am so happy because I love trees and leaves.  I added gesso to a book page.  The image was stamped and then heat embossed with clear embossing colors.  I colored the trees with Inkintense pencils.  The background was also done with the pencils.  The sentiment is a sentiment from SRM Stickers.

I did some digging and found the address of the hospital where the young man Chris Mintz is recovering from his wounds.  Chris is the young veteran who charged the shooter at the college in Oregon.  The card was mailed to him on Saturday.  I know several of my fellow card makers have mailed him cards also.

Enjoy your Sunday.  I am trying to get some things done in the house and then maybe I can create.

Paper Smooches Spark Challenge and Oldie Moldie Monday Collide

Monday - time to show some love to your old supplies.  I needed to make a get well card for my granddaughter.  She had to have her tonsils out on Sunday.  This is not something you want to do at any age - but at the age of 18 - it is not fun.

I decided to play the Paper Smooches Sparks Challenge - Anything Goes.

I got out some American Crafts paper that has a date of 2012 on it.  Not as well aged as some of my supplies.  I love the bright cheerful colors in the 6 x 6 pad. Teal is one of Emily's favorite colors.  I paper pieced the balloons.  After cutting out a shape that you have stamped, always run a black marker around the edge.  It gives your cut a neater finish.  The get well sticker is from SRM Stickers. The white border was cut with my Silhouette.  The yellow ribbon is from May Arts and it was just laying there on the floor waiting to be used.

I don't know if I like the enamel dots on the card but there was so much white space.

If you wish to buy your own Paper Smooches stamps, just pop over to their online shop.

Remember to show some love to your old supplies.  They do still make beautiful creations.

Happy Monday - is it Friday yet?

Watercoloring Flowers

More watercolor magic.

The first card was made by inking up the stamp with gelatos and then spraying it with water and stamping.  I got three different stampings off the one layer of gelato.  Probably not the best stamp to use but I wanted to try it - I couldn't throw any away so I did make a card.  I did color paper for the mat.  The sentiment is a sticker from SRM Stickers.

The second card - the flowers were stamped in distress ink and then when you watercolor the distress ink fades into your other paint giving you a no line look.  The card is very pretty.  I think I had 3 pearls on it but that third one is not to be seen and of course I only had 3 that size.  The sentiment is from Paper Smooches.  The flower stamp is from JoAnn Fabrics.

Well off to clean my house.

Get Well Soon

A card I made for my Mom - she is rehabbing in the hospital so try to send her a card every couple days.  This one will go out next week - it looks springy and we are in desperate need of spring.

I did this card for two different challenges - both are clean and simple challenges so hopefully this is not too busy for that type of card.

The first challenge is for CAS-ual Friday which is to use chipboard.  This is a Basic Grey chipboard piece - did not know where the coordinating paper was but luckily these colors are very popular right now so I just went into some of my 6 x 6 pads and found the paper to use.  The yellow/orange pin dot is actually the top that attached the paper into the pad.  Too cute to waste.

The second challenge is from Addicted to CAS which is things with wings.  My birdie has wings.

I added a little bakers twine and a sticker from SRM Stickers to finish off the card.  I did add a little Stickles to the wing to make it sparkle. The card was missing something - it was an eye on my bird - a little gem added the perfect eye and also was a touch of black to balance the sentiment.

Enjoy the remainder of your Saturday.
