Yeah - Saturday

Happy Saturday everyone - the sun is shining in Wisconsin and we are going to be in the high 70's - yeah. Going to enjoy my day - have a birthday party to go to and the card is made - stay tuned for Oldy Moldy Monday to see that card.

This is a Mother's Day card I made. It was published in the e zine - Ready Set Create Great little magazine (on your computer). They had one issue completely devoted to Cards - I will share the cards that were in that issue another day.

They have their call for August/September out now - deadline is July 10 - check it out - Jen is great to work with.

This card was for Mother's Day. I have learned how to photo and crop somewhat better so forgive me for this photo. Here are the details.

Patterned Paper: Hot Off the Press Use’Em for Anything Pastel
Cardstock: Prismatics by Prism Papers for a Lifetime
Inks: ColorBox Fluid Chalk Inkpad by Clearsnap, Inc.; VersaMark™ by Tsukineko, Inc.
Embossing Powder: Seafoam White by Ranger
Stamps: Stamp It
Brads: Hot Off the Press Use’Em for Anything Pastel
Flowers: Hot Off the Press Use’Em for Anything Pastel
Rub Ons: Basic Grey; October Afternoon

Idea to Note: Embossed the image on 3 different papers. The yellow paper was the base; the polka dot paper was embossed and cut out inside the lines and glued onto the yellow base. Embossed the center block, cut out and put it on top of the green squares. Cut another green print and put inside the center. Inked edges of all the paper. Added rub ons to letter. Added layers of flowers and brads.

Enjoy your Saturday.

Almost the Week End

Why do short weeks seem to go on forever? But at least we have almost made it to Friday - and I love casual Friday - can get the jeans out and wear them. That is always nice. Have been carpooling the last two weeks - saves on the gas bill. Gas has gone down to $3.89 but of course the gas station I went to - it was 3.93. Yeah!! Oh well.

This card is for a friend's birthday (pretty obvious). I don't know where the stamp is so I can't tell who the company is. The paper is a pack I picked up at Hobby Lobby on half price. It was a 4 x 6 pad - just the right size for cardmakers. I colored the image with Prismacolors. The flower is from the dollar bin at Target. Rub on is by Rusty Pickle.

Thanks for looking.

Oldie Moldie Monday and no card

You would think over a 3 day week end I could get a card made - but Friday - I was off but it was a gloomy day and I did nothing (what a waste of a vacation day) and I was on the road Saturday and Sunday - today I worked outside - absolutely gorgeous day here in Wisconsin - dug in the flower garden and had lots of help from the little ones is the neighborhood - a popsicile for labor - that sounds like a good and fair trade doesn't it. Then I spent some quality time sitting on the deck with the neighbor girl just visiting. So then I mowed most of my lawn - pooped so I don't think there will be any cards made - if so - not by the time there is still decent light.

Hope everyone had a great Memorial Day week end - back to the hustle and bustle of work but at least it is a four day week.

Happy Birthday Halley

Big week for cards and I actually have them all done for this week - we won't talk about the cards I did not get done in March and April - maybe they will like summer cards. When I need a quick card - I go to the internet and look for some images. Loved this cute lady bug. Halley is this tiny little girl who is so cute- I think she will like it.

This is the family - that I always make the cards so they open from the left side because the first one I made someone in their family - I accidently did that - so now it has become a tradition.

Paper is from Reminiese. The green is from one of the stacks. Added a couple primas and some ribbon - and of course - got out the Stickles.

Everyone have a wonderful Memorial Day week end. Remember to say a prayer for all our soldiers past and present.

Happy Birthday Ben

This weeks was my week to make cards and just use some images. Ben is a big baseball fan so a simple baseball card for him - I found another image to put on the inside. I think he will like it. I believe I used mostly scraps on this card.

Thanks for stopping by and taking a look.

Silly Anniversary Card

Isn't this the silliest anniversary card? 5th year anniversary card for my oldest daughter. She and her husband are big fans of the Brewers. Went to Arizona for spring practice the last two years. If you don't know the history behind this - only in Wisconsin - would we have sausage races - lots of sausages are made in Wisconsin.

Lots of scrap paper and oldie moldie paper. Maybe it is oldie moldie Tuesday. A little cuddlebug embossing and die cut hearts.

I know they will get a kick out of this card - nothing fancy but very personal.

Thanks for looking.

2 Weeks Later - Oldie Moldie Monday Again

Here it is two weeks later - sorry - not feeling overly creative lately. I did manage to have Sunday at home so I got to do some playing with paper. It sure felt good. I actually have birthday cards made for birthdays that are coming up this week.
I dug out some of my old paper (no well aged paper - probably qualifies for ARP) to make some cards - I do love the color combination of black and red - and this Basic Grey paper is wonderful - these two cards are based off a sketch on Beate's blog - Fresh and Fun - one of the cards was a loose interpretation of the design. I love this lace - it comes from Wright's. I have it in white and cream also and the price is very reasonable - of course if you can get it on sale - it sure helps. The sentiment stamps are Stampin Up. I stamped with the Tim Holtz distress ink and used clear embossing powder on top. Love that look. Of course, I inked the edges of all the paper. I even completed the insides so they are ready to be used or put in my box for sale.
Hopefully I won't wait for two more weeks before I post again.
Happy creating.

Monday - Oldie Moldie Paper Day

Some weeks I only get an oldie moldie card made. But at least it is one card that got made. This design was from Beate's Blog. She always posts a sketch on Friday afternoon. Check it out - sometimes you need a little kick start to get the creativity flowing.
Dug this paper out - it is all Bo Bunny - I think the last few weeks have all been Bo Bunny. Very simple card. MOM was created on the computer. I added Stickles to the dots on the one patterned paper. I also added Stickles to the base flower which is foam.
I think Mom will like it - it is bright and cheerful.
Off to watch Dancing With the Stars and maybe create another card - I hope.

Amy's Birthday Card

Sorry for not being very creative lately. Busy and sometimes life just gets in the way of doing something fun like creating. Maybe I was just too pooped by all that fun shopping I did last week end.
The good news is my Mom is out of the nursing home so we will all rest easier knowing she is feeling better and back at home among her own things. Of course, I do need to get busy and make some mother day cards since that is fast approaching. I know I have two made - I know where one is - where oh where is the other one.
My neighbor Amy (now an adopted daughter) turned the big 40 this week end - unfortunately I was unable to make the party. The outside of her card is done - I just need to finish the inside. The beautiful paper and die cut is by My Mind's Eye - the flourish behind it is a die cut by Sizzix. I rubbed stickles on the Happy Birthday to make it sparkle. The brads are by American Crafts. I distressed and inked the edges of all the paper. The card base was Bazzill.
Funny story about the flourish die cut - I already had the die cut. Ivanka - before she came to the US - did some shopping and had it sent to me - to save shipping costs - she had an order from JoAnn's.com and Sizzix - well when she opened her boxes - she had a flourish die cut in each box. Annie took the other flourish - if you check out Ivanka's blog (link on the side) you can see her card using the flourish - very pretty. I do wonder what Annie has used it for.
I must go and make an "oldie moldie paper" card for tomorrow and maybe do a sketch challenge at the same time. Maybe I can combine some old paper and something new I bought last week.
Everyone enjoy the remainder of your afternoon.
