Operation Write Home, We R Memory Keepers and Hero Arts

It is Sunday - time for the weekly sketch on Stars and Stamps - Operation Write Home's card blog.  I always like to jump start my creativity on Sunday with this sketch.  It comes live at 6 and most of the time I have had my first cup of coffee by then and I am ready to play.

The paper grouping is from We R Memory Keepers.  It makes a great masculine card.  I chalked around the edges of all the paper with blue to set it off a little.  I find that chalk sometimes gives a softer look than inking the edges.  The cloud is a die cut and coordinating stamp from Hero Arts that is made for Archievers. It looked empty in the middle so I added Hello - this is a very old stamp I have - but I think it adds a little extra to the card.  Hello - always thinks of you.

And of course, the top strip was not on the sketch but it was in the paper pad, it was calling to me to be used, and I liked how it added the final touch to the card.  I seem to always have to tweak a sketch a little.

Well off to have that second cup of coffee.  Found out on facebook I need a get well card - so I think this paper will work great along with a motorcycle stamp.

Bard what an absolutely wonderful card... and a little spooky! Why? At one time my DH had shirts similar to the plaid and pin striped papers you used, and he wore them with jeans.

Needless to say I love the colors and papers you've chosen. The strip of paper at the top is so cool and a nice addition. Really like the sentiment too.

Barb - I always enjoy your cards -- I am on my first cup of coffee -- just getting rolling here in the desert. I really like your card and the DP -- I like the extra touch you put on the top with the extra strip of paper. I think the "hello" is just perfect in the center of the cloud too. Thanks for your inspiration so early this AM.

I need 2 cups of coffee before being allowed near sharp things that can cut. Well done you! Love the color tones.

Great masculine card! I need to do more chalking too - this is a great example of how it looks different. Good work so early in the morning!

This is the perfect masculine card. I'm glad you added that "hello" it really draws your eye to the cloud. Terrific papers. I like the added strip and the sketch is just a jumping off point anyway, isn't it?

This really is a great masculine card, and I love the denim look on the background! I love the cloud with the sentiment around it, and the "hello" in the center was just what it needed!

What a nice choice of papers, Barb. I love how you made the cloud a true focal point by adding a sentiment in the middle. Thanks for playing along with the Sunday Sketch!

I love all the texture on your card. It almost looks like you used fabric. Great job.

You're always so early. It's fun to know that when I wake up here on the west coast, you'll already have shared your card!

And hey, it's a plaid shirt and jeans on a card! How fun is that? I'm really glad you added that hello in the center, the top strip is a great idea and I love chalking, partly because, you're right, it's softer, and also because I often screw up when I try to ink. lol
