Happy Fall Y'All

I got this new leaf stamp from Ellen Hutson and when I saw the current challenge at The Paper Players I knew I wanted to play along.  I also had just signed up to participate in a Fun Fold Fall card exchange and I was lucky enough to see a cute fold on Facebook by Erin Reed - here is the link to her U Tube Channel.  I think the creative goddesses were smiling down at me.

The challenge at The Paper Players is a Tic Tac Toe.   I chose the one - fall, leaf and orange.

I used kraft paper for my card base.  I did the fold.  I sprayed the kraft paper with some gold glitter spray.  To dress up the kraft paper some more I added splatters of the Twinkling H2O's that I painted the leaf with.  I added two little strips of paper in the red color to balance the design.  The leaf has a beautiful shine.

Here is a picture of the inside and the verse that is inside.

“Come little leaves," said the Wind one day,
"Come to the meadows with me and play.
Put on your dresses of red and gold;

For Summer is past, and the days grow cold.”

This was a fun card to make and not too hard to master the fold.

Thanks for stopping by.

Oldie Moldie Monday

It is Monday - time to show some love for your old supplies.

I found several of these stamped images and cards all cut out on my table.  I die cut the hello to add to the card.

October Happy Little Stampers Watercolor Challenge

How did it get to be October?  I am going to enjoy the fall weather and raking leaves.

The watercolor challenge this month at Happy Little Stampers is always Anything Goes with a twist of botanical.

I decided that botanical means plants, trees so I went with leaves.  I love to make leaf cards in the fall.  I think this stamp and die set  is from Concord and 9th.

I first made a background with a leaf background stamp from Fun Stampers Journey.  I painted on Twinkling H20's onto the stamp and stamped it on watercolor paper.  I did it several times.  If you looked very closely you could see the leaf design.

I heat embossed the leaves on a piece of paper I had colored with Twinkling H20"s.  I then die cut the leaves.  The background and leaves have a beautiful shine from the Twinkling H20's.  Die cut the word Grateful from some gold card stock.

The background was adhered to a rust colored card base.  The leaves were added to the card front.  The die cut word was glued on top of the leaves.  A small twine bow was added to the stem of the middle leaf.  The glue I used to adhere the leaves and word is Gina K's Connect Glue.  I love this glue.  I had never really used glue on my cards until this glue came along.

After the card was assembled, I added gold splatters.

Oldie Moldie Monday

It is Monday - time to show some love for your old supplies.  I have a boat load of patterned paper of which much of the collection is 6 x 6 pads.

From 3 sheets of paper from a 6 x 6 pad I was able to make these three cards.

CAS Christmas Card

It is the time of the year when you need to kick your card making into high gear so you can get all your cards made.  I will be gone from home over three weeks in November and December so the pressure is really on.

I decided to do the monthly challenge at CAS Christmas Card Challenge.  The challenge is holiday treats.

I had bought a set of playing cards which are gingerbread men.  Gingerbread men are wonderful holiday treats.  I did two designs of a CAS card,  I really don't know which one I prefer.

The only thing I did to the card was trim off the bottom so the man of my dreams would sit straight on the card front.  The background for the gingerbread boy is bristol smooth card stock dipped into some distress oxide ink to add some depth to the background.  I just used a simple red and white stripe and green dots to add some color to the card.  A simple stamped sentiment completes the card.

Here the stripe is on the bottom to ground our man.

I made two cards like the one I am sharing using a couple sheets of paper from a 6 x 6 pad.

Oldie Moldie Monday

It is Monday.  Time to show some love for your old supplies.

The paper used on this card is from a 6 x 6 pad from Basic Grey - well aged - I am sure I have  12 x 12 sheets of it also.

Remember to show some love  to your old supplies.  They still make great cards and will bring a smile to someone's face.
