I have looked at the sketch from Sunday Stamps and finally found a chance to play along with the sketch.
When I was creating my cards for Oldie Moldie Monday, I just kept going and used their sketch with the papers on my design table.
The paper is from a 6 x 6 pad from Prima with a date of 2012 on it. The sentiment is from Art Gone Wild.
I am glad I got to play along with the sketch. I would like to try it again with less busy papers. I will have to see if time permits this week. I need to work on the lawn and get those leaves raked. UGH.
Have a wonderful day.

Oldie Moldie Monday
It is Monday - time to show some love for your old supplies.
It feels good to have my life back on what I consider my normal retirement craziness. A wedding in the family takes precedence over everything.
I got a chance to play with a challenge for my oldie moldie monday creations.
I always check out the challenge at The Paper Players on Sunday. This week they had a sketch challenge so I decided to play along.
The paper is from a 6 x 6 pad from Prima with a date of 2012 on it. Luckily paper does not spoil. I love the leaf design in the one sheet of patterned paper.
The sentiment is from Art Gone Wild.
This is another card I made from the same paper pad using another sentiment in the same stamp set.
I did use a doily as the backdrop for my sentiment.
Remember to show some love for your old supplies - they still make wonderful projects.

Christmas Card - Sketch Challenge
After a hectic last few months of the final countdown to my daughter's wedding, my life returns to my normal. The wedding was beautiful. I must confess I still have not made their wedding card.
Now that I am back home I wanted to start making some cards. The best way to do this is to try some challenges. I liked the sketch challenge at CAS(E) This Sketch.
The stripes on this sketch reminded me of all the washi tape I have acquired. I need to use some of this tape so I dug through and found three tapes I liked together. I had an idea in my head to use silver on the card. The sentiment and snowflake are heat embossed in silver. The snowflake is from a stamp set from Bo Bunny which I purchased at Tuesday Morning. The sentiment is from Avery Elle.
Dark day in Wisconsin for taking pictures. I really like this card and think it would be great to mass produce if you wanted to.
Thanks for stopping by.

Oldie Moldie Monday
It is Monday - time to show some love for you old supplies.
I needed a quick card for a friend. I was dropping off some soup for her and thought I would just throw in a card to cheer her.
The image was floating around my design table already colored so I grabbed some well aged papers and made a quick card.
I hope it cheered her up along with that bowl of soup.

Oldie Moldie Monday
It is Monday - time to show some love for your old supplies. (and yes I did not get anything posted last Monday - life is crazy right now)
I was cutting some of this paper pad up to send to some friends so they could make birthday cards and I am always in need of hello cards so I quickly made a hello card out of these bright cheerful colors.
The hello die cut is from Hero Arts and I believe the thinking of you is from Gina K.

Happy Little Stampers October ATC Challenge
It is time for a new ATC challenge at Happy Little Stampers.
An ATC is a tiny piece of art that measures 2.5 x 3.5 inches.
The theme for the challenge for October is Holiday.
My ATC started with a piece of paper that was colored with distress oxide inks. The mat was also colored with distress oxide inks.
The bottle was stamped with grey ink and the wine in the bottle was stamped with distress oxide inks. This is a stamp from Rubbernecker Stamps that has the two layers.
The sentiment was stamped with VersaFine Black Onyx Ink and heat embossed with clear embossing powder. I thought this was such a fun sentiment for a holiday themed ATC.
Please join us at Happy Little Stampers for our October ATC challenge. Did I tell you there is a prize for one lucky participant.

Happy Little Stampers October Anything Goes With Die Challenge
It is time for a new challenge at Happy Little Stampers using your dies. It is the best challenge because "anything goes" so get busy and join our challenge.
My cards this month (yes I said cards) is because I used one die cut and used it for two cards. I used both the negative and the positive for my cards.
I will show you my cards and explain what I did.
I took a piece of glossy card stock and colored it with distress oxide inks. I then used the glaze over the top and brought all the colors to the surface.
I covered the back of my card stock with a full sheet of adhesive. This is a blessing when you are working with these small pieces. I used my cover plate die and cut the card stock. I also cut it out of white card stock.
On the second card I adhered the background with all parts removed from the white card stock which was die cut. I adhered it to a piece of the same size white card stock. I had also added lots of adhesive with my tape runner to the white base. I then very carefully removed each little piece of the blue die cut and inserted it into the white background. The adhesive on the back of each piece plus the adhesive I had added to the white base made sure each little piece was stuck firmly.
I took the blue background and adhered it (remember it has adhesive on it already) to a piece of dark blue card stock. This really make the die pop.
This is how I got two cards from one beautifully colored die cut.
To complete this card I die cut three layers of the "Thanks" and adhered them together before adding to the card front. I stamped a sentiment in navy to pop up below the die cut sentiment.
I really struggled with finishing this beautiful background. I finally settled on this very simple bold flower cut from dark blue. I cut this with my Silhouette. I die cut the hello from dark blue and white card stock. A couple beautiful embellishments completed the card.
Please come join us at the October Anything Goes With Dies challenge.
