Tag You're It - Let's Try It

There is a new challenge blog - Tag You're It - and you make tags - clean and simple tags.  I do hope it is clean and simple - I do struggle with that.  They give you a tag that you take your inspiration from.  Here is the tag to inspire you.  It is beautiful.

The inspiration I am taking from this picture/tag is the hello and the flower.  I cut my shapes with the Silhouette and it is a small card in the shape of a tag.  It is going to my young friend in Australia.  Looking forward to seeing her in the fall when she returns and learn about all her adventures.

I off set my flower so that the white showed underneath it to pick up the white of the hello and also the center of the flower.  I layered 3 cuts of the flower together to have it be off the card base without using dimensionals.  I chose the colors because teal and pink are two of her favorite colors.  I added the pearls to pick up the color of the yellow strip I added on the bottom.  The paper is from American Crafts.

Hello, Howdy, Aloha, Ciao, Hey, Hola, Buenos Dias

I bought a new stamp - so I had to try it out - the stamp is by Stampabilities - a good  stamp for Operation Write Home cards.

This card is based on the weekly sketch from Operation Write Home's blog Stars and Stamps.

I bought some new paper yesterday (Happy Mother's Day Barb) and wanted to use some of it.  The plaid and the check that I stamped the sentiment are from My Mind's Eye - Kate and Co - Oxford Lane.  I liked the colors - a little different than what I usually buy - I also though you could make some masculine cards from the paper.  The brad is from them also.  The dark blue that I matted with are from my table and the yellow is also some my scraps.  I have lots of this yellow in my stash - I must have done a special project with it or was going to do a special project with it.

My take on the sketch is similar but not the same - my sentiment did not fit the dimension so everything else was adapted from there.  I also felt everything needed to be grounded so matted the sentiment and the yellow embossed background.

Happy Mother's Day everyone.

Freshly Made Sketches, Stampendous and My Mind's Eye

Tonight I am posting another card I have made for Operation Write Home.  I based the design for the card on the weekly sketch at Freshly Made Sketches.  I think this will make a great card to be sent home to a child.

Also - I liked the sketch from last week but never got a chance to make it so I made two of these cards.  My Stampendous monkeys are getting a work out this month.

This paper is a 6 x 6 pad from My Mind's Eye.  We have been having a discussion on how many cards you can get out of a 6 x 6 pad - so I am doing an unofficial experiment and will attempt to keep track.  Of course, it really helps when your paper is double sided like this pad is.  I also am lucky to have some nice colored card stock bases that work well with this paper collection.

Stay tuned - I do promise that not every post will be cards made from this particular pad.  I do need variety in my creative life.

Hello Monkey

Good afternoon - had the day off work - I ran one errand today - and then have hung out at home - have not accomplished much so I need to get something done.  I did make a card - the midweek throw down on Stars and Stamps (Operation Write Home card blog) is to make a card using monkeys.  I have lots of monkey stamps - and I need to get them out and make cards and make people smile.

The other challenge I am entering this in is on the Moxie Fab Blog - there are celebrating the release of their new issue - Stamp It - and one challenge on Moxie Fab is a Hello card.

Everyone enjoy the remainder of your day - very hot here.
