Merry Christmas

I was cleaning the other day and I found this wonderful spool of ribbon that I had bought (most likely on clearance) to make Christmas cards out of.

I actually immediately went to my studio and made a couple cards.  Sometimes you just have to do it - and who does not need a break from cleaning.  How lucky that the current challenge at Merry Monday Christmas Challenge is to use ribbon.

I removed the wire from the edges of the ribbon.  There are two different designs of cardinals on the ribbon.  I made a card for each cardinal design.

The first image I used the design is longer (how cool it includes a sentiment on the ribbon also)  I picked up on the natural tones of the images and used kraft, red, green and brown for my card stock.

I added some dry embossing to add more texture to the card.

Here is the second design.  I actually kitted some of these for my friend Mary.  She helps with a craft fair that benefits Hospice in South Carolina.  I try to help out with different things.

Thanks for stopping by and hope you find something wonderful while you are cleaning.

What nice Merry Monday cards! How clever to use a strip of ribbon with such lovely images.

Both cards are lovely, what a creative idea to use the ribbon as your focal image. Thank you for joining us for Merry Monday.
