Oldie Moldie Monday 5-3-10

Sketch for this week's challenge

Feminine version of sketch

Masculine Version of Sketch

It is Monday – Oldie Moldie Monday to be exact – and Ivanka and I are going to have some fun today. Finally you get to know how you can win one of our prize packages for our Oldie Moldie Monday challenge – or as we affectionally call it OMM.

So what is Oldie Moldie Monday - the day of the week when you dig out that once loved paper that has gotten buried by new loves – dig it out and create a card or cards from it. It is quite interesting how many cards you can make from a few sheets of coordinating paper.

Our challenge is being done with the sketch from Operation Write Home cardmaking blog. Every Sunday they have a sketch to help you in making cards for our soldiers to send home to their families and friends – for some reason – there is not a Hallmark store or Walgreen’s on every corner where our troops are stationed. Please go to the Operation Write Home web site, their card blog, and become a friend on Facebook. I just sent my first box of cards in - if interested in joining this worthwhile cause - please read their rules - the biggest one is not glitter.

The challenge is to make a card (no two cards) using this sketch which is the sketch from the Operation Write Home card making blog. One card should be a masculine card and one card should be a feminine card. This was their midweek challenge a couple weeks ago and I thought it was such great fun. You can post your creation in our Oldie Moldie Monday Flicker gallery . The challenge will run from today, Monday, May 3 to Sunday, midnight, May 9. Come back Wednesday, May 11 to find out who won the challenge.

My prize includes a pad of Basic Grey paper and 3 different sticker collections from SRM Stickers. You can see a picture of the prize in yesterday's post - Blogger did not like the 4th picture in my post today.

Here are my two cards. Both are 4.25 x 5.5 (the preferred size for OWH).

Card One – is my feminine card.
Patterned Paper: Making Memories
Stamp: Stampendous colored with copics
SRM Stickers for sentiment
Prima Flower
Papertrey Ink: Scalloped Bordier Diecut
Brad from my supplies

Card Two – is my masculine card (surprise it is not golf related)
Image – Baseball Dingbat printed in colored ink on patterned paper
Patterned Paper: Dream Street Papers LLC.
Sentiment Stamp: Anita’s (one of my first stamps bought on clearance)

Come and play.
