Masculine Birthday Card

I am playing along with the current challenge at The Male Room.  The current challenge is clocks.

I knew I had this clock stamp and I actually knew where it was which is the biggest miracle of all.  I stamped the clocks on coffee dyed paper and die cut with a circle die.  I found some Prima paper which I used as my background.  I know I have a clock embossing folder - but I do not know where it is - so I used a distressed circles embossing folder to add some depth to the background.  I inked the edges of the background and the circles.  The black strip was added to ground the clock.  I designed the sentiment on my computer and printed on more coffee dyed paper.

This card will go in my birthday project box.  I want to donate a year's supply of birthday cards to the nursing home where my Mom spent the last years of her life.  They took such good care of her and I wanted to give something to them to share with their residents.

Thanks for stopping by.

Happy Little Stamper's February Christmas Challenge

It is time for a new Christmas challenge at Happy Little Stampers.  I think it is a challenge you will enjoy.  As always the challenge is "Anything Goes" but there is an optional choice for you to play with.

The optional twist this month is Snowflakes - and I imagine just about everyone has a snowflake or two in their creative library of tools.  I have many stamps and dies.  I live in the cold states so snowflakes are a given part of our life in the winter months.

I fell in love with this stamp from Colorado Craft Company when I was visiting a friend.  I have admired it since they released it a year or two ago but when I met it personally I knew I had to have it in my toolbox.

I first did some ink smooshing on my background to give it a little color.  I used a light pink, lavender and blue oxide ink.  After this was dried, I stamped the snowflake image in brighter oxide inks and then I sprayed the stamping with water to make the colors flow.  I do this so that the colors are somewhat in the shape of the stamp and provide a perfect backdrop for a white sparkly heat embossed sentiment.  I had some embossing powder with glitter in it and decided to use it so I would have some sparkle in my snowflake.  The sentiment was stamped in the blue oxide ink color and heat embossed with clear embossing powder.

I matted the panel with navy blue cardstock and added to a card base.  I added some clear gems I had in my stash to add bling to the card.  You need to use some of the supplies we have in our stash.

The stamp comes with a coordinating die so I did basically the same process as in the first card to create the snowflake but I then die cut it.  I die cut the snowflake two more times and adhered the layers to the stamped image to give it some depth.  I added it to the card front.  The sentiment was done in the same way as the first card.  On this card I added some splatter in the blue.  I once again matted the image in navy blue card stock.

I even did coordinating envelopes for my cards.  I just inked the stamp up with the different colors of oxide ink, sprayed with water and stamped.  The envelopes turned out beautiful and the recipient of the card will be excited by the envelope and maybe it will add a smile to the face of any postal worker who comes in contact with it along its journey.

Please join us at Happy Little Stamper's for our February Christmas Challenge.  You will be happy when December comes that you have some cards already mailed.

Christmas Cards for 2022

I am in a private Facebook cardmaking group and we always complain come December we do not have enough Christmas cards to send out - we are trying to take control of this issue - by creating with a different theme each month and each week we have a new person post a card to inspire more creativity.

The current challenge at Addicted to Stamps is Christmas.

This card I created for our January theme of January.  I hand water colored these trees several years ago and decided it needed to be made into a card.  I added doodling around the trees, stripes and circles.  Every tree needs a star so die cut some out of gold paper and then scattered a few more around the card front.  I added gold and black splatters and a sentiment to complete the card.  It was matted with black and gold.  I even have a sentiment stamped on the inside.

Onto the next challenge for our group.  February is the month of snowflakes.

Thanks for stopping by.

Paper Players Tic Tac Toe Challenge

The weekly challenge at Paper Players is a Tic Tac Toe challenge.  These are always fun to do so I decided to play along this week.

I chose to do the middle row CAS, Flower and birthday.  I have a box of images that I have colored at various times.  I thought this would be a great opportunity to look in that box and see if I could find a pretty colored flower.  I found about six colored images of this flower and decided to use the yellow orange one in a card.  When I looked in my box of premade card bases I found a peach colored one that worked perfectly with the card.  I stamped a simple Happy Birthday sentiment at the bottom.

I dug out the other images and looked to see if I had more colored card bases already done.  I did find a few.  I made a couple Thinking of You cards and another birthday card.

Thanks Paper Players for motivating me to make these cards.

Oldie Moldie Monday

It is Monday - time to show some love for your old supplies.

This week I am sharing a thank you note I sent to a friend for a holiday present.  This paper has been hanging out in my supplies for years because that snowman was just too cute to throw away.  I added a snowflake to the snowman.  The sentiment is from Penny Black and one I have had in my supplies for several years.  Some clear stickles were added to snowflakes and dots in the night sky.

Remember to show some love for your old supplies.

Oldie Moldie Monday

It is Monday, time to show some love for your old supplies.

My four cards (only three shown because one design in duplicated) were made from one sheet of 12 x 12 BoBunny paper.  I added some green card stock for matting and accent pieces.

Oldie Moldie Monday

It is Monday, time to show some love for your old supplies.

I found this image in stuff - I must have done it over 10 years ago.  I believe it was chalking over an image stamped with VersaMark ink.  I used some of my new knowledge to give it more life.  I used colored pencils to add shading to the fish and plant life.  I also added some stickles to give the bubbles a little glitz.

Remember to show some love for your old supplies.  They still make great cards.
