We R Memory Keepers, Hero Arts and Operation Write Home

Good afternoon - time to share my card for the weekly sketch on Stars and Stamps - Operation Write Home's card blog.

I did my usual cheating by just cutting a rectangle and then using strips to divide the rectangle into the correct size pieces.  This method works much better for me to get two strips straight rather than 3 different pieces straight.

I used a Hero Arts stamp set that has the coordinating dies with it.  I clear embossed the flowers, inked them and cut out with the dies.  They are pop dotted onto the card front.  The sentiment is from Hero Arts also.  I added some different sized pearls to finish off the card.   The paper is from We R Memory Keepers.

Enjoy the remainder of the day.  It is cooling down in Wisconsin - we are only in the 80's.  But it is 20 some degree cooler than several days last week.  Whew.  I will need a loan to pay for the cost of my air conditioning.

I love those 2 rounded corners which really draw the eye in! Great card!
It cooled down here in PA too - to 88 degrees. I too need a mortgage to pay my electric bill for the month! lol Stay cool!

Barb, This card is so very pretty. I love the rounded corners and your flowers stand right out there for all to see. I just love it. I'm in northern California this week and they tell me it is hot for here also. It was 84 degrees yesterday and should be about this same this afternoon. Enjoy your week.

Love the colors of your card and the flowers add a nice touch. I'd love to be in the 80's - it's in the 100's here in South Carolina. Trade ya places!

I always forget about the rounded corners -- it really adds a nice visual effect. I like how you placed the flowers and brads. Well here in the desert -- it was 108 in our backyard. Supposed to get hotter tomorrow. I'm headin' to the pool. :-)

I also love the rounded corners, especially the way they're kitty-corner from each other, and not both on the same side. Great card!

You also saved me by putting those two smaller embellishments on. I was initially stuck thinking of all the same size, which wasn't working, then I saw your card and the lightbulb came on and I knew what I was going to do.

And finally, I HAVE to remember your trick to avoid trying to line up squares and strips, which takes me ages. I think I must lack a "straight paper" gene. :D
