Another Christmas Card

I am in a group of Facebook and this year to help us work on our Christmas card supply for December, we have a monthly theme to focus our cardmaking on.  The month of March our theme is Poinsettias.

If you look at your Christmas patterned paper, you will find many different designs using poinsettias.  The paper I used for this card is from Craft Consortium.  I used the current challenge from Try Stampin' on Tuesday.

I like how all the patterned papers came together on the kraft card base.  The addition of the gold strip and sentiment added the perfect contrast to the red and green paper.  I finished the centers of the poinsettias with gold Stickles to bring the gold into the bottom portion of the card.

Poinsettia Merry Christmas

I just found a new Christmas Challenge Blog - Peace on Earth Christmas Challenge.  It is a bi-monthly challenge.  I am always looking for a new Christmas Challenge to keep me moving on my creation of Christmas cards for 2022.

I am entering my collaged poinsettia Christmas card in the challenge.  This month I have focused on using poinsettias on my Christmas cards.  It is quite amazing how many poinsettias you have in your supplies.  I have lots of the Tim Holtz Christmas goodies and there are many poinsettias in there.

The card is basically one big collage.  I did add some inking on the background paper to add a little more depth to the card.  Gold Stickles were added to the centers of the poinsettia.

I am even happy to say I did finish the inside of the card also.

Edge to Edge Shaker Card

The current challenge at 52 Christmas Card Showdown is moving element.

I honestly don't know if this card qualifies as a card with a moving element.  There is lots of glitter and sequins that move inside this edge to edge shaker card.

The image is from a Christmas deck of cards I bought many years ago and wanted to use it for an upcoming challenge in a group where we are to use animals.  I used some of my ample supply of Christmas papers to make this fun card.  I do know it will make someone smile at Christmas.

Here you can see the shaker bits spread over the top of the card.

The Male Room Challenge and Oldie Moldie Monday Collide

It is Monday - time to show some love for your old supplies.

I am combining my old supplies with the current challenge at The Male Room.  I am continuing to work on my Birthday Project and wanted to make some more masculine cards.

The dog image I have had for a long time.  I dug out some old papers that complemented the colors in the image and made this fun card.

Thanks for stopping by and remember to show some love for your old supplies.

Cards to Cheer

It seems like there are so many friends that need a card to cheer them up and I am always thankful for my supplies and my ability to make these cards.  Challenges help me focus in on making particular cards.

The current challenge at Sunday Stamps is a color challenge.  I have a rough time doing color challenges but I do try to do them sometimes.  Here is the challenge.   The colors made me think of tulips - oh please - hurry tulips - and start blooming.

I recently got the new Honey Bee Tulip die cut so I wanted to use it for this card.  I went into my stash of card stock and started pulling some colors that somewhat matched the challenge.  I then used my distress oxide inks to add some depth to the floral pieces.  The tulip is very easy to line up - there was a little notch on most of the pieces that helped.  I die cut a yellow cover out of some Bo Bunny dot paper I had.  I ink blended a distress oxide on the card front to add more depth to the card front.  I finished the card with a die cut sentiment which I stacked and some splatters.

I know it will bring a smile to my friend's face as she battles breast cancer.  She always lets me know the card arrived and how much she loved it.

Thanks for stopping by and let's keep hoping spring arrives soon.

Seasons Greetings

I have been steadily working on my Christmas cards this year so I am ready when December comes around.  Finding a great Christmas Challenge Blog helps.  52 Christmas Card Throwdown helps with that goal.  This week the challenge is Holly and or Ivy.

I actually already had this image from Colorado Craft Company stamped and colored in my supplies.  I had colored many of these a year or two ago and this one was still waiting to be made into a card.  I do love when this happens.

I used a new sentiment die I had recently purchased.  I die cut the image, matted it with gold and added to a kraft card base.  I did add glossy accents to the berries.  I am still debating on adding gold splatters.

Oldie Moldie Monday

It is Monday - time to show some love for your old supplies.

The kraft background (6 of them) have been floating around my craft room for years and I finally decided to do something with them.  The snowflake is a new die.  I cut it twice and layered them together to give them a little depth.  I cut the snowflake background into a square, matted it with red card stock and added to a kraft card base.  I white heat embossed the sentiment on the red card stock and added to the center of the snowflake.  I do like how they turned out so glad I never tossed them.

Remember to show some love for your old supplies.

Oldie Moldie Monday

It is Monday, time to show some love for your old supplies.

I had paper left over from a Valentine card I made so made another card.  This is not a Valentine card - just a card to a favorite college student.  Hope it brings a smile to her face.

Remember to show some love to your old supplies.

Happy Little Stamper's March Stencil Challenge

It is March - time for a new stencil challenge at Happy Little Stamper's.

Our stencil challenge is always "Anything Goes."

I took a piece of Bristol smooth card stock and did a little ink smooshing to add color to my background.  After this was dry, I took a stencil from My Favorite Things (the oval) and did ink blending to create the gradient color inside the oval.  After this had dried, I had a butterfly stencil from Kaisercraft and I used some blueish embossing paste to add the butterflies.  It is a very monochromatic look.

I cut the sentiment from glitter card stock and added a couple layers of card stock behind it so it would pop off the background.  I stamped a coordinating sentiment and heat embossed it in white on the same card stock I matted my image with.

Here is a close up of the sentiment and the background.

Happy Little Stamper's March Christmas Challenge

Here we are in the third month of the year - how are you doing with your Christmas card creating?  I hope you are playing along with our Christmas challenge at Happy Little Stamper's each month so you will have some cards ready in December.

Our challenge is always "Anything Goes" but we do add an optional theme if you wish to play along with it.  This month the theme is Twine.

I did not add twine to my card.  I used a stamp from Woodware Stamps for my trees.  I had made the background paper on my gelli print.  I stamped first on the background which had some ink smooshing going on and also stamped on the background paper.  I fussy cut the trees out.  This was an easy image to fussy cut.  I glued the gelli print trees to the stamped background.  I added a gold die cut for the sentiment.  Below the trees, I added clear Stickles to give the look of ice and snow.  I matted the background with more gold and then added a layer of the same paper used for the trees.  This was all added to a kraft card base.

Here is a close up of the sentiment and the Stickles below the trees.

Here is a close up of all the layering.

I even made a coordinating envelope.

I made six of these cards so I am getting a little closer to being ready for Christmas.

Please join us at Happy Little Stampers for our Christmas Challenge.

Engagements

Love must be in the air.  I have two new engagements to celebrate.

I am using the new challenge at Addicted to Stamps and more where the challenge is Any Occassion.

I recently bought a set of images from Penny Black with the love theme.  I believe they were meant to be used for Valentine's Day.  I myself thought they made great images for a quick fun engagement card.

Each image was matted with black card stock and added to a white card base.  I used a Hooray Die to add the sentiment which I layered several times to add some depth.  I used clear Stickles to add some sparkle to the snowflakes and trees.
