Oldie Moldier Monday

It is Monday, time to show some love for your old supplies.

These are some card for a foster card home.  I bought the focal images (playing cards) at a thrift store and the paper is well aged in my supplies.

Oldie Moldie Monday

It is Monday, time to show some love for your old supplies.

I was going through a box of paper and this one sheet of paper (only one sheet out of an entire box) talked to me so I had to make a couple quick Christmas cards.

Remember to show some love to your old supplies, they still make wonderful cards.

Happy Little Stampers April Stencil Challenge

It is time for a new stencil challenge at Happy Little Stampers.  The stencil challenge is always anything goes so easy to play along.

Stencils are such an economical tool to have for card making.  I have many and need to get busy and use all of them.

This card was for my great nephew who plays one of these instruments.  I have no idea which one he plays.but he does a wonderful job and even writes and sings his own music.

The stencil is from A Colorful Life.  I stenciled the image on a background I made with newsprint, gesso and watercolor.  I used an Oxide Ink to add the image to the front of the card.  I did outline the stenciled images with a fine black liner pen to make them stand out from the background.  I used a label for the sentiment.

Happy Little Stampers April Christmas Challenge

It is time for a new Christmas Challenge at Happy Little Stampers.  By playing along with challenges, you will have a jumpstart on your holiday cards and you won't be in a panic at the end of November.

The challenge is always Anything Goes but we always do have an option.  This month the optional choice is Jingle Bells.

I have had these cute snowmen from Unity Stamps colored for awhile and I decided it was time to make them into cards.  The first card was fussy cut out and added to a background I made.  I believe the background is made with acrylic paints. (I have a big box of backgrounds I have made and don't remember how I made them.  I really should make notes on the back of them so I could tell people how I made it.)

I added some doodling to the hat band and also added white highlights with a gel pen to the scarf and hat.  The snowman was glued directly to the card front.  The sentiment was popped up.  Irridescent splatters were added to the background.

Here is a second card I made with the same stamped image.  I believe the images were colored to go with this paper grouping.  The image was matted with grey and several snowflake die cuts were added to the card front.  The sentiment is popped up.  I made two of this card.  I even stamped purple snowflakes on envelopes to coordinate with the cards.

Happy Little Stampers April Birthday Challenge

It is time for a new birthday challenge at Happy Little Stampers.  The theme is always Anything Goes - please join us and get ahead on the birthday cards you need for the year.

This card is for my niece.  She has already received it so it is safe to share.  The background focal point is rice paper from Joggles.  I took a wet brush and drew a line around the image and then gently tore on the wet line.  I glued to the card front with a glue stick.  I then used a small amount of white gesso and blended it around the edge of the paper to blend it in the background.  I did a small amount of stenciling on the background with an oxide ink.

To add more texture to the card, I cut some of the Tim Holtz floral dies out of different colors of card stock.  I also had a feather die which I colored with oxide ink. They were glued on top of the background image.  A birthday sentiment and some splatters completed the card front.

I layered it onto a purple mat and adhered to a white card base.

Here is a close up of the focal point and all the layers.

Please join us at Happy Little Stampers and get a few birthday cards made.
