Wacky Wonderful Wednesday

Just wanted to share this cute little gift jar I made - wouldn't it be sweet on a co workers desk for the holidays with some seasonal candy in it - I had to eat all other colors so I just had red left to put in the jar - looks like I may have eaten some of the red also. The challenge over on Our Creative Corner was to make a gift item.
The jar was 99 cents at some store - the rub on and paper used around the rim are Imaginisce. The penguin and paper are Imaginisce's 2007 Christmas line. Love those sweet penguins.
Everyone have a great Wednesday.

Update on PC Gourmet post

Somedays - I am computer challenged - blog challenged - I could not get the pictures to cooperate with the post I made on the PC Gourmet -

so tonight I have the pictures of the Cheesy Biscuits and the tag that goes with them - enjoy.

The return of Oldie Moldie Monday

The return of Oldie Moldie Monday - of course - I did it over the week end - but I am posting today - Monday.
I made some thank you cards to send to a friend - this is a couple of them - come back tomorrow night to see the other one. I was glad to come home today - did my absentee voting tonight - and then to make a bad day worse (work was bad) I forgot to go get my hair cut - I thought my appt was next week - well it is now.
Both of these cards satisfy the challenge on the Cuddlebug Challenge blog. the challenge was to use your Cuddlebug on patterned paper. I used 3 different embossing folders on these two cards.
Pink/brown card - scraps of paper
Stamp - Inkadinkado
Colorbox Chalk Ink
Basic Grey paper - Romani collection
Chalked the large thanks to make it stand out
Bling - maybe Hobby Lobby house brand
Hope you enjoy my thank you cards.

Sunday - Time to Create

It seems like during the week I can not find the time or creativity to create anything - I am home this week end so actually got some house cleaning done, groceries bought for the next two weeks - so I can create - I made some thank you cards for a friend which I will share later in the week. This card is for my friend - just to let her know that I am thinking of her and her family in these hard times.

I wanted the card to be special to Anna - she loves fabric and is one of the most creative women I know - so I wanted this card to be special for her. Luckily the card also satisfied two challenges. The first challenge is for the sketch on Card Positioning - every Sunday they post a new sketch. The other challenge is the challenge on Caardvarks - Initial Reaction. Whew - that was hard work.

Paper Crafts Gourmet

This is a new special edition coming from PC. I can't wait to see everything that is in there - last issue was brim full of eye candy and lots of good recipes - and I do believe they kept all the calories so feel free to make all the recipes and not worry about your diet.

The magazine can be purchased at their online store -

The recipe and tag are created by Alisa Bangerter

Here is a picture of one of the culinary delights - Cheesy Garlic Biscuits

Cheesy Garlic Drop Biscuits

Alisa Bangerter

This is a perfect recipe to pull out if you are short on time because there is no rolling or cutting. The cheese and garlic add extra kick to a plain biscuit, and kids love them. They are the perfect accompaniment to serve with soups or stews, and are great served with a salad.

2 c. flour
2 tbsp. granulated sugar
4 tsp. baking powder
1 1/2 tsp. garlic powder
1/2 tsp. salt
2/3 c. butter or margarine
1 1/2 c. grated cheddar cheese
1 1/4 c. milk
Chives (optional)

Mix together dry ingredients. Cut in butter with pastry cutter until mixture is fine. Add cheese and mix well. Add milk and stir until just moistened. Drop by spoonfuls onto greased baking sheet. Sprinkle top with chopped dried or fresh chives if desired. Bake at 400 degrees for approx. 15 minutes.

The Halloween Tag to accompany this great treat can seen at this link:

The tag was made by Alisa Bangerter.

Hello Cupcake

Early Sunday morning - too much to do today inside and outside the house - I guess I need to get started when I get done with this post - I can get some laundry started at least. I started raking leaves yesterday - unfortunately my oaks do not dump their leaves until very late in the leaf raking season - I always hope it is in time to get them raked into the streets before the snow flies. Our town picks up the leaves in the fall and you can rake them into the street. I did get the willow tree area cleaned up - I just need to put some of that into the street. The kids in the neighborhood wanted to play in the leaves - so I gave them the rakes over by the oaks and they raked up a pile to play in - good cheap fun for the kids. They always look forward to that every year.
I did get a card made yesterday - I am going to send it to my aunt who is 100 years old - very bright and cheerful. The card is based on the sketch for the cupcake challenge on Taylored Expressions - every Friday she posts a new sketch - you do not have to use a cupcake on your design but if you have them - why not. Everybody loves a cupcake.
Everyone enjoy your Sunday. Packers play the late game so a chance to get some things done before then.

Stamps - Inkadinkado - Birthday Cupcake acrylic set
Paper - Imaginisce (love the bright primary colors)
Colored with Sakura Souffle Pens

Another Week Gone

Another week and no post during the week - I have been on the road every week end and when I do that - no creating happens - work has been super busy and when I get home - I stare at the paper and nothing happens. Mom's birthday celebration was great - it was nice to be with my family and Mom to celebrate her 90th birthday.
My card today is based on the sketch at 2 Sketches 4 You - my youngest daughter and her husband celebrated their 5th anniversary in September but Craig did not get home from Alaska where he has been working this summer until October - now they can get their anniversary card.
Paper - Cosmo Cricket - Happy Camper - the colors are so warm and yummy
Stamp - Stampendous
Ink - Chestnut Roan - Colorbox Chalk (favorite ink)
Cuddlebug Embossing Folder - Leaf
Rub on - Kaiser Scrapbooking
Cut circle with Sizzix die, inked edges of all paper. Stitched paper.

Monday Monday Monday

Busy week end - celebrated my Mom's 90th birthday with a small family gathering. I took this card along to give her on her birthday - and guess what the card came home with me - I was so busy getting her to the celebration, etc that I forgot to give her this card. I will have to put it in the mail in a padded envelope. Pink is her favorite color so we had to have a birthday card with lots of pink. My cardmaking friends did a card shower for her and she loved getting her mail last week.
Paper - My Mind's Eye - Laundry Line
Rub ons - My Mind's Eye - Laundry Line
Chipboard - My Mind's Eye - Laundry Line
added some stickles to the chipboard so they sparkled like the paper. I also stitched on the card - Chose a stitch that I thought matched the flowers in one of the patterned papers.
Everyone have a wonderful Monday - I think I will attempt to make a card.

It's Friday

Happy Friday - yeah - I have no creativity during the week - that darn work saps the creativity right out of you. I did get one card made - it came together pretty easily.
I have a thing for leaves so when I saw this Cuddlebug Embossing Leaf - I had to have it - great for fall cards. The base of the card is Bazzill. The argyle paper is double sided - the other side is the little check under the leaves. Underneath is a beautiful paper by Creative Imaginations. The rub on is from DeJa Views. Don't you love the bow - this is a strip torn from fabric that my daughter made a blouse out of. Matched perfectly and tied into the most perfect little bow - now why doesn't ribbon do that.
Everyone have a wonderful week end - I am off to celebrate my Mom's 90th birthday.

Happy Sunday everyone - tomorrow - back to work - I suppose I need to do some laundry - the weather is going back to the low 70's this week. Hard to dress for work. I finally broke down and actually wore real shoes. My daughter was here this week end - it was nice to have company - she was picking up her husband at the airport in Chicago so was up at 4 this morning - I am a little tired - they stopped back for lunch and headed home. I still needed to go wash dishes, etc. I will have some leftovers this week. One person - you don't cook too often.
Today's card is for my Mom's birthday. She is turning 90. Her name is Molly Beatrice - but she goes by Bea - thus the Bee card.

Patterned Paper - Sassafras, orange polka dot - Amuse

Hump Day Wednesday

Don't you love Wednesdays - you have made it half way through the week - and the week has been good at work - accomplished lots - got rid of piles - I think I may even be able to take Friday off - have vacation to use - so thought I should get busy and use it.

This card is for the sketch over on 2 Sketches 4 You - took me awhile to get it together. I am going to use the card for my Mom's birthday - pink is her favorite color and she loves flowers.
The paper is Basic Grey. One of the Cuddlebug embossing edge folders. Sewed around the edge to anchor all the paper down. The QuicKutz scallop border - very versatile die cut to have in your bag of tricks. I added the ribbon and buttons to the card to help the card fit the first challenge on Cococat's Cardmaking - we are celebrating our one year anniversary - please stop by and visit.
