Ok I have straightened the image on the card. Sorry.

Happy Halloween. Hope all your treats are good today and no overeating all the candy. I do not hand out halloween treats - too many big kids - so for my special children in the neighborhood - I went to Papa Murphys and bought their pumpkin pizza - looks like a jack o lantern. I will have to hide in the basement during trick or treat hours - oh gee - I will have to make cards.

Today I am trying to work on the house and make cards - I do believe I have been making more cards than working on the house - shame on me. I must go finish the bathroom - I wanted to get down on my hand and knees and scrub the tile but I don't think my back will tolerate that - next week end - I will do that first thing.

Today's card is based on the sketch at Taylored Expressions. I haven't been doing too many sketches lately. Been working on my Operation Write Home Cards so tend to mass produce the same simple designs. I bought this beautiful paper last year and luckily I could find it to make my cards. This is a new stamp I bought this week at Hobby Lobby (50% off) - it will be a good stamp for OWH cards next year. One color stamping. On Tuesday I will have a couple more cards using these same papers and stamps. I wonder how many cards I can get out of 4 sheets of double sided patterned paper. Two sheets of paper are identical.

Everyone have a great evening and week. I need to do my laundry yet and all kinds of other things I would rather ignore so I could make cards.

Card Details
Patterned paper: Little Yellow Bicycle
Stamp: Inkadinkado
Ink: Colorbox Chalk Ink - Chestnut Roan
Ribbon: Offray
Lace: Wyla (either tea dyed or coffee stained)
Button from my supplies
Twine: May Arts

Friday, October 29, 2010

Yeah - we all made it to Friday. I left work a little early - ran a few errands and then came home - I do believe it is time to put away the summer clothes and sandals. I do hate to see them placed in the drawers until next spring - we have had such a beautiful fall that we were able to keep wearing these items. Now time to get out the sweaters and real shoes - YUCK - I hate to wear real shoes. So maybe I need to go shopping and buy some new ones. I looked today but nothing excited me.
The midweek challenge on Operation Write Home card blog - Stars and Stamps - is almost anything goes - so I figure anything goes - so I made two regular cards. It is oldie moldie paper so I guess that counts. This is a stamp that was on clearance when I went shopping last week end. Isn't that birdie a cutie. I stamped one sentiment and used one of those great SRM stickers on the other card.
Everyone have a wonderful evening and week end - I hope you get to have some creativity in your time.

I do dislike when the cold months arrive because I never have a chance to take pictures of my cards in natural light. I get some natural light in my office so I do try to take pictures at work. So now we can talk about the other things I dislike about the cold months - but I don't think anyone wants to hear that kind of language. :)
My card tonight is a start on holiday cards - my goal is to make my card, finish the inside and address the envelope all in the same timespan - so then when it comes time to mail cards - I will be ready. this is my first card that has 2 parts of the three step program done.
Caardvarks is having a challenge on their blog. Gee - I am lucky - it fits with my three step program - outside and inside of card. Their beautiful cards were made with Penny Black stamps - for some reason - I have a hard time finding her stamps around here. I even was able to use a Penny Black stamp I already owned - another penguin card. I think most of my cards this year are going to be penguins - might as well have a theme. The paper is from a pad I bought - Prima - very fun papers - a very non traditional colored holiday card. The addition of a couple SRM stickers finished off the card perfectly.
Well I must go and try to do something worthwhile - I tried to get a new Copic marker tonight because the color I need - the pen went dry and the store was out of that color. Maybe Hobby Lobby will have the color - I hope - I found this paper I want to use for cards for Operation Write Home. Oldie moldie paper.
Everyone have a wonderful evening.

Doesn't this little guy make you smile - sure does me - and hopefully it will bring a smile to whoever receives this card. It is a card I have made for Operation Write Home. I made it based on their sketch from Sunday on their card blog. This was the paper leftover from a birthday card from last week - good - paper all gone. Yeah - only 1 million pieces of paper to go.
On Veteran's Day week end - Operation Write Home is hosting a blog hop. I have signed up to participate - I think I will offer some blog candy. Actually I do not like to make Valentine cards but I will do it for Operation Write Home - I actually have quite a few done already or designed and all the pieces cut out - just waiting to be assembled.
Well I must go do something worthwhile - OK - that means I am going to play with paper - I need to finish some Halloween cards and get them in the mail tomorrow.

Another card I have made for Operation Write Home - I colored a second image when I was making a card last week with this image. I thought it would make a great card for a Hero to send home to a loved one. Monkeys make everyone smile.

It is very windy in Wisconsin - hang onto your hats. We have another 24 hours of this - at least it is not snowing or horribly cold out.

Everyone have a good evening. My back went out again so taking it pretty easy.

The Purple/Penguin saga continues .......

Good Monday morning – a post before I head out the door to work. Yes – it is Monday – Oldie Moldie Monday and the purple/penguin saga continues. Same paper but a new penguin – I have discovered that this year I have a penguin obsession – I think I bought 3 or 4 new penguin stamps on Saturday. I was just looking for one particular stamp but obviously I found a few more. Color me happy.

The card is based on the sketch at Card Patterns. I can see lots of possibilities with this sketch – a big snowflake or flower would be pretty there also.

I need to finish the inside of my purple cards I have made so we will see if there is any more paper left for another post next Monday of the same purple paper grouping from Bo Bunny. I found the purple cardstock in a box of paper hiding in another room. I need to go finish sorting that box. I guess I will do it by color families.

Well everyone have a wonderful day.

Sunday, October 24, 2010

Good afternoon - I guess I have been missing in action - actually I have been too lazy to post - I have been making some cards but have not wanted to be on the computer - I must be working too hard at work.
I indulged in some retail therapy yesterday - made a round trip - went to Brookfield to Creative Pals - home store for Whipper Snapper Stamps - did manage to drop some money there - got some new stamps (come back tomorrow to see my new penguin), some new copics and some new paper and ribbon. Next stop Polka Dots in Mukwonago - dropped another boat load of money - but I guess that is good - I am stimulating the economy - they had the new Stampendous and Penny Black stamps - I got the Penny Black penguin stamp I have been looking for - I figure the gas money was less than shipping fees. But I feel so much better.
Today's cards - are actually using a very old pad of Basic Grey paper - I think I only have a couple sheets left of it - this stamp always makes me smile - so I know it will make many people smile because they are cards I made for Operation Write Home. The challenge (midweek throw down was to make a masculine card). I do believe this qualifies. I hope they put a smile on your face.
My dinner is made - yeah - will need to do laundry - watch the Sunday night football game - and I need to rake the leaves into the street. The kids and I got them to the curb on Friday after much enjoyment by the kids with the leaf blower. Girls and boys enjoy a good powerful tool. Lots of smiles by all of them and by me also. It is something they look forward to every year.
Well I must go - keep moving - lots to do and I would like to make some more cards. Everyone have a wonderful day.
Card Details:
Size: 4.25 x 5.5

Tuesday - well at least the work day - is done with. Now just the evening fun. I had some not so lovely leftovers for dinner - really wanted to have pizza but I was good since I knew I had leftovers - another evening I think I will stop at Papa Murphys or Walmart - Walmart's pizza's in their deli - are not too bad and a good price - quality and price - very important.

I got my flu shot today so hopefully I will be well all year.

I actually have a birthday card made on time - I still have about 6 to catch up on but that will come - I am in the process of doing that. My birthday person loves monkeys and orange so she is getting both.

Everyone have a wonderful evening - hopefully I will get some creating done tonight also.

Card details:
Size: Just under 6 inch square
Paper: My Mind's Eye and Crate Paper
Stamp: Inky Antics colored with Copics
SRM Sticker

The purple/penguin saga continues .......

Good Monday morning – a quick post before I head out the door to work – it is oldie moldie Monday and the purple/penguin saga continues – I think I still have more paper left – come back next week – although I do think I have used all my penguin stamps now so I need to start repeating stamps.

These cards for me – as you can see – I added Stickles – when I create for Operation Write Home – no glitter so I don’t use my Stickles. It felt good to Stickle again. I used my new die cut from Sizzix which also embosses - aren't those purple snowflakes fun. I even made a few birthday cards this week end. Trying to catch up.

Everyone have a great day – we are celebrating Boss’s Day – we are having a soup luncheon – Pasta Fagoli, salad, bread and dessert. Yummy. I bet there will be leftovers also.

Size: 4.25 x 5.5
Stamps: Card one - Inkadinkado; Card Two - Great Impressions

Saturday, October 16, 2010

A very quick post today for a very quick card. I do have problems doing clean and simple cards so like to do the sketches at Clean and Simple - new sketch every Friday.

This card is pretty clean and simple. I first cut down my card base so it fit exactly in a cuddlebug folder and embossed the entire front of the card. I think the card is about 4 x 5. I wanted to make masculine cards for Operation Write Home so I had this new fish stamp I have not used before. I just ran some colored pencil over the fish body to make it green and then used some green paper for matting to add color to the card. The green and dark brown are scraps.

Everyone enjoy your day - I am trying to work on mass production - something I don't normally do - but it is easier to make cards for OWH if you make more than one card from a design. I just prep and put inside a box and on those nights when there is no creativity - I can assemble - or take it to work and do it during my lunch hour. I could probably strong arm some co workers to help make cards during the lunch hour.

I must get back to cleaning my refrigerator - I think I found what died in there - I could have been doing a major medical experiment in that one drawer.

Stamps: Fish - is hiding but I bought at Hobby Lobby; sentiment - Hobby Lobby
Cuddlebug Embossing Folder

Friday, October 15, 2010

Good Friday evening - well got all my errands run this afternoon so now I can stay home and get some things done. Would you believe it is time to start making valentine cards for Operation Write Home - well I have 7 done - yeah.
These cards are all for OWH - some masculine cards - I love this truck stamp - and what man doesn't want to own a pick up. The first card is based on the sketch at the OWH card blog Stars and Stamps. I just kep going.
Everyone have a wonderful evening - want to see if I can get some more card laid out - going for the multiple cards of same design. You get more done and it is amazing how many cards you can make out of a couple coordinating sheets of paper.
Of course - you will want to come back Monday - for Oldie Moldie Monday - to see the continue purple and penguin saga.

Wednesday, October 13, 2010

Good Wednesday evening - yeah it is hump day and so now we are into the downward slide toward the week end - I am hoping to get caught up enough at work so I can take off some of Friday. I hope.
I am hoping (I keep hoping) that we have a nice breeze come through blowing to the East - blow the leaves off my trees and out of my yard. That isn't too nice is it. But I really would like them to be off the trees so we could rake them into the street.
The first card tonight is based on the sketch at Clean and Simple Stamping. I have problems doing clean and simple so I try to do their sketch. Of course, since you have the paper and stamps out - you should make another card or two. These cards will be for Operation Write Home.
Everyone have a wonderful evening.

Good evening - a very quick post to share my cards I made for the midweek challenge on Operation Write Home's card blog Stars and Stamps - a Christmas card. I made these two very quickly and obviously the light was not very good outdoors when I took the pictures. This is a new stamp I got at Hobby Lobby - it is their house brand. The paper was from the never ending oldie moldie paper.
Everyone have a wonderful evening.

The purple penguin saga continues .....

Stamp: Darcie's

Stamp: Savvy Stamps

Good Monday morning – last week was a hard week so no creating was really done. Sorry for the lack of posts. Of course, today is Oldie Moldie Monday – and I thought I would continue the “Purple/Penguin saga”. I found two more penguin stamps in my stamps so had to make more purple cards. I have found one more penguin stamp so the purple penguin saga will continue – actually I just want to use up all this purple grouping and have it gone.

I am packing up my third box for Operation Write Home – 115 cards in this box – the majority are holiday and winter cards. Guess where all the purple penguin cards are going. I know they will make someone smile. My 8 year old niece helped me get the cards ready to go – she put the stickers on the back of the card and then put the adhesive on the liners. She did a pretty good job – she was picking out stamps that she liked. I have lots of ideas for what to put on her birthday card in December.

We had a small family gathering to celebrate my Mom’s 92nd birthday. She had to bake her own pies for the party but you should have seen the eyes of the great grandkids light up when I said there was pie for dessert. Are you pie person or a cake person? My family is a pie family.

Everyone have a wonderful Monday – my Monday is jam packed – but at least I don’t have to go anywhere after work – I can come home and watch Dancing With the Stars.

Tuesday, October 5, 2010

Good evening - I have had my haircut tonight so I feel like a new woman. Now to try and get somethings done before it is time to go to bed - of course - must watch Dancing With the Stars - I wonder who will go home tonight. I didn't get to watch all the people dance so have no idea what will happen.
My card tonight is based on the Sunday sketch from the Operation Write Home Stars and Stripes. It has layers - yeah. I love the soft warm colors of this paper grouping from Kaiser Scrapbooking. This stamp from Hero Arts is a favorite also - one color stamping - yeah - makes my job easy.
Well everyone have a wonderful evening - I must go do some house work - YUCK.

Guess what – I found three more penguins – so make sure you come back next week for another chapter in this continuing saga – “Purple and Penguins”.

Several of these cards will be sent to Operation Write Home. I know they will bring smiles to the soldiers and the people who receive the card.

Sunday, October 3, 2010

Good Sunday morning - I feel like my day is over I have accomplished so much this morning. Maybe I now need to take a break, watch football and make some cards. Sounds like a good plan to me.

Did you celebrate World Card Making Day yesterday? I did - I made maybe 6 or 7 cards yesterday and worked on some cards I have in the works for Operation Write Home. I need to get some personal cards made also - I am behind on birthdays - YIKES.

Today's card is being sent to a friend to say Hello. It is based on the sketch at The Sweet Shop . I have them linked on my blog for a Saturday sketch but I don't know if I have done them before. They always have lots of layers so that is right up my alley - the more layers - the better.

Well I need to get going and keep on this work flow - sheets are washed so need to get the bed made and have some lunch. I forgot to eat breakfast so an early lunch is in order. Have a wonderful day.

The card I am sharing today is based on the sketch at Operation Write Home's card blog Stars and Stamps - I dug out some paper - love the colors on this paper - must make my Mom a card - or I may send this card to her - she could use a hug.
I am not too talkative this morning - not enough coffee in my system yet - so I will close and get ready to play with cards today. Everyone enjoy your day.

Friday, October 1, 2010

Oh my - how did it get to be October already. I guess it is time to go on leaf watch and hope my oak trees drop their leaves soon so I can get them raked - of course - that is a neighborhood fun time - all the kids come over and rake so they can play in the piles - they also love to use the leaf blower. I do enjoy that time with the kiddos.
The card I am sharing today is based off the sketch from 2 Sketches 4 You - thank you for encouraging me to use the die cuts I bought (Tim Holtz alterations). I love how the card turned out - I think I may make some more for holiday cards. It was actually very easy. The pleating of the ribbon took the longest - I just handstitched it together and I love that little row of stitches on top. The tutorial on the Operation Write Home card blog was hand stitching so will put my card over there also.
Everyone have a wonderful day - we have a cold front coming in for the week end so I think it will be time to do some baking and make a pot of soup or chili. I did buy a new soup cookbook - I just need to get it back from a co worker. I have leeks in the refrig I need to use and the neighbors need to get their annual offering of apple cake.
