Oldie Moldie Monday

Monday - time to show some love for your old supplies.  As I was looking for something - who knows what now I found three pieces of Bo Bunny paper from the same collection.  One of the papers was a beautiful floral.  One of the other sheets was a beautiful paper for matting and one paper was great for stamping sentiments on.  I made six cards from this group of paper and they are all ready to go - the ones not on a white or cream card base are lined with coordinating paper also.

I made four of this particular design.  The location of the sentiment varies according to the placement of the flowers.

And then from the leftover pieces of all the three sheets of paper, I made this card.

I think I did OK.  So remember to show some love for your well aged supplies, they are still beautiful.  I now only have 999,996 sheets left to use.

Oldie Moldie Monday

Some Holiday Cheer for Oldie Moldie Monday.  I have never inked this cute moose.  He is a Hero Arts stamp.  The sentiment is from Paper Smooches.  The paper is from Bo Bunny.  I made two of these cards for a couple special young men in my life.

Oldie Moldie Monday

It is Oldie Moldie Monday - time to show some love to your old supplies.  I dug out a 6 x 6 pad of paper from Bo Bunny - one of my 5000 6 x 6 pads.  I have an addiction to 6 x 6 pads.  The stamp is one I have had for awhile and have not used too often - if ever.  It is from Inkadinkado.  I added texture to the image by heat embossing it with brown embossing powder.

The sentiment is a sticker from SRM Stickers.  I don't know who makes the pearls I used.  They are removed from their envelope.  I have even finished the inside of the card.  I also stamped the tree image on my envelope so it would not be naked.  It gives the recipient a hint of what is waiting for them inside.

Paper Smooches Snowman Greetings

Once again, I am sliding in at the last minute with my card for the weekly challenge at Paper Smooches Spark Challenge blog.   

This week it is their Designer Drafts Challenge - or sketch challenge for July.  It is a cute sketch.

Of course, I had to add lots of layers.  Lots and lots of layers.  I was hoping the white and kraft will offset the business of the patterned paper.  It is time to start on those holiday cards so I found one of Paper Smooches wonderful snowmen for the card.  Instead of the scalloped edge on the picture, I cut a scalloped frame with my Silhouette Cameo and offset it from the picture.  The snowman and greeting are pop dotted for some dimension.

I am hoping there is a new set of snowmen coming out this year from Paper Smooches but in the meantime you can go shop at their store and fine other great stamps and die sets.

Well now that I have had some paper therapy it is time to go outdoors and get some dirt therapy.  The flower beds need a little attention.  Enjoy your Saturday.

Friday With Unity

I am trying to use some of my supplies.  I have a box of Unity Stamps and I want to start using them.  Hard to believe but it is time to start thinking about winter/holiday cards for Operation Write Home.  Penguins are always popular and this sentiment makes it possible to use the card all winter.

Addicted to CAS

The current challenge on Addicted to CAS is transport.  I almost reached for my favorite truck stamp but - no wait - you used that on their last challenge Texture.  Guess what this card could have been posted for Texture also.  I guess I always reach for the embossing folders when I am doing a CAS card.  Simple way to add a little more dimension to your design.

I believe I bought this card stock in a package at Tuesday Morning.  It has enough color in it to also add a nice element to a CAS card.  I stamped the car with a chalk ink from Clearbox.  I don't know who the company is for the stamp unfortunately.  The packaging is no longer on the stamp set.  The sentiment is from Hero Arts.  The patterned paper I used is from Bo Bunny - just enough to add a little color to the card.  It is actually a winter collection but I love the colors.  I cut some small circles to scatter around and of course, a masculine transport card has to have some chrome on it - so I added the two silver whatch a majiggies. (new words)

I am also entering the card in the current challenge at Inkspirational Challenges which is to make a CAS card.  I love it when things some together so nicely and you can get double bang out of a card.

Oldie Moldie Monday

On Sunday we had an event in Milwaukee for Operation Write Home to introduce people to the organization and making cards for our Heroes.  I made some kits to work on while I was at the event.  I did use some of my supply of paper.  Here is one kit.

The sentiment is a digital designed by Paula - an active Operation Write Home cardmaker.  She has several other digitals on her site.  I have a file saved with 6 of these on a sheet.  They fit perfectly in a spellbinders circle die I have.  I cut my other circles with the Silhouette - so much faster.

Here is my next kit.

This is a birthday card (duh - that is pretty obvious).  The paper is from Imaginisce.  I have an entire of birthday paper so I need to make some more cards out of it.

Too bad it is Monday.  The week ends go so fast.

The Hardest Card To Make

I believe a sympathy card is so hard to make especially when the person is very dear to you and someone in their family passes away.  You hope that your card will bring them some comfort.

My thoughts are with my friend and her family today as they celebrate the life of their loved one.

Day 5 What Is On Your design Table?

Sandy - from Operation Write Home - has a call out for some penguin cards.  I found this cutie all colored (in fact there are a few more) on my design table.  Luckily there was a 6 x 6 pad of Bo Bunny paper on the table.  I tried to pick out paper that was not Christmasy or too winter like.  The die cut was on my table also.  I did cheat on the embossing folder - I did take that off the shelf - the only one on my table was one with birds and flowers on it - I didn't think it would work.

Oldie Moldie Monday - time to show some love for your old supplies.  The stamp is a dollar stamp and this is another stamp that I have gotten lots of use out.  My return on investment is off the walls on this tool.  The paper is a 6 x 6 pad from Bo Bunny.  I don't know how old it is.

The cards are for my next Operation Write Home box.  Lots of little kids with parents who are deployed.  They love to get cards.  We all love to get cards in the mail.

Think Pink

The challenge on Cut It Up is to Think Pink and of course use a die cut.  I had some die cuts on my desk and a piece of this pink Bo Bunny Paper.  Pink and black are such a beautiful combination.  I adhered the die cut to the pink paper and I then embossed it with my Cuddlebug.  The pink was matted with black.  I added this black lace.  I thought it needed just a little bit more so I added the black flower and pink gem.

This card will go in my next Operation Write Home box.

Holla Oldie Moldie Monday

This card started out as a sketch challenge and then it took a detour.  I like how it turned out.  It will bring a smile to my assistant's mother's face.  She had surgery and Sonia will be visiting her this week so she can hand deliver the card.  I will have Sonia help me write a message in Spanish to her Mom.

The "holla" sentiment is from Unity Stamps.  The flowers are from Hero Arts.  The paper - oldie moldie Monday paper - is from Making Memories.  It has pretty paper in it - I should get busy and make some more cards.  The yellow and pink are basics from Bo Bunny that I always have a supply of.  I cut the doily shape with my Silhouette.  I added Glossy Accents to the center of the flowers.  The twill tape was in my supplies.

I Wuf You

Isn't this the sweetest stamp from Whipper Snapper Stamps?  A stamp that can be used for anything - not just valentines day.

I made three of these for my next Operation Write Home box - I can picture a parent sending it home to one of their children for a birthday - heck you could send it to a "so called adult" also.

The pattern paper is from Bo Bunny.  The embossing folder is from Hobby Lobby.

Everyone enjoy your evening - I am trying to reduce root beer - hoping not to burn it up in the pan - hmmm - I wonder who did that on Sunday.

Thanks for Your Kindness

It is only the beginning of January and I am ready to dig out my spring colors and think warmth - of course - that may be because I have friends who are heading to Florida for the winter.  I would love to just lay in the sun and soak in some sunshine - oh well - maybe the sun will shine and I could lay on the floor in front of the patio door like a cat or dog.  Don't worry folks - I won't do that.

The weekly challenge on CAS-ual Friday is to make thank you cards.

I did some white embossing on a Bo Bunny paper- I found the yellow in my scrap bin and thought it would add a "sunny" touch to the card.  Dug out my scallop border die from Paper Trey Ink.  The scalloped rectangle was cut on my Silhouette.  The butterflies are one of the Martha Stewart butterfly punch.

OWH Virtual cardmaking party

Operation Write Home is having a virtual cardmaking party this week end.  Every couple hours a new challenge comes up.  I don't know how many I will get done but I had to participate in this one.

My fellow Cheesehead Cindy is sponsoring a challenge - snowflakes but not Christmas.  Cindy is a BIG fan of Whipper Snapper Stamps and since I had just bought a new one last week end - I brought it out to play along with Cindy's challenge.  I like this stamp.  I have a special group of friends and this stamp will be used for their holiday cards.

The image is stamped with Memento Ink, colored with Copics, added some Glossy Accents, and chalked around the snowman with some light pink to make Mr. Flaky stand out.  The white background is embossed.  The paper is from Bo Bunny.  I think I bought some big sheets of this - I hope I can find it to make some cards out of.

Oldie Moldie Monday

Monday - time to show some love to some of your old supplies - this pear paper - 8 x 8 sheet - is from Making Memories I believe.  I thought it would make some great "love" cards with a good pun for Operation Write Home - Great Pear - the gold is paper from Bo Bunny and the brown is another old sheet along with the red.

The sentiment was created on the computer.  I know there is another 8 x 8 sheet of that pear paper somewhere around here.

Webster's Pages and Merry Monday Challenge

I really think this should be an Oldie Moldie Monday post because I have had this paper for a year or two - but it is not.  It is a card for the Merry Monday challenge on Always Playing With Paper - a sketch challenge for making Christmas cards.

These are quite funky colors - I will have to pick who gets this Christmas card - some people may not appreciate non traditional cards.  The paper is a 6 x 6 pad from Webster's Pages - I have used some of this paper for non Christmas cards also.  The sentiment is a Hero Arts stamp that I heat embossed in white.  The card base and other pink is a bling paper.  I don't think it is the Bazzill because it does not have any texture to it.  The gold is Bo Bunny.

Thank You, Paint and Ink

I guess tonight was the night to get messy.  We lost power at work this afternoon so I came home early and I took a little nap - maybe I should do that every afternoon when I get home from work - hopefully it does not affect my falling asleep tonight.  It is amazing how much you can not do without power and I hate sitting around work and not being able to work - one of my busiest times - so I needed to get out of there. 

My card tonight is a thank you card but I wanted to try something different - I got out my acrylic paints and painted my cardstock - I then stamped on the painted cardstock with a chalk ink from Colorbox.  I kinda like how it turned out - especially the dots on the painted card front.  The midweek challenge on the Operation Write Home card blog Stars and Stamps is Thank You cards in honor of Dixie - one of our shippers who recently retired from her post - now she will have all this time to make cards.  

Simon Says challenge is "Anything Goes" and I will be entering my card in their challenge.

So get out and be messy and see what you can come up with - it is lots of fun.

Bo Bunny Sketch Challenge

Good morning - I was busy yesterday making my own holiday cards - I have a few done - come back all this week to see more - I have been working through sketches that are online this week and challenges also.  I even mass produced one - to me mass production is 4 cards.  I have been using some older supplies also. 

I have finally realized I have lost my mind - I was going through my 6 x 6 pads - and have found I have bought several of the same design - I think 3 or  actually - Hopefully I do like the paper in each of those pads to use lots of.  As I have said before - I love 6 x 6 pads. 

My card today is based on the Tuesday card sketch challenge on the Bo Bunny site.  I had a different stamp in mind but could not locate it - of course I wanted a deer - so remembered I had this one - unfortunately it is loose rubber so I do not know the company.  I have two pads of this Bo Bunny collection - did not realize that until yesterday - glad I love the colors in it.

Everyone have a good day.  I came down with a cold so I am trying to hopefully get through the worst of that today.  I did nap yesterday afternoon and may do the same today. 

It is official - Christmas is less than 30 days away.  YIKES.  Everyone enjoy your day.

Bo Bunny Sketch Challenge for Operation Write Home

BoBunny is sponsoring a sketch challenge for Operation Write Home.  You can find the challenge at this link.  It was a fun sketch because it had so many layers and I love layers - a one layer card - what is that - naked - some people can make a one layer card and it is beautiful - but not me.  So all these layers  were wonderful for me to play with.

I had recently purchased the 6 x 6 pad of BoBunny Father Christmas Collection.  The image and sentiment were also in the package.  I did reverse where the sentiment was.  I could have very easily put the bow on the other side but I did not.
