Sunday - February 28

Good Sunday evening - where did that 3 day week end go. It was a good week end. So now this post is going to be short because something happened to my first post. Hopefully this one works.

The card is based on the Tuesday Trigger on Moxie Fab World. The Tuesday Trigger was a beautiful yellow card. This is my take on the trigger. I used kraft paper, yellow, have a bow with a button on it and a border at the top of the card. It also qualifies for the challenge on Caardvarks which is to use a sticker. I finally found the SRM stickers for cards at a store in Madison. Yeah. Such an easy way to finish off a card.

Everyone have a wonderful evening - I need to do some laundry, etc. Dishes - I cooked today - so I have a mess to clean up. Come back tomorrow for Oldie Moldie Monday.

Saturday - February 27, 2010

Good Saturday evening. A quick post tonight. Was on the raod today - went and visited with my mom - she is 92 years old - an amazing woman - we got groceries and went out to lunch - we had a visit after lunch from the youngest grandchild who is 7. Lots of driving in one day but I do not trust winter weather. Of course, on the way home, I had to take a break and do a little retail therapy - I aws good I did not buy anything at Archiver's - I had no coupon and nothing really spoke to me so I left there and went to the Scrapbook Superstore. I did manage to buy a few things there. I didn't buy any stamps.

Everyone have a wonderful evening.

Friday - 2-26-2010

Good evening - I had a wonderful day with my friend Mary stimulating the paper crafting economy - took her to a new store she had never been to - so that is always fun to introduce Mary to someplace new. Bought lots of new stuff - more ribbon - as if I don't have enough. We had a nice lunch at Panera and then we went to a new Ben Franklin - we found the cutest project there that we are going to make - hopefully soon. And I bought more ribbon. I only bought two more stamps but when I got home - my Papertrey Ink order had arrived - so I am excited - I am going to play tonight. Check out some of the sketches and see what inspires me. I do need to make a birthday card this week end - purple in color.

Caardvarks is sponsoring a challenge using Stickers - the challenge is sponsored by SRM Stickers. The challenge is to use stickers - since I have no SRM Stickers - I used one of the beautiful Penny Black floral stickers - need a touch of spring in our snowy world.

Everyone have a wonderful evening and a great week end - I hope it includes lots of creativity.

Thursday, February 25

Good Thursday evening - I am so excited - I have the day off tomorrow from work and I feel good and I am spending it with a friend. I actually feel giddy about it. It is amazing when you have sick for a couple weeks - how wonderful it is to feel good. We may go shopping - I can show her some new shops I know she has never seen or we may just play.
I have enjoyed being able to create this week. My card tonight is based on the sketch at 2 Sketches 4 You. I don't know if I have ever made a card where I have free floating paper on the left side. I do it on the top sometimes. It was a fun sketch.
Everyone enjoy your evening. Team US is playing Canada in Women's Hockey for the gold - go USA. Later the Wisconsin Badgers (men) play basketball and figure skating is on also. I guess I will be doing a little channel jumping tonight.

Wednesday 2-24-2010

Good evening everyone - it is snowing again in Wisconsin - just light snow but 3 to 4 days of light snow adds up after awhile. Someone said Spring was coming - and I am hoping they are not telling a lie. We would settle for some sunshine also.

SRM Stickers blog has a challenge for the month of February to use chipboard and stickers. So far I have not been able to find any SRM Stickers to buy around me so I know they are selling their stickers online so I am going to place my order. They have some great ones for cards which is what I create.

I used the stickers I had in my supplies - one on the tree and another one on the little tag. Luckily I had some coordinating chipboard and paper in my supplies.

My card tonight is for my assistant's birthday. I know she will like it. She is a quilter so she appreciates the effort that goes into a handcrafted card. I usually give her a group of handmade cards for her gift also. Two weeks of not creating due to my cold has put me a little behind. I had better get busy this week end.

Everyone have a wonderful evening.

Tuesday - 2/23/10

Good Tuesday evening. Busy day at work plus we had the Olympic Potluck which was fun and very tasty. We had some great food and great sharing of friendship - you don't always get to share time with the people you work with in your building. This brings many of us together in a social outing. Needless to say I am really not too hungry. I am sure eventually I will want to eat something.

My card tonight is based on the weekly sketch at the Card Positioning Systems. A new sketch every Sunday. I made this card to send to an online friend who I have become close to. Her husband was wounded in Afghanistan in October 2008. Today Ty turned 40 - God does work miracles. The family is not far my heart so wanted to sent a card. Anna is one of the most creative women I know so I know she appreciates everything you do for you.

Everyone enjoy your evening. I hope to do a little creating tonight. I hope.

Oldie Moldie Monday 2-22-10

Good morning - I normally post in the evening but I am up and early today so I might as well do something worthwhile - post on my blog - I could do housework, etc. but that would be no fun.

On Monday's I try to post cards that I have made with paper I have had sitting around the house gracefully aging. Actually most of the cards that I made over the week end are from well aged paper.

We had snow last night but the storm went south of us so we are not getting dumpled on - a couple inches is much easier to handle than 10 inches. The drive to work shouldn't be too difficult. Living in Wisconsin - they are well prepared to take care of the snow on the roads.

Today's first card is based on the sketch at Get Sketchy. I had colored the image while I was sick so I was waiting for a sketch challenge that used a big circle. The second card was roaming around in my head so I put it onto paper. I got my excercise doing all those rubons.

Everyone have a wonderful day.

Paper, rub ons, button – Imaginisce
Brad – Target Bin
Stamp – Stampendous colored with Copics

Sunday - February 21, 2010 Dragonfly Card Drive

I have finally joined the ranks of people who finally feel good. Two weeks with a horrible cold zapped everything out of me - not only was it the cold but I had a reaction to a medicine which contributed to my exhaustion. But I am better - and I got to create and I also got some housework done. Yeah!! All ready for the next snow storm to come through. Boo - hiss.
My first card is based on the weekly sketch at Taylored Expressions - Taylor is also sponsoring the Dragonfly Card Drive which benefits Sanford Medical Center in Sioux Falls, SD - Neonatal Intensive Care Unit to support families who have lost a child in the early days of their life. You can read more about the Dragonfly Card Drive at this link. If a card that I have made can comfort a family in their time of loss I am very humbled by the opportunity to make some cards for this worthwhile card drive.

Patterned Paper - Basic Grey (the patterned paper has dragonflies on it - I just added Stickles to the dragonflies to make them show more more.

Time Out for a Cold

Sorry for no posts lately - I have had a bad cold and it has laid me low for almost 3 weeks. I have not done any creating. I hope to be back soon.
There is hope I have shopped online once and am going to place another order tonight.
Everyone stay well.

Wednesday - 2-10-2010

Good evening - I seem to be having a few issues tonight - decided to just scan instead of doing a photo - well you can see what we got and where it put it - and I feel so lousy - I am not going to fight tonight. I did work around 6 hours today - hit the wall of no return - and came home. I still have a sidewalk of snow that needs to be plowed - my sidewalk was clear when I went to bed - but the city came through and plowed and filled it up. It made me want to cry - I may still cry. I have called my neighbor and asked him to come over so hopefully he will take mercy upon Neighbor Grandma and do it for me.
Tonight's card is based on the sketch at 2 Sketches 4 You A valentine card for one of my student workers. I know she will enjoy it.
Everyone have a wonderful evening.

Tuesday - 2-9-10

Good snowy Tuesday morning to you all. Yes it is snowing in Wisconsin - at least it covers all the dirty snow out there. I am still home sick but this morning I actually felt maybe I had turned the corner.

I made a quick card last night to send to my son in law who just got a job in his area of study. He is very excited. I used the sketch from Taylored Expressions - I just put the stripe at the bottom over the top of my image - I wanted to highlight the blue. I don't have much left of this BG paper - I really liked it for masculine projects. It could have qualified for Oldie Moldie monday also. The Hero Arts stamp is so versatile - male/female, different occasions, etc.

Thanks everyone for stopping by and now I am thinking it must be about time for the morning nap.

Oldie Moldie Monday 2-8-10

Oldie Moldie monday returns - I am still sick - did go to the clinic - I just have a horrific cold that has settled in my head - gave me an expensive decongestion. Hope it works - I do want to return to work - I hate being home when you don't feel good - there are no good shows on TV - don't feel like crafting. We are suppose to have a snow storm tomorrow - so another good day to be a home rather than on the roads.
Tonight's card is made from a paper pad from Hot Off the Press - I am thinking it will also make some great Easter/Spring cards also.
Everyone enjoy your evening.

Sunday - February 7, 2010

Good afternoon on Super Bowl Sunday. Do you have any exciting plans for the game? I have been sick since Thursday with a cold which doesn't seem to be getting better so I am going to watch it from my couch under my blankets with my box of kleenex very close. You know I feel pretty terrible when I don't even want to make a card.

This card is based on the sketch at OCC Weekly Sketch. A very versatile sketch. I will keep this short - I need to go make a cup of tea and head back to the couch.

Tuesday - 2/2/10

Good Tuesday evening - we had some snow fall last night so tonight when I got home I had to clear out the end of the driveway. Luckily I have a little snowblower that can handle light snow so I got my exercise - that is a 4 letter word.
Going to take soup to a friend's house tomorrow night so I need to do the prep work - the broth is made - simmered the bones from the Xmas turkey - it was residing in the freezer. Tonight I will chop up onion, carrots and celery. I will take some frozen green beans and peas and then I have a bag of my Mom's homemade egg noodles. The soup will be very good and the best part is sharing it with friends. A can of Campbell's chicken soup shared with friends would taste wonderful also.
Tonight's card was based on the sketch at Stamps and Smiles weekly challenge. It did start with the sketch - but sometimes your cards take on their own life.
Everyone have a wonderful evening - I hope to play with some paper. I also want to watch a basketball game tonight.
Cardbase - Dollar store in Canada (thank you Ivanka)
Patterned Paper - Hot Off the Press and Daisy D's

Oldy Moldy Monday Returns - 2-1-10

Good evening - yes - Oldie Moldie Monday returns - Ivanka and I decided we needed to focus on using our "well aged paper" so tonight we start again. Check out her blog to see the beautiful things she has created. You know we must make room for new paper.
The paper I chose tonight - I used last week on a card and I think I have enough left to finish the insides of the 3 cards is from Bo Bunny - I love the color combinations and patterns in this grouping.
I used the sketch at Card Patterns for the design of the first card. The second card was basically using scrap pieces and making them work into the card. I kinda like how the image sticks up above the card. It will still fit into an A2 envelope.
The sentiments of each card were a free digital download from The Rubber Punkin
Everyone enjoy your evening - I have some images colored so hope to make a couple cards tonight. Valentine's Day is fast approaching.
