Oldie Moldie Monday on Tuesday

I have been such a lazy blogger.  I have been creating but I don't get the pictured downloaded and blog post made.

I have been working on some projects for a craft fair that my friend does for Hospice in Seneca, SC.

Today I made wine bottle tags.  I cut everything with my Silhouette and stamped the sentiment.

I have made over 20 of these.  I should make more - great way to use up old supplies.  If you have double sided paper - you can get the tags and the mat for the sentiment.

Warm Wishes

Over the week end I participated in a few challenges for World Card Making Day.  One challenge was to use old but never used items (hmmmm am I the only one who buys and never used her stuff).  I dug out a stamp and die set and an embossing folder and went to town.

I needed some contrast on the white so I took a stiff brush and softly brushed a distress ink over the top of the die cut panel.  I then ran it through my embossing folder.  The penguin was stamped, colored and die cut.  He is added with foam dots.  The sentiment was added using the Misti.  I have kitted about 10 of this card.  Some for my holiday cards and some for my friends big craft fair she is involved with for Hospice in South Carolina. 

I still think I need something in the blue area.  Maybe I will punch out some snowflakes and add them.

I am entering this into the challenge at Addicted to Stamps and More where the challenge is Holiday.

Happy Little Stampers October ATC Challenge

Do you like to make those little pieces of art called ATC's (artist trading cards).  Happy Little Stampers has a new challenge for ATC's.  This month the theme is travel.

I do not have too many things in my enormous amount of supplies that is travel related.  For some reason I had a box down that I had placed some stickers I was going to put in a rummage sale and there was the Eiffel Tower Sticker along with the other one that said Paris on it.  This started my ATC.

I had a piece of cardboard cut from a recycled box of tea.  I gessoed the cardboard and then colored it with distress oxide inks.  (OMG I do love to play with those.).  I added the largest Paris sticker on the front of the ATC and then placed the Eiffel Tower sticker on top.  I used some of the other stickers from both collections to add some more interest to the front of the ATC.

I then used the black soot distress oxide ink around the edges of the ATC and used a brush to blend it.  I also smooshed some of the pinks I used and added  them to the images I had put on the front of the ATC.  I found a perfect little sticker quote to add to the front.

Anything But A Card

The challenge on the Monday challenge blog for Simon Says Stamp is "anything but a card."

I had surgery at the end of August and so was not feeling up to my normal card making but I have done lots of journal pages.  It was wonderful healing.

Here is the page.  My sister had given me a bag of fabric scraps so you can see there are some ofthose on this page also.  I made a nice little collage with them and stitched them together with my sewing machine.  I even did some journaling.

Here is a close up of the flower.  The flower was cut with my Silhouette.  I rolled fabric and made the center for the flower.  It is very dimensional.

I love using bright colors as you can tell from this journal page.

Oldie Moldie Monday and Happy Card Making Day Collide

So over the week end, a private group I am in celebrated World Card Making Day.  We all met through our love of making cards.  Different people hosted challenges every two hours. 

I hosted the first challenge - and since I try to always do Oldie Moldie Monday - my challenge was to use supplies that you have had in your supplies for a few years.  I believe my paper pad had a 2012 date on it and I know the stamp is very old also. 

There are many layers of patterned paper on this card, a piece of burlap, and brown twine.  The bow was made with seam binding which I colored with a spray called Tea.  The sentiment is a new stamp set from Penny Black.  I thought the jolly fit this Santa very well.

Happy Little Stampers Anything Goes With Dies October Challenge

Time to get out all those dies you have accumulated and make a card for the October Happy Little Stampers Anything Goes With Dies Challenge.  

I love to make fall cards.  When I made this card, I was on a Washi Tape journey (last month's die card used washi tape also).  I had accumulated many rolls of tape that were fall in color so they were added to the card front. 

I started with a kraft card base and everything was built on top of it.  The majority of my cards have many layers on them.  I took a cream mat and added the layers of washi tape on the front.  I just wrap the edges around to the back of the mat.  This card has four different washi tapes on it.  The sentiment was heat embossed onto the bottom of the card.

I die cut a cream oval and a slightly larger dark brown oval.  I adhered them together and then die cut the oak leaf out of the center.  This was mounted onto the card front with foam tape. 

The cream mat was matted with the same dark brown.  All this was adhered to the kraft card front.  Of course, I then had to use a gold spray to add more depth to it.  I love to make fall cards and I love leaves.

I decided to add washi tape to my envelopes.  This is the back of the envelope.

Here is the front of the envelope.  I do hope this tape stays on going through the post offices.

The inside of the cards also have a coordinating piece of washi tape.

World Card Making Day

I was busy creating yesterday and celebrating World Card Making Day.  I was playing along with challenges with a group of online friends.

The card today was made for a challenge for Thanksgiving. 

I am going to enter this card in Simon Says Stamp World Card Making Challenge. 

There were lessons learned on this card.  I do love the background I made.  I had seen somewhere on the world wide web where they had used an acrylic block and stamped distress inks in long lines.  I had a narrow long acrylic block so I tried it.  After I had stamped the blocks of color I then blended one of the brown oxide inks over all of it.  Here is the first lesson:  if you are going to spray a gold mist on your panel, wait until after you do your heat embossing.  I had to brush away lots of stray embossing powder.  I thought the spray was dry. 

Next lesson - have your brain activated when you do your stamping.  Neatly hidden under that beautiful strip of fabric is another So Very.  I did not need that said twice.  Thank goodness for embellishments.

Next lesson - stamp one sentiment and heat emboss.  Then stamp your second sentiment (for you) so that you get the placement much better.  It looks OK but I think it should have been closer. 

This leaf stamp from Concord and 9th is so beautiful.  I have made many cards with it this fall.
