Good Tuesday evening - on the news tonight they said that Florida was the only state without snow - even Hawaii had snow in some mountains. It snowed lightly all last night and today - so the sidewalks and driveway need to be cleared - I did clear the sidewalks when I got home and now I am watching UW Madison basketball game - go Badgers. After the game I will head outdoors and finish up my driveway. The joy of living in a snow state.

The card I am sharing tonight is for my son in law Chris - he has a long battle with cancer before him so I wanted to add a smile to his day. Chris likes to fish and he has a wonderful sense of humor so I know he will appreciate the little pun also. The fish is a digi from I Brake for Digis - I just printed it on my base paper - I just lined three of them up and then I printed them on a contrast color and cut them out. I really like the way it turned out. I added some Stickles to the bubbles. I based the card design on the weekly sketch from The Sweet Stop.

You need to come back tomorrow night and see "A Birthday Fish" - the versatility of digis - the different sizes you can make them.

Good Monday evening - I was out of the house and at work shortly after 6 this morning so no time to do a Monday post - I will be posting in the evening this week - Need to feel like I am in control of work rather than work controlling me - hopefully by the end of the week that will be the truth and I can enjoy my three day week end.

I did get a couple cards made - I actually did some more out of these same papers and stamp but they are not put together. The cards are all from Operation Write Home - Everyone loves Snoopy. I have a whole pack of this paper - it is from 2 Daisies Designs - it is several years old. I like the colors - makes a nice masculine card.

The design of the card is based on the weekly sketh on the Operation Write Home card blog - Stars and Stamps I did a card in each direction.

Let's think about spring - it is so chilly - and it is not even the middle of January yet. I guess I just have to adjust - eventually I will have to go out and buy food - I go to work - I come home - I go no where else.

I made some Easter cards last week end. These cards are for Operation Write Home - need to get a jump start on the holidays plus bunnies are pretty easy to color. I like that. I did use some scraps of paper on this - the plaid was a new sheet of paper that spoke to me at the store - it screamed spring. The paper with words on it came from Hobby Lobby - I find that is an easy way to make a card if you can find paper that has your sentiment on it.

Everyone stay warm - I am hoping to make some more cards tonight.

Good Wednesday morning - why is it that during the work week - you could sleep in the morning and on the week end - we are wide awake when it is the time we normally go to work. At least today is hump day.

The cards I am sharing for you today are cards for Operation Write Home - do you like to make cards, do you have lots of card making supplies, do you like to buy new stuff for card making, do you like to make people happy - then Operation Write Home is for you. Why not put your talent, desire to help people, and use up some of your supplies to a good use. Make cards for Operation Write Home. And to top it all off - it is tax deductable.

I had 4 6 x 6 sheets of coordinating paper - double sided - that I made these cards from. The first card is based on the weekly sketch on OWH's card blog Stars and Stamps. It felt good to use up those pieces of paper that have been floating around my work area for several years. I had just bought the stamp on the week end because I thought it would be a great stamp for OWH cards. The image will make everyone who sees the card smile.

Good evening - another busy day at work - but the day goes fast.

I hope that I will be able to play with paper tonight - I think I may try to make some cards for Operation Write Home - my goal is a card a day - or 7 cards a week - sometimes you get on a roll and you can get them all done at once. I will be posting some of my recent Operation Write Home cards later in the week. I used a new stamp I bought and if you need some Easter inspiration - stop by.

Today's card is based on the sketch at The Sweet Stop - I like all their layering and I had this new 6 x 6 pad from Basic Grey of their Hopscotch collection. This collection has some wonderful colors. The image for the card is a digital image from I Brake For Digis called appropriately Elephant. What a great value for $3.00 because you can print the image in any size you want. I printed the elephant on one of the plain colored patterned papers and also printed it on the alphabet patterned paper. I cut out the image on the plain colored paper and then I inked it up. I love how the coloring turned out and I just had to color her nails.

Good Sunday morning - today I must do laundry, dishes, get some groceries, etc - an entire work week - I haven't worked one of those for several weeks - reality returns in 2011. Plus it is a very busy time at work so no time to sit back - full steam ahead. I like being busy at work but not so busy that you don't know what to do first.

I spent some time creating yesterday. I have some birthday cards that needed to be made. I have one more to do for the month of January and I may get that one done today. If I get that one done - then I can start working on cards for Operation Write Home - my goal for the new year is one card a day - I may not get a card made each day - but hopefully 7 in a week. If you have extra supplies around, please make some cards for Operation Write Home. Just make sure you stop over and read the do's and don'ts of cardmaking for OWH.

My card today is for one of my son in laws - both son in laws have birthdays in December - that is a bad time of the year for a cardmaker - and of course who works ahead - maybe that should be a goal for next year. I bet both of them would be in shock if they got a birthday card near their birthday. I always have to send Chris his birthday card in the early part of January because his wife's birthday is January 7 - so he needs his card first. Come back tomorrow to see Staci's birthday card.

Chris's card is based on a sketch from Unscripted Sketches (you can use any of their sketches from 2010 this week - this card is based on sketch 35). I also found a new challenge site yesterday when I was blog hopping - it is called City Crafter Challenge Blog and their challenge this week is stamping. This truck stamp is one of my favorites - one color stamping - no coloring - easy peazey.

Happy New Year - 2011 - I hope the new year is full of happiness and health - if we have those we can live our life to the fullest.

I am enjoying a quiet week end at home - I have my daughter's dog as company - they are traveling - Mo is lots of company but she is a Husky so she is very hairy and we vacuum lots.

I did do some retail therapy yesterday. I had said I would not shop in January unless it was a necessity - I suppose I could make anything a necessity so I could buy it - but I just want to try to get through the month and not buy more paper stuff. I really do not need anything - I could create for years and years. Do you also have that problem or addiction?

I needed a baby card for a little girl and wanted to use this beautiful buggy image from I Brake For Digis. It is so beautiful in its lines. It could be colored but I liked just the beauty of the image on the patterned paper.

The design for the card started with Sketch #7 from Unscripted Sketches. It follows the sketch until we get to the sentiment - I didn't really have room for it alongside the buggy os I added it to the bottom of the card. I think I achieved balance with the image, bow and sentiment. Do you know what you do if your lace is white and you want it cream colored - you dip it in your leftover morning coffee- it is no longer white. The doily was also very white - but it took a coffee bath also - and came out a very nice creamy color to add to my vintage look. The flower is made from coffee filters cut with spellbinders - and guess what - they were dipped in coffee also to make them creamy colored. Now I want another cup of coffee.

Going to watch the Rose Bowl - the Wisconsin Badgers are playing - go Bucky. Everyone enjoy your day and have a wonderful 2011.
