Monday - time to show some love to your old supplies. An old monkey stamp from Stampendous. The paper isn't too old. Glossy accents were added to the bubbles which had a little glitter on them
This card is going to a young boy with a very tragic story. Hopefully it will cheer him up a little.
Remember to show your love for your old supplies - they still make great cards.

SRM Stickers, Stampendous and Sketch Saturday
I have been trying to get a summer fun card made for the SRM June Challenge - Summer Fun - finally the last day - I got a more relaxed summer fun card. I did submit a wedding card because that is lots of summer fun for many people.
There is a little boy in my hometown who is battling cancer so I try to send him a card every month or two. I thought this sweet monkey would bring a smile to his face. I hope he gets to relax and enjoy his summer also. I based my card on the sketch at Sketch Saturday.
I stayed pretty true to the sketch except I put a sentiment in the other corner of the sketch. The stamp is from Stampendous. The paper is by We R Memory Keepers.
Enjoy your Wednesday. One day closer to a long week end.

Oldie Moldie Monday and Friday Mashup Collide
When I saw the challenge on Friday Mashup - I got so excited. Mix patterned paper. Sometimes I think I am the queen of combining patterned paper.
We have a new co worker starting in the office. Several years ago I started making monkey cards for the new employee and leaving it on their desk for their first day. Welcome to the jungle is what it says on the inside.
I am slowly working on this 6 x 6 pad of Basic Grey paper. I don't seem to get more than one card made a week out of it. Busy times here and lots of cards to make. I finished up a canvas this week for a graduation present and am working on a wedding card for this upcoming week end.
Here is my card with lots of layers of patterned paper. How many layers are on it? There are only six layers on this card. What is your record for layers on a card.
The monkey is from Stampendous. The patterned paper is from Basic Grey. I cut the hello from recycled card stock and glued 4 layers together so it has some dimension. After I glued them together, I used the pile on lots of weight to make sure it dried flat. The card is a little smaller than the standard A2. I like it when you can let an element hang over the edge of your card.
Everyone enjoy your Monday. Another day of peddle to the metal this week at work and home.

Feminine Version of Monday's Card
I you check back on Monday's post you will see the same design for the card. This time I made a feminine version of the card. I am making a group of these cards for a demo I am doing and wanted to show how different the same sketch could look by just changing up the colors and elements.
This is a Stampendous Stamp. It will go in my next Operation Write Home Box.
I think I goofed up my next card with this design but I will keep it and show how sometimes things go wrong. Maybe when I am done - it will look OK. Maybe I will do some distressing, etc and make it kinda shabby. Come back tomorrow and check it out.

Welcome to the Jungle
We have a new person starting our office tomorrow so it has become my tradition to give them a monkey card the first day they start saying "hello" and on the inside it says "welcome to the jungle". Hopefully she will not be overwhelmed and stay with us for many years to come.
We also have a tradition to place a table outside the new person's office and put food on it to welcome them. We invite the other offices to stop by and meet the new employee and have a bite to eat. I think I need to go to the store and get some cheese spread - try to keep this a little healthy - cheese spread, hummus and crackers and pretzels.
I did make a batch of monster cookie bars but I am going to give those to the neighbors. I have not baked for them in a long time. Everyone enjoy the remainder of your Sunday.
I am starting on another mixed media project. This one is Christmas related.

Changito Visits Operation Write Home
My card for today uses some paper from Imaginisce (6 x 6 pad). I had six of this cute monkey stamped so finished coloring the ornament and hat and booties to coordinate with the paper I was going to use for the card. The sentiment strip is from one of the pieces of paper - I thought to was perfect for this image.
The card is based on the weekly sketch from Freshly Made Sketches.
It also works for the challenge on Shopping Your Stash weekly challenge which is fur or feather - I do believe Mr. Changito qualifies for fur.
I made two of this card - they are going in my next Operation Write Home Box - which will need to be shipped in October sometime - I just sent a box of 50 today - if you look back in this weeks posts you can see I am already working on valentine cards.

Freshly Made Sketches, Stampendous and My Mind's Eye
Tonight I am posting another card I have made for Operation Write Home. I based the design for the card on the weekly sketch at Freshly Made Sketches. I think this will make a great card to be sent home to a child.
Also - I liked the sketch from last week but never got a chance to make it so I made two of these cards. My Stampendous monkeys are getting a work out this month.
This paper is a 6 x 6 pad from My Mind's Eye. We have been having a discussion on how many cards you can get out of a 6 x 6 pad - so I am doing an unofficial experiment and will attempt to keep track. Of course, it really helps when your paper is double sided like this pad is. I also am lucky to have some nice colored card stock bases that work well with this paper collection.
Stay tuned - I do promise that not every post will be cards made from this particular pad. I do need variety in my creative life.

Stampendous - Welcome to the Jungle
I had a new assistant start work today and I have started the tradition - when a new person starts in the office - I make a monkey card - and write welcome to the jungle on the inside. A little something to make them feel welcome.
The July challenge at Stampendous is a citrus challenge - to use yellow, green or orange on your cards. I have an extensive collection of orange paper in my supply of patterned paper. Let's just say I have an ample/extensive/over abundance of patterned paper - but it is my first love in paper crafting.
I saw a new Changito stamp in the new releases from Stampendous. He got his pilot's license - very cute stamp.
Sonia liked her card and I hope she likes the jungle.
Have a wonderful day.

Stampendous and Operation Write Home
Well I thought the new router would help my slow upload of pictures to blogger but it didn't - I have to be patient - just do it and walk away for awhile. I got six images stamped while waiting for this picture to upload.
I had not bought a new Changito stamp in forever - well maybe last year for Christmas - so when I saw this stamp I had to get it. It would be so nice to lay on the ground and dream but I don't like to lay on dry brown stuff and we have no flowers. Summer in Wisconsin has been hot and dry - like much of the midwest.
Today's card will go into my Operation Write Home Box. I know it will bring smiles to many faces.
I am entering the card in Stampendous's July challenge of citrus - to use lime, yellow or orange. I combined a little bit of everything. The word dream was on the other side of my orange paper. I thought it was perfect to add to the card.
Everyone have a wonderful evening.

More Stampendous Monkeys
I am having so much getting all my monkeys out to play. They will bring so many smiles to people - all the monkey cards are going in my Operation Write Home Box. I have almost 50 cards ready to go and the majority are singles - I do not like to do multiples. I get bored.
As you can see both these cards use the same paper, the same image and sentiment but the layout is just a little different.
The monthly challenge at Stampendous is to use citrus colors in your projects. If you have been following my blog for awhile - you know that one of my student workers loved orange - and so I started to use it more in my cardmaking. Love to use it. Who would think that orange and pink could work so well together. So watch out Stampendous - I have lots more monkeys that need to get inked up and I am sure I can find some lime green, yellow and more orange to make cards. I am hoping next month it is Christmas since I have 3 Christmas/winter monkeys.

Hello Monkey
Good afternoon - had the day off work - I ran one errand today - and then have hung out at home - have not accomplished much so I need to get something done. I did make a card - the midweek throw down on Stars and Stamps (Operation Write Home card blog) is to make a card using monkeys. I have lots of monkey stamps - and I need to get them out and make cards and make people smile.
The other challenge I am entering this in is on the Moxie Fab Blog - there are celebrating the release of their new issue - Stamp It - and one challenge on Moxie Fab is a Hello card.
Everyone enjoy the remainder of your day - very hot here.

Stampendous and Jillibean Soup
Good evening - a quick share tonight - the June Challenge at Stampendous is to do summer items. I have all these Stampendous Changito stamps so this gave me a wonderful excuse to use them I had bought many of these stamps when a friend was battling breast cancer - I sent her a card each week and somehow it was mostly monkeys - the idea was to make Shari smile at least once a week. Breast cancer took Shari from us but I need to use my stamps to make other people smile. This card will be for my Operation Write Home box. I think many people will smile when they see this card.
The paper is from Jillibean Soup - Southern Chicken Dumpling - it is a spring collection - and the colors are so yummy. I cut the hello with my Silhouette and colored it with Copics - the same colors used on the flower around the face of the monkey.
I hope this card brings a smile to your face.

Happy Mother's Day
Happy Mother's Day everyone. I will be spending today with my Mom - she is 93 and we are blessed she is still in our lives.
My card share today is a card for Operation Write Home - (wierd angle on the photo taking so the image looks uncentered on the card) or I definately need to get that new prescription on my glasses.
This is the sketch on Operation Write Home's card blog - Stars and Stamps - every Sunday there is a new sketch to help your creativity.
The image is from Stampendous. Sentiment from Hero Arts and the paper is Lawn Fawn. Great colors in this 6 x 6 pad.
Everyone have a wonderful day.

JilliBean Soup, Stampendous, Unity Stamps and Operation Write Home
Good Sunday morning - I had lots of fun shopping yesterday and got some new supplies. Of course, several 6 x 6 pads jumped in my basket - I don't know how they do that. This paper is one of the stacks - It is from Jillibean Soup. The collection is called Southern Chicken Dumpling Soup and it has the most yummy pastel colors in it.
Sitting on my design mess (table) was this little monkey waiting to be colored - lucky for me - an easy color. (as you can see - I forgot to color the chest - kinda looks like she has a white Tshirt on underneath her tutu - it is now colored brown) so this card was born with the help of the weekly sketch from Operation Write Home card blog - Stars and Stamps. When I cut with my Silhouette - especially borders - I cut extra in basic colors so I have them when I want to create. I like the difference in sizes in the scallops on this border - gives a different look. The card seems naked to me and after I had it finished - I should have tied a bakers twine bow at the top - but I was not going to tear the card apart.
I just mailed Kris a box of 70 cards and I tried to send children, masculine, and normal (whatever we consider that) and hoping to do that for my next box. So this card I believe would be for a little girl. I love this sentiment from Unity Stamps. I think I will go add a little bling in the center of the flower. I am also going to put my sticker on the back and line them as I make the cards - it will help when it is time to mail them in.
Everyone have a creative day. Since I played (shopped) and then played yesterday - I must get some work done around the house - but I will get my Oldie Moldie card or cards made for tomorrow.

Orange You Glad It is Christmas
Did you know that a certain shade of orange has been named the color for the upcoming year. I started using orange more because it is the favorite color of one of my workers. Guess who this card is for. Try using orange - it is quite fun to use. The colors for the holidays are quite bright - this is a combination of several different paper companies, My Little Yellow Bicycle (a double sided orange patterned paper), Echo Park, My Mind's Eye and who knows what other paper jumped on this card. I do like it.
This co worker also has a thing for monkeys - thus the monkey card. The stamp is by Stampendous. It was colored with Copics and the lights, hat, and wire are highlighted with a Stardust pen to add sparkle to the card.
The card is loosely based on the weekly sketch at Card Patterns. I always "loosely" follow sketches.
Everyone have a wonderful Tuesday.

Stampendous + Echo Park + SRM Sticker = Cute
It has taken Blogger forever to upload this card. Finally - I am now exhausted from the waiting.
Stampendous has a monthly challenge to make a Clean and Simple Holiday card - and I ran across this image that was already colored - the colors match (fairly well) the colors in the Holly Jolly Christmas collection from Echo Park. I found the 6 x 6 pad last week end. Fun designs - I even bought a couple sheets of the 12 x 12 of the designs I knew I would use lots of.
This is also the sketch from Card Positioning System (kinda) - I couldn't cover up the image with a rectangle over the top so I left that part of the sketch off. An SRM Sticker was added to complete the card. The stripes were pop dotted and then the image was pop dotted double.
Also entered this in the CREATE magazine chevron challenge.
Looking forward to the week end and getting something done. I did some cleaning/clearing out - I believe there will be a trip to Goodwill in my future. Everyone have a wonderful week end.

Time to Monkey Around with a Cupcake
How about that for a catchy title? I have been making a monkey card for a friend going through s rough stretch right now - so this week we decided to hide the monkey inside the card - I love this little cupcake stamp with the sentiment so wanted to used that. I know when she opens the card (which by the way - opens backwards) will make her smile. I notice I forgot to color the little monkey's tongue.
The card is based on the challenge at Taylored Expressions - Cupcake Challenge which is posted each Friday. She has the cutest cupcake s tamps - I secretly covet them.
Cupcake Stamp - Studio G
Monkey - Stampendous Changito
all colored with Copics
Paper - Doodlebug Designs
Rickrack trim - Wrights
Stickers - $1 store
Martha Stewart Border punch
Everyone have an enjoyable evening - I got a couple more cards made today - I stand up to work on cards - so had to adjust that some to help my foot/toe.
