July Happy Little Stampers Stencil Challenge.

It is time for a new stencil challenge at Happy Little Stampers.  Come join us for some fun.

This is my first time designing for the stencil challenge.  I am also on the Christmas challenge team.  I wanted to try stencils because I have many stencils in my collection of supplies and thought I would better utilize  them if I was doing a challenge.  Of course, I did have to go buy some new ones also.

The challenge is "anything goes" which makes it very fun to do.

My card is a mixed media card.  The background is coffee died paper.  I then used a circle stencil to add detail to the background of the card.  I used Distress Oxide Ink Speckled Egg color for the circles.  I matted the background with black and stitched around it with my sewing machine with black thread.

The branch is the stencil.  I put the stencil over coffee dyed music sheet paper and colored in the openings with my inkintense pencils.  I used a water brush to activate the colors on the leaves.  I drew around the branch with a fine black pen outlining all of it.  I then fussy cut the branch out.  The branch was glued at an angle onto the front of the card.  The sentiment was matted with black card stock also.  To complete the look of the card, I added black splatters.

Here is a close up of a leaf and you can see the music paper in the background.

Here is a close up of the page and you can see the coffee stains, the polka dots, the fussy cut leaves, the splatters and stitching.

This was a fun card to make and I now have a couple masculine birthday cards made for later in the year.

Please stop by the Happy Little Stamper's Stencil Challenge and join in the fun.

Thanks for stopping by.

Wow, you made a fabulous first card to join the stencil team! Gorgeous card. Also, background polka-dot stencilling for the win, lol.
