Happy Monday

Yes - the same paper was used in this card as the card on Sunday - but you can be happy - the paper is now all gone - 3 sheets down - 3 milllion to go. Do you have a collection of patterned paper like I do - very bad - but it is good that we keep stimulating the economy and helping our favorite paper companies stay afloat.

I used a scrap of Bazzill scalloped cardstock on this card and the only other thing that was different is the brads - they were from the dollar bin at Target - I think they actually go with a winter grouping but they worked great for this.

Everyone have a wonderful evening.

Blessings of Snow

After spring has sprung - snow is not a blessing. But we got snow last night - and to make it worse - I live on the wrong side of the street - by noon - the driveways on the other side of the street were clear (no one shoveled) mine was covered - it still is covered. A neighbor did shovel some of it - but I am not going to worry about it - it is suppose to rain this week.
I did get a chance to create today - so that was fun - I enjoy days like that - of course I still have to get things ready for work for the week.
The card tonight is based on the card sketch at Card Positioning System - haven't participated for the last few weeks.
Stamps - Studio G
Colored with Copic Markers
Paper - Fancy Pants Designs
Bling - Hobby Lobby
Flower - Hobby Lobby and one layer cut with my Slice
I also finished the inside.
Come back tomorrow for another take on these same stamps and same paper - and 3 cards later - this paper is gone - YEAH!!!

Hump Day Wednesday

Made it through hump day - only two more days to go - yeah. It is cold and rainy here - where oh where did the nice weather of last week end go. I want it back - it isn't even in the forecast for the week - they actually have that "four letter word" in the forecast - SNOW. YUCK. Oh well spring will be here soon in reality.
The card tonight is a "same image swap". We were all sent the flower diecut - and then we each design our card - so far everything I have seen is very different and very fun. I colored my diecuts with copics. I also used the copics to color the trim I punched and added color to the thread I tied around the card. I had the embossed piece of paper and this is the card that piece of paper led me to.
Stamp - Printworks
Ink - Colorbox Chalk Ink by Clearsnap
Paper - My Mind's Eye
Punch - Fiskars
Cuddlebug Embossing folder - Core'dinations Paper (sanded)

Wet Rainy Day

So if April showers bring May flowrs - what do March downpours bring besides flooding, wet basements, etc. Not too much that is good in my area - we would gladly send the rain to some drought stricken area if we could. Could to be home and inside.
Once again tonight I am sharing a project that I have done in the past. This is a canvas. I will tell you what I remember about it - I did a wash of red paint and water on the canvas. I then added layers of pattern tissues from old sewing patterns (I just have a few around the house gatering dust) - don't remember the medium I used to attach it all. I then layered on the embellishments. Most of them were found in an old sewing box from my grandmother. The picture is from a CD I have. The spool of thread - is something I copied and cut out and wound the thread around it so it looked like a spool of thread. I think it is rather fun - too bad my sewing room is light green.
Everyone have a wonderful evening.

Digging

I was clearing off things and found this frame I had done - thought I would share it with you - B is for Barb. The papers and flowers are from Basic Grey - one of the lines they discontinued - I did so love all the colors in this line. The frame was wiped down with a dark brown acrylic paint - almost stain like. I then dry brushed blue on the frame. the paper was adhered with good ole Mod Podge. The B is a letter from another paper company that I covered with the BG paper. Thought you might like a creation other than a card.
Everyone have a wonderful evening.

Lovely week end

It was a lovely spring week end in Wisconsin - you could open the doors in the house and let the winter smells out. You could go outdoors and do things. It was lovely.
The children of my neighborhood work for popsicles - I was out raking today and was talking to one of the older children and said I had leftover popsicles that we needed to get eaten so we could buy new ones. She rounded up her sister and brother and they started working - we got 3 bags of leaves and crud picked up at one end of the lawn. We then went and sat down and enjoyed our popsicles and discussed my redo of my deck.
I had to buy a new TV this week end - I think my evil twin bought it - it is big - it will be interesting to see what it will be like to watch it. But I am excited to get it hooked up so I can watch it - tomorrow Dancing With the Stars will be fantastic.
The card I am posting I made a long time ago. I don't even remember who makes the paper. The stamp is from Crackerbox Palace - a local stamp company in Janesville - they have some great stamps.
Everyone have a great week. Hopefully it is a quiet one at work.

Almost made it through the week

I think I will make it to Friday. Yeah - I have some things set up so guess I will be taking off Monday - for some appointsment - have to work really hard tomorrow at work. Talked to some people about some work around the house tonight - at least it gives me an idea of the cost or approximate cost.
I am sharing a card I made a long time ago. It is made with Daisy D paper and lots of stitching on the sewing machine - somewhat of a crazy quilt design with some found items from the sewing basket - the little applique and the button - I love how the little duck is outlined. The sentiment was done on the computer.
Everyone have a wonderful evening.

Another Spring day

Today’s card is for the challenge on the Basic Grey challenge blog. The challenge was to use rounded corners – no square corners – so I did my best. The bunny is from a deck of cards. For a $1 – who could resist those cuties.

Patterned paper is from Basic Grey – crossed several collections with this card – Two Scoops, Romani and Oh Baby. The Hoppy Easter sticker is from Bo Bunny. The flowers are a collection of Primas and Hobby Lobby brand. One flower was cut from patterned paper using the Making Memories Slice. I do like my Slice. You can not see it but behind the flower and bunny is a design cut by the Slice also. Brads are also Basic Grey.

Everyone have a wonderful day – I am taking a class at the Scrapbook Store tonight using Nestabilities. Need to use them more so hoping for some inspiration to get me started.

Here Comes Spring .........

or at least a taste of Spring. We are having some days in Wisconsin in the 50 degree range - and you see people in their shorts and sandals. I was outside and picked up garbage out of the lawn and next to the curb. I still have snow on the street and edge of the lawn but it will be gone by June. I was home to see my Mom yesterday - and they had more snow left than I did - but they did have 3 inches last week end.

To celebrate spring I have made a spring/Easter card. The bunny is a deck of cards and how easy to use to make some Easter cards. I don't think I will make 52 though. I decided to dig out some of my supply of Basic Grey for the paper. The card is based on the sketch at Card Positioning System.

Paper - Basic Grey
Tag, word and base flower cut with Making Memories Slice
Other flowers - Hobby Lobby and Prima
Scallop - QuicKutz
Eyelet lace from stash
Brads - Basic Grey
Bunny pop dotted up

Enjoy the rest of your Sunday. Going to watch the Big 10 finals and then go for a walk and then finish up the last of the chores.

Easter Cards started

I made this card last night - it is based on the sketch at 2 Sketches 4 You.

Isn't that paper cute - it is from Fancy Pants Designs. It is called Tweet and it is so sweet - corny but who could resist. The flower was cut with my Slice. The blingy flowers were from a $1 spot somewhere. The little black bird is from Maya Road - it is falling off the circle - so I need to redo it - any ideas or suggestions on how to adhere them to paper. I used a clear liquid glue - I was very surprised it did not work. Ribbon was in the ribbon collection along with the pink rickrack. I pop dotted the circle with the bird on it.

Base flower cut with Making Memories Slice

Soggy Sunday

We had beautiful warm weather at the end of the week but Saturday and Sunday we have had downpours - heavy heavy rain - does not do much for the spirits. If this keeps up I am going to have to locate my umbrella for the trek from the parking lot to the building at work.
On Saturay I took another coloring with Copic class - colored some cute Amuse stamp images - I am thinking I may even be able to use some of my practice ones for cards. There was a really cute stamp of a bunny in a carrot car. Loved it.
My card today was done for a sketch over on Stamp TV. On Thursday they post a sketch. I have been practicing coloring these flowers - I am not quite sure about my choice of papers for the card - seems like I should have had a more sophisticated paper for the image.
Stamp - Penny Black
Colored with Copics
Paper - Making Memories
Sentiment stamp - Hero Arts
Bling - Hobby Lobby

Share a Smile

A smile - something so easy to give and it doesn't a thing - unless you take into account all the dental work you have had. I listened to a presentation one day about small talk and one of the things I came away with from the presentation is how much difference you can make in a person's day - even your own - is to say hello to people and smile at people. Since that, as I walk down the hall at work, I try to speak to people - just say Hi - smile - or actually stop and have a small conversation. You may be the only person who does that to someone one day and you can make such a difference. Maybe turn someone's day around.

My card today was done for several things - it was the sketch over on Stamp TV. Stamp TV is a new social network designed by Gina K. Gina does a video each week on a different stamp technique. You must check it out - and if you are from Wisconsin - there is a Wisconsin stamp group on Stamp TV - which is very fun. Actually Gina K is located in McFarland, WI. The other part of the challenge is to use Kraft in a card - and this is the challenge at Caardvarks. I love to use kraft paper in my cards.

This card is going to a friend's husband who was wounded in Afghanistan. He just underwent another surgery to have a titanium plate put in his head. I thought maybe a card would brighten his day.

Stamp - Hero Arts
Paper - Basic Grey
Ink - Chalk Ink by Colorbox
Twine - May Art
