Snow, Snow, Snow

First big snowfall for us 5 to 8 inches - oh no - here we go again - seems like we just got done with this stuff. Of course, my snowblower is at the snowblower hospital - it is ready to be discharged but need to get it picked up or delivered. Must make that a priority.
The cards I am sharing tonight is a gift for my niece Molly to give to her teacher. It is a a holiday card with a set of 4 cards. This set was published in an issue at Ready Set Create.
Had some fun making some cards today - someday the sun will shine - and I will be able to take pictures of them. I am in love with the Bazzill pin dot cardstock - that stuff is marvelous - loved the white for some holiday cards. I also have the die cut from Stampin' Up! - Top Note - I made a couple of cards - wrote my notes, put them in the envelopes - and did not scan. I really liked them also.
Here are the details on this set.

Shoe/Purse Diva

A quick mini card to send to a friend who is a purse/shoe diva. I found some cute kleenex packages which had shoes and purses on them. The package went in the mail to her today with this little card.

Day After Thanksgiving

Happy Day AFter Thanksgiving - hopefully everyone survived and did not overeat too much. It sure does taste good - especially when someone else does the cooking - my sister is an excellent cook. I do not have to eat leftovers either - come Christmas - it will be my turn and I will get to have lots of cooking to do and lots of leftovers.
I did not go to the stores today to shop - Oh my - I took my Mom to get groceries and we had some lunch and I then headed home - I drove through Madison and even though the stores called - I did not stop - even a 50% off coupon at JoAnn's could not lure me in.
Today I am sharing an altering project that I have done. I was surprised I did not post it back in October when I did it. The pink hat boxes is what I bought - but the bottom picture is what they turned into. I made them for my daugher for some extra storage in her new sewing/craft room. The patterned paper is Hobby Lobby's - My Mind's Eye. Adhered the paper with good ole Mod Podge. Goopy stuff but it sure works. I painted the boxes before I added the paper.
And there are still two days left of the week end. YEAH.

Happy Thanksgiving

Happy two days before Thanksgiving - I don't work tomorrow or Friday so I am feeling quite happy. It is nice to have a long week end especially when you spend part of the time on the road visiting family. Just sent two cards for Thanksgiving - one to each of my daughters - since I will not be spending Thanksgiving with them.
This card uses a copy of a vintage postcard. I brightened up the color of the image by using my Prismacolors. Just added some depth. The design for the card was based on the sketch challenge at Our Creative Corner. I also did the challenge on the Basic Grey Challenge blog which was to do embossing. The green strip is embossed with the Cuddlebug Swiss Dot folder - it is hard to see but the stripe was embossed with the Cuddlebug Argyle folder. My striped side was the negative side of the embossed argyle so it is hard to see.
Everyone have a wonder and safe Thanksgiving.
Paper - Basic Grey - paper from "the Basic Grey box" - Hang Ten, Stella Ruby and scraps of other collections

Snowy Monday

We had our first measurable snow this morning - it was a slippery drive to work and I saw two cars in the ditch. May I say - I hate winter - but now let's go onto more fun things to discuss. I actually did some card creating over the week end. These cards are for several different challenges - of course - I did not write them down so now I have to go out and search them out.

The first card is square - about 4 inches - it is based on a weekly sketch at Paper Craft Planet - a new paper crafters online community.

The second card is based on the sketch at Card Positioning System. The challenge at Penny Black challenge blog was for a Funky Christmas - I think the colors of this holiday grouping - constitutes Funky.

Paper: K&Co. Peppermint Twist

Stamp: Penny Black - embossed with Ranger Seafoam White

Punch: Marvy

Little trees: QuicKutz die cut - only a $1 - and it works great in my Cuddlebug

Get Well Rocky

Happy Saturday - I am heading off to a Rubber Stamp Show in Madison - like I need anything more - but off I go. I do get to have lunch with a person I have only talked to online and on the phone - so that is exciting. Everyone enjoy your day.
My card for today is for my Grand Dog Rocky - she is having knee surgery on Monday - ouch!! So since I had just bought this stamp on Thursday - may I say - I found the Motherload of Whipper Snapper Stamps - Creative Pals in Brookfield, WI - you must go there sometime if you are a Whipper Snapper rubber stamp fan. Whipper Snapper Stamps is a Wisconsin company - yeah Wisconsin.
Paper - We R Memory Keepers
Brad - Stemma
Stamp - Whipper Snapper Stamps
Rub On letters - October Afternoon
My poor attempt at coloring with copics (note to self - must take class)

Brrrr - Polar Bear Friday

Happy Friday - and I did not work - makes it even better - did some errand running, cleaning and created a card. I finally got to make a card for the sketch on 2 Sketches 4 You. The polar bear image is a gift tag that I bought sometime. It worked great with the paper from Bo Bunny - I used some of my scalloped edge Bazzill cardstock. The card measures about 5.5 square. The snowflakes are Sizzlets cut out of watercolor paper with Stickles added on top.
I am not ready for winter or the holidays - but I guess I am at least one card closer to sending them out.
The week end is coming - and there is a Rubber stamp show in Madison - I am going to go and meet up with a friend.

Time to Start Thanksgiving Cards

Thanksgiving is going to be here before we know it so I do need to get some cards made. I don't get to spend Thanksgiving with my daughters so I want to send them each a card. They are the blessings in my life.
This card is based on the sketch at Cardpositioning Systems. It is a sketch for a long card but I have these envelopes (recycled) that are 3.5 x 6.25 in brownish tones - thus my card is 3.375 x 6 inches. It is still a rectangle shape. Also on Our Creative Corner - the challenge is to use a silhouette stamp.
Stamp - Stampendous
Ink - ColorBox Chalk Ink - Chestnut Roan

Saturday - Time to Party

Tis Saturday and I have a wedding to attend. Thus - a wedding card for today's post.
Last night I actually sewed something - my neighbor is having a baby shower today and just finished some remodeling - I knew she really wanted her curtains done and she had gotten a very simple valance pattern so after sharing some pizza with them - I came home at 7 and by 9 I delivered two valances back to their house - and had a beer to celebrate. She really liked them. I was quite the accomplished seamstress at one point in my life and worked in a fabric store for over 10 years but life got in the way and I no longer sew - except for on my cards. I bought myself this expensive sewing machine as a gift to myself when I graduated from college (not that many years ago). I always tell my children if I would become a Grandma - I would be happy to start sewing again. Slowly I have been getting rid of my fabric and patterns.
Here are the details for today's card.
Bride and groom - iron on from Plaid
Bling Heart - Kaiser Scrapbook
Paper - My Mind's Eye
Rub On - Imaginisce (from a set of birthday rub ons - but I think it is great for a wedding card)
Scallop border - QuicKutz Scallop Border
Now I need to go finish the inside of the card with a nice saying. Sometimes I think this is the hardest part of making a card. Everyone have a great day.

Happy Birthday Annie

Brrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr - winter is coming to Wisconsin - I sure do not like this feeling of doom - if we have another winter like last year - I will be looking for a job in the South - or somewhere in the middle where the weather is more tepid. Back to work today after being gone 3 days last week - oh my - just getting through the e mail is a battle. Slow but sure - I will be in all this week so that will be good.

My card for today is a birthday card for my friend Annie - Annie is a stamper and what I struggled what type of card to make her - this is what I came up with. She has gotten it and said she loves it. Whew.

Happy Sunday

The last two weeks I have been gone part of each week for conferences - they were good conferences but I do like being at home. I stayed on Friday with my daughter in Stevens Point and woke up to my car covered with snow and all the trees were blanketed in snow. It is cold although they do say we are suppose to get into the 50's today - I still need to rake more leaves - a neighbor asked me when I would be done - because all my leaves were blowing in her lawn. Made me chuckle.
This card is going to be sent to an Aunt - she turned 91 in October. The card is based on the cupcake sketch at Taylored Expressions. It also qualifies for the challenge on Our Creative Corner. They show a picture of a cupcake - the colors of the photo could have inspired you or the subject matter - I chose the subject matter.
Paper - Imaginisce (love the bright primary colors)
Stamp - Inkadinkado - Birthday Cupcake acrylic set
Colored with Sakura Glaze pens with clear Stickles over the top
Brads - Hobby Lobby house brand

Wacky Wisconsin Weather

We are breaking records in Wisconsin with our weather - summer has returned and it is in the 70's and the overnight temps are even breaking records for being so high. It makes it extremely hard - when all the summer clothes have been put away - the winter coat is out and the boots are ready. What is a girl to do. But by Friday - we have snow showers in the forecast.
So why not a Winter Wishes card for this hot spell in Wisconsin - this card is based on the sketch at Card Positioning - a new sketch every Sunday. I also incorporated the Cuddlebug challenge into the card - which was to use metallic - yes the pink is metallic with Stickles over the top because I needed bling. What is a girl to do.

This was a kit exchange - I made the kit and sent it to a friend and we each made a card from the same materials - it is always fun to see how differently we each create. I had so many supplies that the top picture is my inside and the bottom picture is the outside.
Paper - My Mind's Eye
Stamp - Inkadinkado -
snowmansentiment is Hero Arts
Bazzill card stock
Heidi Swapp snowflake - it had a groove on the backside so I filled it with Pink Stickles - pink stickles on the brad and the buttons
Bling snowflake - Darice
I think I will add one more button to a tree on the left side
