Oldie Moldie Monday

It is Monday - time to show some love for your old supplies.

More thank you cards using my Silhouette Cameo and some well aged card stock.

I made 5 total of this card.  Three of the cards were made from a blue/lavender card stock.

Remember to show some love for your old supplies.

Oldie Moldie Monday

Monday - time to show some love for your old supplies.

More thank you cards.

This is a very old set of papers and an old stamp I had.  I thought a boy would like to send this card.  I made two of this card.

Remember to show some love for your old supplies.

Oldie Moldie Monday

It is Monday - time to show some love to your older supplies.

A place I make cards for asked for cards that the children could use to send as thank yous for their Christmas presents they received from their sponsors for the holiday.  I have been trying to make cards that a girl or a boy would send.

This is some very old Basic Grey paper and I was able to make two cards.  You know children love frogs.

Remember to show some love for those old supplies and if possible, do some charity work with you card making talents and supplies.

Happy Little Stampers January Anything Goes With Dies Challenge

It is time for a new challenge at Happy Little Stampers using your dies - anything goes - so come join us and show us your beautiful creations with dies.

I wanted to make some New Year cards so used the challenge to make a card to send to someone.

I have a wonderful pad of paper that had different color families but in each color many different patterns.  I used the tealish collection to make my card.  The stamp is from Paper Smooches.  The tag is also a Paper Smooches die which I used to make a vellum tag.  The feathers are a die and also both pieces of the background paper were cut with my stitched rectangle dies.  I love these dies.  It puts such a beautiful finish on your cards.

I used my clear Wink of Stella Brush on the feathers and the sentiment.

Come join us and make a card using your dies.

Happy Little Stampers January Mixed Media Challenge

It is 2017 and another year of wonderful challenges from Happy Little Stampers with mixed media.  Who doesn't like to get their fingers all messy while they are creating - ok there are a few people.  I have a friend when I go to show her something new for some reason she always pulls out rubber gloves for us.

This month the mixed media challenge is so fun - layers.  A challenge that sets my heart pitter patter.  I love using layers of paper and embellishments and mixed media stuff.  I was so happy making my card.

It is a square card that is almost six inches square.  This gives you a larger area for all those wonderful layers.  Of course in the United States, I will be paying extra to mail a thick square card.  (We won't talk about how much postage I spent mailing my Christmas cards.)

The paper is a 6 x 6 pad from Prima Rossi Bella.  I love the color combination of pinks, different shades of black and grays.  All paper layers were distressed.

The first three layers were three squares of patterned paper with each layer getting about half inch smaller.  Once they were adhered together I added texture with some snowflake embossing paste.  If you look at the card closely you can see the sparkly embossing paste peaking out in different places.  I cut a rectangle of striped paper to go across the bottom of the card.  On this layer I added a flourish with the same embossing paste.

I then went through my stash to find items I could use to embellish the cards.  I had this blackish fabric which I tore strips of and tied into little bows.  They were tucked into the floral accent areas.  A bunch of thread was pulled off a spool for another fun element. The pink flowers are die cut buckram which was died with a Tattered Angels Baseboard pink paint.  A cream flower was sprayed with a black ink.

The sentiment was stamped with black Versafine Ink and some Versamark.  Clear embossing powder was added to the stamped sentiment.  It was die cut with a circle die and a slightly larger die was used to cut a blackish mat.  It was pop dotted on top of a doily which had been adhered to the front of hte card.  A scrap of black lace was added to the card tucked under the rectangle.  The flowers were arranged around the sentiment.

Here are some close ups of different areas of the card.  Upper right corner.  You can see the thread, the black lace and doily in this picture.  If you look closely you can also pick up some glimpses of the embossing paste.

Lower right corner.  You can see some of the sparkly embossing paste peaking out in a couple different spots and also the torn fabric bows tucked in on each side.

Upper left corner.  See the torn fabric bow tucked under the flower.

I had so much fun making this beautiful card.  I don't know if I will be able to mail it to anyone.  I also love the paper pad so will be making more cards from it for sure.

Please join us for the month of January at Happy Little Stampers and get your layered mixed media fix on.

Oldie Moldie Monday - First One of 2017

I was a very bad blogger in December and I do hope to change my ways.  I will be traveling for two weeks in January so that will limit some of what I post.

In a private Facebook group of stampers, they started out the year with challenges every two hours.  I was able to do one challenge and it is my oldie moldie Monday card.  The paper is very old.  The stamp is a new one.

Remember to show some love for your old supplies.  They still make wonderful projects.

Mixed Media Mojo January Challenge

Wow - it is 2017 and January 1.  Time for a new challenge at Mixed Media Mojo Challenge Blog.

The challenge is NEW.  And the Twist is Clocks.  Unfortunately I did not know where my clock stamps were.  I just went with the New - a Happy NEW Year card and I did use some new product on the card.

The stamp is an old Hero Art stamp that I don't believe I have ever used before.  The background was made with some old sprays that I had.  I have been trying to use them up.  I created a couple different backgrounds.  The blue one was used for the base of the card and the tealish colored one was used for the circles and the sentiment area.

The new product I used was some silver glitter embossing paste.  It is translucent enough that it picks up the blue color behind it.  The glitter circles are very pretty.

I punched out some circles of the teal paper and die cut some stars out of dark navy (the background was mounted with the same color navy).  I believe I used my clear Wink of Stella pen on the stars.

The sentiment was embossed with a white embossing powder.  The sentiment strip was matted with the dark navy card stock also.

After I had added the circles to the card base, I splattered white paint over it.

The sentiment was pop dotted on the front of the card and a silver thread bow was added.

Here are a couple close ups of several of some different areas.

Please come join us at Mixed Media Mojo for our January challenge.
