I have been very neglectful of my blog this summer. I do continue to create. Some of what I create is for design teams so can not be shown until they are posted. I will try to rectify this. I need to go back through my files and see what I have not posted.
This is a quick card I made last week as a thank you for a friend who graciously let my friend Ivanka and I stay with her while we all attended Bella Crafts. We had so much fun being together taking classes and being creative.
The paper made this card so easy. I did lots of layering (you know I love to do that) and at the end used a gold mist over the entire card.
Thanks for stopping by.

Oldie Moldie Monday
I know I have been lax in posting on Monday's. I have been gone some so did not get anything done. I do have some Christmas cards to share today. I have made them to send to a friend - she is sending boxes overseas to her daughter's unit.
This paper is from Bo Bunny. All the images are from an older collection. The sentiment was computer generated. I made a total of 12 cards out of this group.
It felt good to make cards for our Heroes who are serving their country overseas. It is a very small thing I can do to help them keep in touch with family and friends at home.

Journaling with Leftover Paint
Friday I was featured on the Canvas Corp blog in a post talking about journals.
When I work on projects, I always keep a small journal near my work area so I can mop up the leftover paint. You don't want to waste all that goodness. With some lovely Tattered Angels Paint already on the page, it was easy to make a journal entry about creating. The lovely brushes are from a Canvas Corp paper line.
I you wish to see how I created the page, pop over to the Canvas Corp blog.

Yesterday I was featured on the Canvas Corp blog with my Halloween ATC's. If you wish to see how I made them, there is a step by step in this post. The paper/fabric I used to stamp on is so yummy.

Oldie Moldie Monday
Yes, I seem to be neglecting my blog and not creating, but honestly, I have been working on projects for design teams. I have made several different project and you will be able to see them sometime soon.
I also have kitted some card kits to take with me. A friend is sending boxes overseas to her daughter's unit and I want to send her at least 30 cards. I will be at my daughters for a few days so I should have time to assemble the cards.
The die cuts for this card were sitting on a table and today they spoke to me. Of course, I had to acknowledge them and by the end of Sunday they became a card.
It is kinda a shabby chic card. I used a tea dyed doily, some old lace, did some sewing with my sewing machine and once the card was assembled, I spritzed some gold mist over the top. You can kinda see it in the picture.
I am going to Bella Crafts Connection next week end in the Twin Cities so no posts for me. I will be learning new things and spending time with a couple of my best crafting buddies.
Have a wonderful week.

Happy Little Stampers September Mixed Media Challenge
Once again it is the beginning of the month and time for a new challenge at Happy Little Stampers Mixed Media.
The challenge this month is Distress. That word has many meanings in the world of paper crafting. Distressed paper or any other material, distress stains, distress ink or distress paint or I am just distressed trying to make a card.
I decided to make a card that I colored the image with distress inks. I also distressed the edges of all my paper.
This is a birthday card for my daughter who is turning 40 years old. How did my baby get this old and yes I really wish I could be with her to celebrate her birthday. She is a dog lover so she will love this image.
I hope you are able to join us for our challenge at Happy Little Stampers Mixed Media challenge.

Happy Little Stampers September Anything Goes With Dies Challenge
It is the beginning of the month and time for a new challenge at Happy Little Stampers
I have just joined the design team for the Anything Goes with Dies challenge group. This will make me try to creatively use the many dies I have accumulated over the years in my card making adventures.
Fall is fast approaching and I love to make cards with leaves. I also was in a swap where we had to use ribbon on our card and so my challenge card helped me complete the task. It has been mailed to the recipient. I did not want to mail it because I like it so well.
The tag is a die from Paper Smooches. The Hello is a die from Hero Arts.
The front panel was matted with a dark brown. The leaves, tag and sentiment are adhered with foam tape. After the card was finished, I sprayed a gold spray over the top of the card to give the entire card a fall shimmer.
Thanks for stopping by and I do hope that you will come play with us at Happy Little Stampers Anything Goes Die Challenge.

The three colored section in the middle of the card is a wide ribbon. It had wire in it but I removed the wire. I put iron on adhesive on the back of the ribbon and then added it to the front gold piece of the card. I then placed this layer in an embossing folder. You can see the embossed area of on the ribbon very faintly.
The leaves are a die cut. I glued two pieces of book pages together. I colored the leaves with Tattered Angels Calendar Mist Kit - Pumpkin Patch. I just adding layers of spray until I found the color of leaf I wanted. There is such a beautiful variation in each paper leaf.
Thanks for stopping by and I do hope that you will come play with us at Happy Little Stampers Anything Goes Die Challenge.

Mixed Media Mojo September Challenge
Once again it is the beginning of the month and it is time for a new challenge at the MixedMedia Mojo challenge blog.
The challenge for September is Back to School with the added twist of primary colors.
Well, my project went down a different road. It is back to school inspired by my niece who is a teacher. This project is dedicated to all the teachers who are heading back to school and what they may need by the end of the day.
The project started with a paper bag for wine from a store. The bottle and glass are from the bottle. I also used the red paper from the bag for the canvas.
Many layers of paint were added to this canvas. I did not really like the project until I added the gold embossing paste and it brought the entire project together.
I did this a couple of months ago so I don't remember all the details on how I made the canvas and I do apologize for that.
Here are some close ups of several of the areas of the canvas.
Here you can see that I outlined the glass and bottle with a dark stablio pencil and smeared it a little. You can see layers of gold embossing paste, black paint, white paint and black stamping.
I stamped the sentiment on a piece of the bag. A border stamp was used around the sentiment.
The sentiment was created on the computer and printed out. The red strip was from the bag also.
I hope you enjoyed my quirky take on "Back to School". I raise a glass to all the wonderful dedicated teachers who help mold and teach our younger generation.
