Fast and Fun Folded Cards

That is the name of a new booklet put out by CardMakers magazine. You can find it at
Annie's Attic - I am lucky enough to have a card in this book. It is always fun to see your cards being published. Of course if you want to find out how to make the card you will need to pick up the booklet. I guess I could send it to my sister now for her birthday - of course - her birthday was in October - or maybe I should save it for this year - then I would have a card ready.
Everyone have a very enjoyable evening. Very cold here - need to snuggle down for the evening.

Friends

I get by with a little help from my friends - where would we be without the friends in our life. I saw this quote - and loved the feeling behind it - isn't it great making new friends, sharing time with our friends - new and old.

I have a group of friends I call my "Ya Ya's" - the group bowled together and then after my divorce - I started being their substitute bowler - well we got older - and our bodies got older than our minds - so we stopped bowling but we try to get together at least once a month to spend some quality time catching up on each other's lives, sharing the joys and sorrows.

Through my cardmaking - I have made many online friends also - how strange that you can become friends who you have never met - you just share the joy of a hobby or common interest. I have been very lucky that I have been able to meet some of these online friends in person and spend some wonderful times together.

I hope you have some special friends in your life.

Caardvarks has a challenge to use Kraft paper in your cards - I do love to use Kraft paper - hope you enjoy my version - pop over to their site to see how everyone else used the Kraft paper.

4 day week ends

I had a four day week end and enjoyed doing nothing - I did not even leave the house on Saturday or Sunday - bliss - today was a day filled with those pesky doctor appointments you have to do every year. I decided to fill the day with them - that way I do not have to leave work early to go the appointments - takes about an hour from work to where I go to the doctor - feels good to have it done. I did have to schedule a test for next week. Just thought about that - that might not be such a good day - gotta think about that.

Going back in my pictures and found a set I had never posted before. This is a small gift box - made out of jello box - just decorated with the patterned paper and a cupcake I drew up. I am guessing on a few things here. I know the paper is Imaginisce. I believe the stamp is a Hero Art stamp. It is colored with Twinkling H2O's. Hmmmmmm - I remembered someone who is having a birthday coming up - this might work just wonderfully - YEAH - now to find some little things to put in the small gift box.

Everyone have a good evening - I need to find some clothes to wear to work tomorrow. Oh well - gotta pay the bills.

Sunday - a Time to Relax

Once again you can see I am struggling with those titles for my blog - oh well - at least I am posting today. I must have the winter blahs - just don't care to do much of anything. The sun is shining in Wisconsin - even though we got snow yesterday. Had to go blow the sidewalk and clear out the end of the driveway. Not going to worry about the top of the driveway - we are suppose to have warm temps and rain later in the week.

I have managed to get some creating done. This card is for the "same image swap" over at Cuppas and Cards - lots of coloring on this card. Combined Copics and Prismacolors. I so need to learn to color - hopefully the next two Saturdays I will be able to take the coloring classes I have signed up for - of course - then I will need to sit and do some coloring.

Image - no idea
Patterned paper - Graphic 45 (doublesided)
Friends stamp - Hero Arts
Flowers - from the flower drawers
Button - American Crafts

Inked with Colorbox Chalk Ink.
Machine Stitching.

The inside is finished also.

Saturday

Another snowy Saturday in Wisconsin - but I have no where to go so it doesn't matter to me - makes the snow easier to handle. My snow blowing fairy came through once and hopefully he will do it again - after it quits snowing and blowing.
I have been playing with paper today - and been having some fun - and that is the important thing - is if you are playing - you need to be having fun. Creativity makes me happy. I bought some fabric yesterday for my Mom to work on - going to make a little quilt top that she can quilt - it keeps her busy and she loves to see her projects evolve. The fabric I found was a dinosaur panel which would be a wall panel but add some strips you could have a little quilt. I have a little great nephew that it would be great for. Avery always brings a smile to my face. He is such a sweetie.
My card today is very green but I like how it turned out. I hope you enjoy it also.

Whew - made a card

Made a quick card - my student needed a card for her Dad and I said I would make one for her - he loves trains - I guess this turned out pretty masculine.
Cuddlebug hearts
Black Dot - Bo Bunny
Green paper - Kaiser Scrapbooking
Trim - American Crafts (I think)
now I must go and finish the inside so that is off my plate.
See I can still create - kinda.

Bad Blogger

Barb has been a bad blogger - really have not done any creating - unless you call laundry, baking a couple batches of banana bread, a little shopping, creative - guess not - stay tuned - there will be more coming.

I do need to make some birthday cards and Easter is coming - I guess I should check - when is Easter this year.

Another week of work - and I must go make my bed since I did sheets today - get everything ready for work - so I can jump out of bed and get ready and be to work early tomorrow. Lots to do. Hopefully I will be back to share - if not - maybe I could find a good recipe to share.

It's Another Boy

I told you there was an influx of boy babies and this is another boy card. I have had this one made for awhile. It is very cold in Wisconsin again but it is suppose to be warm again this week end - I can make it - give me some 30 and 40 degree days and I can make it to spring.
This card is made with the same papers and rub ons as yesterday. I am already for these babies to be born - gifts are bought.
Everyone have a wonderful evening - I am going to go stare at some paper again and probably not make anything.

It's a Boy

It seems all the babies that are being born (in my little circle of the world) are baby boys s0 this is one card that I just got finished. The card originally started out as the sketch from CPS - last week - well it went totally off on it's own path - there is a small semblance to their original sketch.

Paper, stitch rub ons, stickers are from K&Co.; sentiment rub on - One Heart One Mind; used the Sizzix die cut for the large star and a small punch for the little star; Brad from Imaginisce and the Cuddlebug embossing argyle folder. The inside has a cute quote about boys and has the same colors and stars.

Everyone enjoy their evening.

Super Bowl Sunday

Super Bowl Sunday - a time to gather with friends and watch very expensive commercials - oh yes - there is also a football game. I am rooting for the Cardinals - the underdogs - always want the underdog to win. I am going to the neighbors to watch the game - I made some pulled pork for sandwiches and some of my "infamous" brownies. It will be fun to watch the game with everyone that is gathering there.

The card for today is another valentine card - using that little bee stamp - bees are very important in my family - we have four generations of women with Bea or Beatrice as their middle name - Molly Beatrice, Bonnie Bea, Carrie Bea and Elaina Bea.

This card is for the challenge at Our Creative Corner - to use at least two hearts on your card. The card is based on their challenge from the week before - a sketch. I never got to the sketch but was able to finish it this morning.

BoBunny paper, Stampabilities Stamp, colored with Copics, clear Stickles on top, Cuddlebug hearts, Nestabilities

Everyone have a wonderful Sunday.
