It is Monday - time to show some love for your old supplies. This is a combination of old and new supplies. The stamp is a new Whipper Snapper Stamp which I could not leave behind at the store - it had a bee on it and the bee was sewing. It is so precious and reminds me of my mom and all the other Bea's in my family.
The paper is from an old 6 x 6 pad.
This card is being sent to a friend who I worked with for almost 20 years. We also carpooled together so many memories between the two of us. She is a very special lady and she has moved to another state so I do not get to see her too often.
Remember your old supplies can make beautiful cards or other projects.
Thanks for stopping by.

Canvas Corp Traveling Journal
Here is my June pages for the traveling journal I received. I was inspired by a project on U Tube that had the black dots and bright colors.
The journal had a small insert inside the page so that was fun to work with. Here you can see the front side of the page.
Here is the backside of the insert. Very simple.
I started by cutting the black dot paper from Canvas Corp to fit the page. I masked off a border around the edge and added gesso.
I then added color to the center of the pages using different colors of High Impact Paint from Tattered Angels.
I then stenciled over the top of the bright colors with white gesso.
I removed the masking tape. Look what happened It tore the top of the dotted paper away in several places. I felt so sick to my stomach that I had ruined my page.
But as Carolyn Dube says - it is an opportunity to be creative. So I added one of the paints to the oops areas. I also drew circles in this area with a black marker.
I cut flowers with my Silhouette out of black card stock and adhered to the pages. I used one bloom on the backside of the small page.
In the end I was very happy with my page even though I had that "oops" in the middle of it.

Oldie Moldie Monday
Oops missed posting last week. I was off staying with my niece's children while they went on a vacation. I always have so much fun with them.
I made a Christmas card from some older paper. Not that old but still in my large stash of 6 x 6 pads. The stamp is new from Whipper Snapper Stamps.
I made about 6 of these. The sentiment stamp is from Paper Smooches.
Remember to show some love to your old supplies.

Wedding Card
A high school classmate special ordered a wedding card for me. I took the order and I made a beautiful card. She has received it and she loved it.
I am entering the card in the Monday Challenge at Simon Says Stamp. The challenge is to distress it. Well I distressed the edges of all the paper with scissors (I couldn't find my distresser - it is playing hide and seek.)
Here are some close ups of different parts of the card.
Thanks for stopping by.

Happy Little Stampers July ATC Challenge
Time again for the new challenge at Happy Little Stampers - ATC.
The challenge this month is Animals.
The background for the ATC is Distress Oxide Inks. The little monkey and heart are stickers that I have had for so many years. I am so glad to be able to use at least one of the monkeys. The Hello was stamped on the ATC front.

Happy Little Stampers July Anything Goes With Dies Challenge
It is July, time for a new dies challenge at Happy Little Stampers and as always it is Anything Goes.
Here is a close up of the sentiment.
Here is a close up of the sweater and background.
Get out your dies and join us at Happy Little Stampers Die Challenge - Anything Goes.
This will be either a Christmas card or a winter card. I am not sure yet. The sweater was die cut with a new die. I love the non traditional accent of orange. It is always nice to mix up your holiday cards. The snowflake is one I had in my supplies. The sentiment was cut with my Silhouette Cameo.
The background and the sentiment were created with distress oxide inks. I love to play with those inks. One hint is make sure you color your paper for your sentiment at the same time. You can never recreate the same coloring with distress oxides.
Here is a close up of the sentiment.

New Distress Ink Colors in the House
I had so much fun with the first colors that I had to order the next 12 colors. I did find them on sale and with half price shipping. Of course I started playing with them immediately. I have made a bunch of backgrounds and I have six of them stamped for Christmas cards. I will finish one and kit the rest to be assembled when I am away from home.
I decided to use one of my new panels to do the sketch at Freshly Made Sketches. Here is the sketch.
Here is my card. I used three different colors to make the more solid background and then the I did splatters on the background. After doing this I struggle, is it a CAS card. In my design world, it is because I know all the layers I like. I love the bright colors I achieved.
I am also entering it into the challenge at Addicted to Stamps and more where the challenge is CAS.
Everyone have a wonderful day. I may have to put the inks aside so I can make the two male birthday cards I need to make for tomorrow (plus make a salad) and I took a special order for a wedding card. I would like to mail that this Monday.

Happy Little Stampers Mixed Media July Challenge
How did it get to be the beginning of July? Well it is time for the new monthly challenges to be posted at Happy Little Stampers.
The mixed media challenge is Texture.
I needed a birthday card for a male friend so decided to do my challenge card for July for mixed media. This is an image that has never been inked before so that was good to use it.
The image and sentiment was stamped on gessoed on book pages. I colored the image with distress paint. Texture was added with embossing paste in several different parts of the card. There is a chicken sire die behind the image. The paper is very old.
The card was liked by the recipient.

Oldie Moldie Monday
I have a grouping of this paper from Kaiser Kraft. The colors are beautiful and I took one scrappiece and made 2 cards out of it. I still have one more piece cut from this scrap that I will work into a card.

Canvas Corp Mini Sewing Themed Album
A group of designers from the Canvas Corp Design Team made mini albums. The approximate dimensions were 5.5 inches by 2.75 inches - about the size of an I Phone.
If you wish to see the other albums that were made - click on this link.
Canvas Corp has a wonderful line of sewing themed papers in their 7 Gypsies Line. It is called Gypsy Seamstress and you can find it at this link.
I sewed in a former life so I also have many sewing themed stamps from many different companies. Some of the stamps may even be considered vintage.
This is the cover. I adhered two pieces of canvas together with iron on adhesive and stitched around the outside edge. All the edges are frayed. The focal point of the cover is the scissors from the new Architextures line. Everything in this new line can be found at this link. I fussy out different elements from the sewing paper. There is also a big pile of thread which was pulled off the canvas pieces. A wooden button is the closure for the little journal.
The journal has two signatures in it. Each signature has 4 normal size pages and two small pages. They are sewn into the journal.
This is the first page when you open the journal. It is a combination of fussy cut paper and some burlap strings torn from the burlap squares.
Here is a view of the next two pages. I used one of my fun sewing stamps on one side. The other side is some paper and a sentiment from another set of stamps along with some stamped buttons. Thread from the canvas fabric enhance the page.
This is the next set of pages. On hte left page I added a small envelope and decorated it with paper and stamping. I took an old fashioned safety pin and hung a bunch of punched tags on it. The other page has some stamping and paper on it for decoration
On the next page I stamped a vintage sewing machine, and adhered it to the fold in the page.
More pages with fussy and torn cut paper to decorate it.
This is another spread with more fussy cut paper embellishments and a little stamping.
On this page I stamped a dress form. Oops it did not stamp very nicely at the top so a piece of paper was added to cover up that mishap. The other page was decorated with Tattered Angels paint and a fussy cut banner from a paper pad.
This is another page with a small bag and more tags which are hung in the book. The other page has more fussy cut elements and stamping.
Here is a nice view of one of the half pages in the book. Paper and stamps decorated the pages.
Here is the middle of the half pages.More fussy cut paper to decorate the pages.
The backside of the half page and another full page with fussy cut images, stamping and some thread from the canvas fabric.
Here is used a scissor stamp, doily and more fussy cut paper.
And we come to the end of the journal. The lage page just has stamping on it. This does give you a view of the fabric cover. You can see where I took a piece of canvas and covered up the jute threads which are the closure. The jute threads loop around the wood heart on the front to close it.
This was such a fun project to make. I hope you enjoy this look at the sewing journal.
Thanks for stopping by.
