Yesterday I colored two images of a cupcake. I made one birthday card yesterday and today I used the other image to make another belated birthday card. I decided to use the sketch from Sweet Sunday Sketch Challenge.
I chose to use a square/rectangle instead of a circle in the sketch.
The paper is from My Mind's Eye. The stamp is from Whipper Snapper Designs and the sentiment is unknown - it is a floater - floating around the design table/stamp box. The image was colored with Copics. The cherry has glossy accents on top of it and all the frosting layers have Wink of Stella on it.
Enjoy what remains of your Sunday.

Happy Birthday Kristin
One of my sweet neighborhood grandchildren turns 14 today - actually two of them turn 14 today. This is the card for Kristin. When she was little she called me Bark instead of Barb. She loved to play with my hair.
She also likes to make cards. She came over a couple times this summer and made some cards.
I decided to make a card for her. Luckily I am somewhat stuck in a design rut so I went looking for a sketch to use. Sketch Saturday had a great sketch to use; it is square and the card is hand delivered so I don't have to worry about extra postage.
On my card the paper is from My Mind's Eye. The cupcake stamp is from Whipper Snapper Designs colored with Copics. The cherry has glossy accents on it and all the frosting has Wink of Stella. The sentiment is homeless so I don't know who makes it.

I am also entering it on the Wednesday Challenge on Simon Says Stamp which is to use a stamp. I have used two stamps on this project. They also have a blog hop with the challenge. There were some wonderful cards on the blog hop. They are celebrating Stamptember on Simon Says Stamp.
Enjoy your Saturday.

Greeting from Wisconsin - Contents Still Frozen
Last week I shared this card.
I assembled four more of the same card this week end. I had one colored image left and not enough of my patterned paper to make this card so I improvised. I flipped the card base and let the image hang off the bottom of the card. Luckily the paper was double sided so I could use two small pieces side by side to do the front of the card. Dug out some ribbon. This time I stamped my sentiment with black ink and then put clear embossing powder over the top - it makes the sentiment pop.
Both stamps are from Wisconsin stamp companies. The sentiment is from Crackerbox Palace in Janesville and the rodent is from Whipper Snapper Designs in Brookfield.
I am entering this card in the weekly Wednesday challenge on Simon Says Stamp. The challenge is Anything Goes.
Well I am glad this week is half over with. I have started some mixed media projects and still need to make some more valentine cards. So do you also spend more time on Pinterest than you do creating. I have been looking at tags and ATC's. Lots of creations to drool over.
Enjoy your evening.

The Dog Ate My Birthday Card
This was the birthday card I made for my daughter. She never got to see it; she brought it from the mailbox and laid it on the table and Axl (the dog) ate it. Axl loves paper. He even ate the dog shaming book.
The stamp is by Whipper Snapper Designs. It was colored with distress paints and Gelatos.
It was a very nice card. He also ate her Christmas Santa canvas. Good thing I love that darn dog.

Getting Caught Up on Cards
Well I did not get all my Christmas cards sent out this year so I am sending some winter cards and then some valentine cards. Here is the winter card I am sending to friends in warmer clients. Three have been mailed and I have 5 more images colored.
I colored the Whipper Snapper stamp with distress inks. The sentiment is from Crackerbox Palace in Janesville, WI. Normally I stamp it on envelopes but I thought it would make a cute sentiment with my handsome friend. The image hangs over the top of the card. I have made several of this design this year and really like it. It still fits in an A2 envelope.
I am going to enter the card in the Monday Simon Says Stamp challenge which is winter stamping. Stamping in the winter, stamping a winter image - this qualifies for both.
Spent Monday off work so I worked in my crafting area. I have found the floor and vacuumed it. The tables now need to be cleaned. Slowly but surely. I should have done some cleaning upstairs also. Oh well, there will be another day.
Enjoy your Tuesday. I know this 4 day week will seem like 6 days.

Oldie Moldie Monday
Oldie Moldie Monday - time to show some love to your old supplies. Those supplies still make great cards. I have not made a card for Operation Write Home for awhile. The number of troops overseas has decreased so has the need for cards. These cards are for the monthly ODBD Challenge which is hearts. ODBD stands for Our Daily Bread Designs - they generously will pay for up to two boxes of cards to be shipped overseas. We just need to post 25 cards for each box. I see that my card will be working toward the 2nd box.
The cute little stamp is from Whipper Snapper Designs. The paper is from My Mind's Eye. The paper has some very pretty colors in it.
Thanks for stopping by and remember to show some love to your old supplies.

Oldie Moldie Monday
It is time to make a birthday card for my Mom. I used some pretty colors for her card.
Everyone wants cake for their birthday. I made her a cupcake card. This is a stamp from Whipper Snapper Stamps. I got it on clearance but you know you can never have enough cupcake stamps. The image was colored with Copics. I made polka dots in the cupcake liner by using the color remover. I then added clear Stickles. The cherry has glossy accents on it.
The sentiment is from SRM Stickers.
Enjoy your Monday.

Halloween Mixed Media Frog
It is the part of the month where Mou posts a challenge on the Faber Castell blog. The challenge is to create any project for Halloween or Day of the Dead. I try to make a few Halloween cards each year.
This was a fun card to make. I got out my texture paste, gelatos, Big Pens and started to play. The background is a piece of Basic Grey paper which I applied texture paste to through a stencil. I colored the texture paste with gelatos. I wish I would have gotten a brighter orange. The frog (a stamp from Whipper Snapper Stamps) was stamped and colored with gelatos, Big Pen and some distress ink. I wanted a stormy looking sky so I put a layer of distress paint and then used purple, grey and dark blue gelatos to make it look stormy. The weird looking circle is a moon - a very funky colored moon. The brown earth is the Big Brush pen smeared with my fingers. I added a little green in the brown.
I matted the image with several colors of cardstock. Patterned paper was carded to the front. I added stickers from SRM Stickers for my sentiment and the spider. The stitches are also stickers. A spider web was cut with my Silhouette. I added a bow of fabric.
Eventually I will link this up on the SRM Challenge blog.
I am also entering it into the Mixed Media Monthly Challenge - where the challenge is to use fiber, ribbon or twine.
Happy Halloween. I do so love getting messy. (Shhh - inside is a big spider hanging down) The person who this card is for - hates spiders.

World Card Making Day
Today is World Card Making Day. A holiday for card makers. I do hope all my card making friends get to spend the day indulging their fun craft. I will be on the road visiting my Mom but I will be excited when I get home to check everything out.
For today, I made a mixed media Halloween card to go along with the current challenge on Mixed Media Mojo. Make sure you pop over there to check out the other fun cards. You should really come play along with us too.
I had so much fun making this card. This is almost 6 x 6 card so I will have to pay extra postage to mail this card and it will have to go in a bubble envelope. Hard to tell but it is a black card base. There is then a layer of purple card stock where I wet the card stock and then tore and curled the edges. There is then a layer of wonderful plaid paper which you can't hardly see. Dang. There is also a strip of the same paper as the paper pieced bosom of Witchy Poo.
This stamp is from Whipper Snapper. Whipper Snapper is a Wisconsin based stamp company. Lots of great wonderful stamps. It is a special treat to go to the store in Brookfield. The only drawback is at the store you can only buy wood mounted stamps. But back to the card. She is stamped on a couple pages of a dictionary that were glued together with gel medium and then a layer of gesso was put down. She was colored with different mediums: gelatos, distress paint, distress ink, Big Pen. After she was done the background was done with distress paint and then two different colors of gelatos to get a stormy sky look. I mixed embossing paste with gelatos to get purple paste and put it through a stencil around the edges. Glossy Accents was added to the eyes of everything and to the pumpkin which is a sticker. SRM Stickers - sentiment and stitches finished off the background.
She was matted with more purple and an orange patterned paper. I added a fabric strip to the stripe across the card and made a bow from the fabric also. The matted image was pop dotted onto the front of the card.
Because I used the SRM Stickers on my card and part of their October challenge is Halloween, I am entering my card in that challenge. I love what the stitch stickers add to the card.
Thanks for stopping by and I hope you enjoy your World Card Making Holiday. Please stop by and visit us at Mixed Media Mojo and make a mixed media project with a little fabric in it.

Oldie Moldie Monday
A Quick post for today. Did not want to miss Oldie Moldie Monday. This image fell out of a 6 x 6 pad so it is going to be used. I just used some strips of paper. You will notice that the angles do not match. Hopefully it does not bother my Mom too much.
Thanks for stopping by.

Summer Fun
The monthly challenge on SRM Challenge blog is summer fun. I struggled with this because I had made a wedding card and I finally decided "weddings are summer fun" - I sure had a good time at this wedding.
My grandson got married and his family are such dog lovers that I thought it very appropriate to break out this Whipper Snapper stamp to make my wedding card.
I used two SRM Stickers on the card. The colors for the wedding were red and black.

Oldie Moldie Monday, Basic Grey, Paper Smooches and Whipper Snapper Stamps
Little slow this week getting my oldie moldie monday card posted. I just got it made. I was very busy last week and then I went and visited my daughter for a couple days. We had fun and I bought my granddaughter her dress to wear to her brother's wedding. That was fun. I had not shopped with a teenager for many years.
The card today uses a stamped image from Whipper Snapper Stamps that I have had colored for ages. The sentiments are from Paper Smooches. The paper is from a 6 x 6 pad from Basic Grey - this paper wasn't too old - the date was 2012.
This card will go in my Operation Write Home box. We always need love and missing you cards so I just combined in the need into one card.
I am sure next week there will be more paper used out of this pad. Remember to show some love for your old supplies.

Seize the Sketch and Basic Grey
This week on Seize the Sketch challenge blog they have a great sketch.
I needed to make some thank you notes for my daughter. She has had some wonderful friends who have helped her through a very rough time in her life. Her good friends came and took care of the dogs many days so Staci was able to be at the hospital with her husband and while the family were with Chris during his final hours, they brought the family food and drink to sustain them through the night. What can you do to thank a family for such kindness and friendship?
This is my version of the sketch made into a square card. I thought this image of a dog was very appropriate since one of Staci's dogs is a yellow lab and Axel alias Squirt is also yellow in color. I just noticed I forgot to color the collar. I think it will be red. Both stamps are from Whipper Snapper Stamps. The paper is from Basic Grey.

Oldie Moldie Monday
I took out some images I had already colored and found a 6 x 6 pad of My Mind's Eye with happy colors in it and made some cards for Oldie Moldie Monday. I made a total of 6 cards. I will share three today.
The top and bottom stamps are from Whipper Snapper Designs. The middle stamp is something - It is not jumping into my head at the moment. The heart for the bottom card was already cut in the 6 x 6 pad so I had to use it on a card.
These cards will be in my next Operation Write Home box.

Valentine Day and Tuesday Morning Sketches
Another Valentine Day card to share. It is going off to two very special people. Mom's favorite color is purple. I wonder if Londyn likes purple as well as Mom.
The design of the card is based on the sketch at Tuesday Morning Sketches. I stayed very true to the sketch except for adding a sentiment. The image, from Whipper Snapper Stamps, came with its own sentiment. This is a favorite stamp to use for my Operation Write Home cards. It is not really a valentine stamp, well in my opinion, and I guess for me that is what counts. Here is the sketch.
The paper is from Die Cuts With a View. It is their Spring Mix. They are beautiful colors to create with during this very long winter.
I am also entering it into the challenge Addicted to CAS where the code word is Love.
Now, I want to get this in the mail, but I put glossy accents on the hearts, so I need to let them dry. Luckily the post office in Janesville is open later than our local post office. I have a book and coloring book for Londyn to send along with the card. I have not been out shopping with this lovely winter so I guess I will have to wait to buy a new outfit for Londyn. That will go in her Easter package.

First Valentine Day's Card
This card had a ways to travel so I got it made and off in the mail early. The paper is from Recollections, Michael's brand. The stamp is from Whipper Snapper Designs - a Wisconsin stamp company.
Hope you are having a good week. It has warmed up here but we are predicted to have snow today. I am getting work under control and feel some of the heaviness lifting off of me.
Enjoy your Thursday.

Day 16 What Is On Your Design Table?
On my table top I found an entire container of stamped images and some were already colored. I found these two images - all colored - and luckily - there was paper on the table that worked to make a couple cards. The image is a Whipper Snapper Stamp.
Use up all those supplies. You never know what good stuff you have and sometimes limiting your choices makes you more productive. The cards will go in my next Operation Write Home box.

Day 14 - What Is On Your Design Table?
I found a few bunnies on my table that needed to be colored. The midweek throwdown this week on the Operation Write Home card blog Stars and Stamps - is to make an Easter card. I made two of these cards.
This cute bunny is from Whipper Snapper Stamps. It was colored with Copics. The sentiment is from Paper Smooches.
Enjoy your day.

Day 5 What Is On Your design Table?
Sandy - from Operation Write Home - has a call out for some penguin cards. I found this cutie all colored (in fact there are a few more) on my design table. Luckily there was a 6 x 6 pad of Bo Bunny paper on the table. I tried to pick out paper that was not Christmasy or too winter like. The die cut was on my table also. I did cheat on the embossing folder - I did take that off the shelf - the only one on my table was one with birds and flowers on it - I didn't think it would work.
So what is on your design table.

What's On Your Design Table - Day 4
Once a month we have a challenge which is sponsored by Our Daily Bread Designs - if we can post 50 cards in a month on a particular design topic - Our Daily Bread Designs will pay for 2 boxes of cards to be mailed overseas to our heroes. This is so wonderful of a company to do. Their donation brings so much happiness to our heroes and the people who receive the cards they send.
The design challenge this month is to use stripes.
I have been working off supplies on my design tables - I found this cute image already colored. The striped paper was in a pad on my table. I think it may have been the first time I have used that pad but the colors worked perfectly with the colors on the bunny and flower. The bunny is from Whipper Snapper Designs and the sentiment is from Paper Smooches.
Happy Friday.
