Golf Themed Birthday Card

I have a friend who's birthday is in June and he loves  to golf.  I have this wonderful impression from Art Impressions which I had actually colored quite awhile ago.  I had gessoed some dictionary pages and then heat embossed the image on the paper.  It was colored with distress inks.

Finishing up the card this morning, I found two masculine card challenges I am going to enter the card in.

I am so looking forward to my retirement in July.  I will be able to play with my toys so much more and be able to create to my heart's content.

Here is today's card.

This is a 5.25 inch square card.  The patterned paper is actually a winter collection from Simple Stories but I loved the colors for a masculine card.

Thanks for stopping by.  Enjoy your Sunday.

Greeting from Wisconsin - Contents Still Frozen

Last week I shared this card.

I assembled four more of the same card this week end.  I had one colored image left and not enough of my patterned paper to make this card so I improvised.  I flipped the card base and let the image hang off the bottom of the card.  Luckily the paper was double sided so I could use two small pieces side by side to do the front of the card.  Dug out some ribbon.  This time I stamped my sentiment with black ink and then put clear embossing powder over the top - it makes the sentiment pop.

Both stamps are from Wisconsin stamp companies.  The sentiment is from Crackerbox Palace in Janesville and the rodent is from Whipper Snapper Designs in Brookfield.

I am entering this card in the weekly Wednesday challenge on Simon Says Stamp.  The challenge is Anything Goes.

Well I am glad this week is half over with.  I have started some mixed media projects and still need to make some more valentine cards.  So do you also spend more time on Pinterest than you do creating.  I have been looking at tags and ATC's.  Lots of creations to drool over.

Enjoy your evening.

Sunflower - Thinking of You

Friends of mine have lost both of their Moms within the last month.  I wanted to send them a card to let them know that I am thinking of them.

One week end I had been playing with this sunflower stamp from Penny Black and experimenting with my coloring.  The coloring is done with watercolor pencils, distress inks and distress paints.  I learned lots from my coloring but at least I had one image I could use - actually two.  I used another image for the inside of the card.

The sentiment and banner are from Simon Says.

I am going to enter this card in three challenges.

Wednesday - Simon Says Stamp Challenge - Anything Goes

Sunday - AAA Cards - Watercolor

Monthly - Penny Black and More November  Anything Goes

Have a wonderful Sunday - I hope you find some time to create.

SRM Stickers, Stencils and a Wedding Card

This wedding card started out as a get well card but it turned out the person did not need a get well card but all of a sudden I needed a wedding card.  The point of interest turned to a heart and a heart sticker and celebrate sticker were added to make it into a wedding card.

The card is based on the monthly challenge from SRM Stickers.  I chose to use the color challenge.  Grey, Black, White and Red.

I created my background on my card with embossing paste.  I used a Hero Arts stencil I had never used before.  I stenciled it on some Bo Bunny dot paper so it is very subtle.  I cut the pin stripe heart with my Silhouette.  The stickers were both matted and pop dotted on top of the background.  I added the ribbon.  The entire front is pop dotted on top of the card front.  I added some glossy accents to the heart sticker.  I thought about adding some bling or enamel dots but I stopped myself.  I didn't think it really needed anything more.

I am also entering this card in the Wednesday Simon Says Stamp challenge which is to make your own background.

Thanks for stopping by.  Going to a Bachlorette party tonight.  I think it will be lots of fun.
