Happy Birthday Kendall

Yesterday I colored two images of a cupcake.  I made one birthday card yesterday and today I used the other image to make another belated birthday card.  I decided to use the sketch from Sweet Sunday Sketch Challenge.

I chose to use a square/rectangle instead of a circle in the sketch.

The paper is from My Mind's Eye.  The stamp is from Whipper Snapper Designs and the sentiment is unknown - it is a floater - floating around the design table/stamp box.  The image was colored with Copics.  The cherry has glossy accents on top of it and all the frosting layers have Wink of Stella on it.

Enjoy what remains of your Sunday.

Oldie Moldie Monday

I needed to make a sympathy card for a co worker who lost her grandfather to cancer.  When I make a sympathy card for a male, I usually dig out my tree stamps.  I guess trees are masculine to me and flowers would be a choice for a feminine sympathy card.

It is Monday - so time to show some love for some old supplies.  The paper is a 6 x 6 pad from My Mind's Eye.  The tree stamp is from Penny Black and the sympathy stamp - not for sure because it is hiding from me now.

I used the sketch from Sweet Sunday Sketch Challenge.  I love all the layers and of course I decided I needed to mat each layer.  Once again it is a loose interpretation of the sketch.  Their under strip is my vellum sentiment strip over the top.

Remember to show some love for your old supplies.  They make great cards yet.

Happy Monday - busy week at work.

Unity Stamps and I Am Sew Happy

A card I am going to send to my Mom - she is going through a little rough stretch right now but I guess when you are 94 that can happen.

For the card I used the sketch from Sweet Sunday Sketch.  She has a new sketch challenge each week.  I was pretty much true to the sketch this time.

Simon Says Stamp and Show challenge is to use numbers.  What better to use on a sewing card than twill tape that looks like a tape measure.

The weekly challenge on Paper Players is "in stitches" - the card can be sewing themed, have stitches, etc.

The cute stamp and sentiment are from Unity Stamps.  The paper is from Basic Grey - the Lucille collection - love the sewing motifs.  The little flower is made from pattern pieces.  I have enough pattern tissue to make at least a gagillion flowers.

Now it is time to get ready to go and have my taxes done - hope for a big refund so I can go to Alaska to visit my daughter.  Enjoy your evening.

Oldie Moldie Monday and Sweet Sunday Sketch

It is Monday - time to show some love for your older supplies.  Of course, you need to know where the supplies are that you want to use.  I had put everything away at Christmas but I had this one piece I had left out so I could color my images - took me awhile to find the remainder of the collection.

I have a special group of friends and I did not get holiday cards made for them so this is their holiday card.  They can be a flaky group of friends.  So to add the flakiness of the card not only being late - I made the cards so they all open backwards to make them smile.    I hope they enjoy them - each card is different but all use the same image and the same paper collection.  The stamp is a Whipper Snapper Design and the paper collection is from Collage Press.

The card is based on the sketch from Sweet Sunday.  The sketch is active for two weeks.

I had been going to do the sketch from the last two weeks but work has been busy and there was no creativity in my soul for the last couple weeks.  But yesterday, mission accomplished - I was able to complete that sketch also.  I just moved the accent to the other side of the circle.

Here is the sketch I used.
I have two more cards I am working on - stop by later in the week and you will be able to see them.

Remember to show some love for your oldier supplies.

Oldie Moldie Monday, Sweet Sunday Sketch, Paper Players Unite

Welcome to Monday - time to show some love to your older supplies.  The paper is from My Mind;s Eye - I love the colors in this collection - somewhat vintage but also rustic.  I had made a card yesterday with this same paper for the sketch challenge on Operation Write Home's card blog Stars and Stamps.

The card is based on the sketch from Sweet Sunday Sketch.  Hard to believe, but I stayed pretty true to this sketch.  I think that is a first for me in a long time.  I used my Silhouette to cut the banner.  The sentiment is from Paula - an active Operation Write Home designer.  This sentiment makes such a wonderful card for our Heroes to send home to their loved ones.

The card is also for the challenge on The Paper Players to Give Thanks.

There are so many things to be thankful for.  We need to take a little time each day to think about the things we are thankful for - it will make each day a little better.

Today and every day - I am thankful for my family.

Good morning - winter is coming - rain and sleet and ice - that is worse than snow. I do not like to ice skate in my car. Unfortunately you will now hear me complain about the weather until spring comes - and spring can't come soon enough.
I have a quick post today - trying to get some things done around the house - never seems to be enough time to get things done.
I made this card for my office to send to a gentleman who is battling cancer - I work with his wife during my very busy times of the year and so appreciate all her help. This card is to cheer them and let them know they are in our thoughts.
The card is based on the sketch from The Sweet Sunday Sketch challenge - of course - I took a little license with the sketch - I had to made the strip longer to accommondate my sentiment. I had just gotten that paper in a 6 x 6 pad - if you haven't heard - I have a soft spot for 6 x 6 pads - or maybe you could say obsession.
Well I must go - I am doing dishes and I have an appointment to have something done on my car also. I imagine they would like me to come in something other than my PJ's.
Have a very happy Thanksgiving.

Monday, 3/29/2010

Good Monday evening - almost bedtime - spent the evening with a friend, watched Dancing With the Stars - I can say I do hope Kate and Buzz go home this week. But we will see how the votes come in.
It is Oldie Moldie Monday - so time to dig deep in your supplies and find some paper to show some love to. This is one piece of paper which had all these different elements in. I made 2 cards and finished the insides with the one sheet of 12 x 12. My first card is based on the Sketch from the Sweetest Thing - Sweet Sunday Sketch.
Using the basic kraft paper as my cardbase - I used my dot Hero Arts background stamp to add some texture to the base. The kraft paper blended so well with the one sheet of paper I had for my cards.
Everyone have a wonderful evening.
Paper: Hot Off the Press
