Good evening - wanted to get this challenge card posted tonight - have found some time to do some challenges this week so I need to get them all posted in time.

This card is based on the sketch at Card Patterns. Very fun sketch - I had colored these snowmen so wanted to use them so why not put a square on top of the circle. This is another card for Operation Write Home so I try to keep them less bulky and of course, no glitter. Operation Write Home celebrated their birthday and had many challenges throughout the month sponsored by different groups or individuals. The Stamping Bazaar hosted a challenge to make a Christmas card so I am sharing this card with their followers.

Everyone have a wonderful evening - hopefully can get another card or two put together - I am carpooling so I have time to do something in the morning so I have been able to lay out a card each morning. Puts me in a good mood to face work if I can have a little paper therapy before I head to work.

Good morning - wanted to share these two cards this morning. Absolutely love this little girl - she is such a sweetie - guaranteed to bring a smile to the recipient of the cards. More cards for Operation Write Home. I got this lovely collection of paper and many things at Tuesday Morning - for $14.00 I hit a jackpot. I even have a couple scrapbooks - and I don't scrapbook.

These two cards will satisfy two challenges - the Operation Write Home card blog - Stars and Stamps midweek throwdown is a card for a girl or woman. I do believe they qualify. Also Dutch Dare Card Challenges is sponsoring a challenge for a card with any theme for Operation Write Home.

A second post for tonight - I have made some challenge cards and need to get them all posted and I like to keep each challenge separate.

This post is sharing the card I made for the Clean and Simple challenge. Very simple stamping - I guess you let the patterned paper do the talking for you. My scallops are different than the sketch but I do love the small scallop on this diecut.

Good late afternoon - another day of work done - got lots done which always makes you feel good. Now I wish I would accomplish something here at home. Oh gee - the week end is coming but did you know Saturday is World Cardmaking Day and I am actually going to be home so I might be able to play along a couple places. Maybe I should get some cards laid out so I can be ready for challenges on Saturday. Hmmmmmm - now I could do that.

Tonight I am sharing a card I made for a challenge on the SRM Stickers blog site - they are hosting a challenge for the Operation Write Home birthday celebration. They have a great sketch to inspire you. You have until Thursday evening to enter. Stop over and check it out.

Good early morning – I was on the road over the week end so I wanted to take a project with me so I decided to mass produce a set of holiday cards for Operation Write Home. This card was bouncing around in my head and needed to be set free. I love to make nature based holiday cards – must be the country girl in me.

One of the challenges over the week end at Operation Write Home is sponsored by Eclectic Paperie. All of their designers demonstrated how to mass produce a set of cards on a bloghop. My group fell right into this challenge – the challenge is not to make a set of cards but to make a card for OWH.

Here is the finished card – I made 12 cards like this.


Step one: Make your cardbase and stamp your pine bough on the bottom of your card front.

Step two: Take acrylic paint and a toothpick and just place white paint on the pine boughs. Just put it on there – don’t worry about it – each bough is different – some even have some large clumps of snow on them. I then dry brushed white paint around the edge of the card front and then across the front of the card.

Step three: Cut strips of paper and adhere to the top of the card.

Step four: Add rub ons – I ran out of red rub ons so had to stamp one card with a sentiment. You ask – why not just stamp your sentiment – well I wanted my cards to turn out – and sometimes when I stamp – oops – ruined card.

OK – one piece of advice when you are doing mass production – make sure your cards are all facing in the same direction – or you end up with an OOPS card but this one wasn’t ruined. Actually maybe I like this card better - which one is your favorite

The purple penguin story continues ............

This is a continuation of a post from last Monday - http://papertherapyponderings.blogspot.com/2010/09/monday-september-20-2010.html - where I am actually offering up prizes - a card made from your oldie moldie supplies, if it is purple your name gets thrown in the pot twice and if it has penguins on it your name is thrown intothe pot three times. This is open until the end of this month.

I still have lots more purple paper left in my oldie moldie supplies.

Three months from today - Christimas 2010 will be over with. I wonder did I get my holiday cards made, did I get my house cleaned and did the weather cooperate so we (my family) could all have Christmas together. Only time will tell. I am not looking forward to snow and cold,especially the snow.

Today's post I am sharing a Snowman frame I have made for the holidays. Moxie Fab is celebrating the release of their Cards and More holiday issue and and they have a challenge to create Decor to Make the Season Bright Challenge in the Moxie Fab World I love purple with snowmen. This little snowman is so cute - I love him. I created the polka dots on his scarf and hat using the colorless blender from Copic - it just removed the color and left the polka dots. I stamped the image on one of Basic Grey's plain patterned papers - love to stamp on patterned papers - gives your picture so much more texture and depth. I also colored around the outer part of the sentiment so the color exactly matched the colors used on the snowman.

I found this frame at Michael's - it is a fun frame to use because of the recessed area where you can put patterned paper. I painted a very light brushing of white on the frame and sanded it after the paint was dry. Cut strips of paper to place inside the recessed areas. I did miter the corners so they lined up almost perfectly - must be my years of sewing that make me do things like that.
