Oldie Moldie Monday
Wowsers - look at the color different between the top and bottom card. Top card is the true color.
Oldie Moldie Monday - time to show some love for old supplies. I was cleaning out some drawers to donate some supplies to a non profit art group. I found this piece of paper from Making Memories - it was dated 2005 - so it is well aged. The dots and stripes were on the same sheet. I also found a piece of solid paper which I used to mat my paper with.
The stamp is from TPC Studios. I thought it was a great sentiment for some Operation Write Home cards.
Enjoy your Monday.

Studio Calico, TPC Studios and Hero Arts Fuse together
Hello - I fused all those elements together and made a card using the current challenge on Fusion Card Challenge. It is a fun challenge because you can fuse the picture and sketch or do the sketch or use the picture as a jump start to your creativity.
I used the sketch for my card and then I took the cup/mug image and the colors for my card. The colors are a little loose but it is red, it is green and there is some blue. The paper is from Studio Calico, the mug is a stamp from TPC Studios which I paper pieced. The sentiment is from Hero Arts. I cut the banners with my Silhouette.
I also am entering it in a new challenge blog I found called Cut It Up - the challenge this week is "Going In Circles. You need to use a die cut on your card. My circles were die cut and also the banners with die cut.
I traced around the banners with a black sharpie because they needed to be grounded.
Thanks for stopping by.

Riley the Moose Mustache you a Question
I thought Riley the Moose needed to come out again this week. The card is a little similar to the card I posted on Sunday. This card is based on the sketch at The Sweet Stop. Echo Park makes the cute mustache paper.
Gee I am not very talkative - forgive me. One of those weeks.

Riley the Moose Meets Freshly Made Sketches
Scootching in under the wire to post this card for the sketch on Freshly Made Sketches. Riley the Moose was out today for some stamping. Come back later in the week to see the other card I made with Riley and the same paper.
Here is the sketch from Freshly Made Sketches.
The mustache paper is from Echo Park Paper Company. The matting paper is from a grouping I got at Tuesday Morning - it is from TPC Studio. I bought the packet because it had great matting potential. Riley was also stamped on some of this paper from TPC Studio. A sticker from SRM Stickers completes the cards. This card will be sent to an elderly gentleman having a few health issues.
Have a great Sunday evening - Green Bay Packers play on Sunday night football - so Wisconsin will be shutting down shortly.

Oldie Moldie Monday
It is Oldie Moldie Monday - time to show some love to some old paper - I had three sheets of this coordinating paper - the paper is from TPC Studio. The plane and boat were on the paper so I cut them out to use on a card front.
The midweek challenge on Stars and Stamps - Operation Write Home card blog - is to make a miss you card - so my little plane is pulling a banner saying miss you. On the boat I added the dot on the sail and the stripe on the hull. The last card uses a couple SRM Stickers to finish off the card.
A total of 5 more cards for my next box.

Monochromatic
The midweek challenge on Operation Write Home is monochromatic. I think this is one of the hardest cards to make - trying to stay within one color palette on your creation. It can be done and I have made three examples to show how different monochromatic cards can look.
The lavendar card is dry embossed with an embossing folder using a white core Coordinations paper. The sentiment was stamped in purple ink and a piece of patterned paper added a touch of color. It was all mounted on a piece of lavendar cardstock.
The green card is made with patterned paper by Kaiser Scrapbooking. It always helps if you work with coordinating paper when you want to do monochromatic cards - the shades of colors usually coordinate. The sentiment was stamped in a green ink on the coordinating paper. A green ribbon was tied on the card to add a little decoration.
The blue card is done with stamping. This is a stamp set from TPC Studio. I stamped on cardstock that was the same as my cardbase so it matches perfectly. It was matted with a solide navy cardstock and used the solid navy cardstock to separate the image and sentiment.
I hope you enjoy my examples of monochromatic cards. The reverse side of the green paper is orange. How fun will that be.

No Black Friday shopping for me. I did not want to battle crowds. There is nothing I need that bad. This morning I went out early to a store but it was not crowded - I bought myself a new 7 quart crock pot - I broke the insert in my other big one so before Christmas Day I needed to replace that crock pot. Got some groceries, and had breakfast at Cracker Barrell. I always love looking at their holiday stuff. I bought a few ornaments that I could use on card fronts.
Today's card is for a challenge on Facebook - Operation Write Home - we want to try to post 45 thinking of you cards in two days to celebrate one of the shipper's birthdays. I got mine done. I had just bought this embossing folder and wanted to try it out. I like it - it will make some great cards - it will also make some great card for Operation Write Home cards - beautiful but easy to mail. Luckily I had ink that matched plus this card base was laying on the table yet from a card I finished yesterday. I embossed some of the Coordinations - Whitewash paper.
Well I must go - I am making my chicken broth for Christmas dinner - but this way I will have the chicken meat to use for some potlucks coming up. I have a great hot chicken sandwich recipe I can make for the potlucks.
Everyone enjoy your evening. Uw Whitewater won their football game - making their way toward playing for the Division 3 football championship. The UW Madison Badgers are winning presently - will have a 3 way tie for the Big 10 title - but also may be rose bowl bound. Go Wisconsin - the Packers just need to bring a home tomorrow.

Oldie Moldie Monday, September 6, 2010
Happy Labor Day and Happy Birthday to my youngest daughter. Yes, she was born on Labor Day - the true definition of Labor. Hmmmm - 34 years ago. She ran a half marathon this week end - so proud of her.
This month Operation Write Home is celebrating their birthday with a month long celebration with lots of fun and challenges and prizes. You can follow along with the fun at their card blog Stamps and Stripes.
Today (Oldie Moldie Monday - the day to show some love to some older paper) I decided to dig into this stack of paper I bought a year or two ago - I don't know if I have made any cards out of it - but now I have made 5 cards. I will share 4 of them with you today. I used the paper that had all the little critters on it. I thought they would make great cards for the soldiers to send home. Little animals always make you smile.
This is the Die Cuts With a View "The Green Stack" - 70% recycled Paper. Why is that it that you run out of some sheets of paper to help finish cards. I need to see if I can find a sheet of the stripes for accent pieces, some coordinating green and some red.
Everyone enjoy your day.

Oldie Moldie Monday August 30, 2010
Good morning - it is Oldie Moldie Monday (OMM) - time to dig into some of that old paper and show it some love. It is amazing how many cards you can make out of a few sheets or scraps of paper. I could make cards for several decades I think - I would just need to buy card bases.
If you have lots of paper and enjoy making cards - have you considered making cards for Operation Write Home - you make cards and they are sent overseas to our soldiers so they can send home cards to their families and friends. What a wonderful thing to do. They are celebrating a birthday in September - lots of fun planned - so please stop by and play.
The top card design is based on the simple sketch at Clean and Simple Stamping. I always need help with clean and simple. Layers - lots of layers - are easy for me to do.
Everyone have a wonderful day.

My card tonight is based on the sketch from Clean and Simple - the second card is - oops - my sentiment did not stamp well so move the border strip up - but first stamp another flower. Card saved. The first card is more in line with the sketch. I am having fun with that dictionary - hmmm - I wonder how many cards can be made from one dictionary. I wish the pages were a little bigger but the price was right at Goodwill.
Everyone have a good evening.
