Good Sunday morning - dreary wet morning in Wisconsin. The days of taking pictures of your cards outside or in sunshine - I think will not return until May 2011 so I apologize for my even worse photography.
I went to a stamp show in Madison yesterday. I bought one set of stamps and some 6 x 6 pads of paper. I also picked up a couple new Sizzix embossing folders - I had wanted the Basic Grey one that says Merry Christmas on it and I got it. Yeah. I actually used one of the new ones on my card. I have several snowflake embossing folders.
My card today is based on the sketch at "The Sweet Shop" - a new sketch each Saturday. This challenge has the twist of finishing the inside of your card. The sketch called to me - all those layers - love layers. I also had this image colored so I wanted to use it. I love those little snowmen. I hope I can find the stamp to tell you who makes it - it is an older stamp. I used my new snowflake embossing folder on this card. I tried something new on the inside that I had seen before on Operation Write Home. Embossing your image - well I just embossed my sentiment and even my signature - I added the signature before I embossed because I thought it may be a little difficult to write on the embossed inside.
Well - one more Holiday card made - everyone enjoy the remainder of today.

Sunday, October 3, 2010

Good Sunday morning - I feel like my day is over I have accomplished so much this morning. Maybe I now need to take a break, watch football and make some cards. Sounds like a good plan to me.

Did you celebrate World Card Making Day yesterday? I did - I made maybe 6 or 7 cards yesterday and worked on some cards I have in the works for Operation Write Home. I need to get some personal cards made also - I am behind on birthdays - YIKES.

Today's card is being sent to a friend to say Hello. It is based on the sketch at The Sweet Shop . I have them linked on my blog for a Saturday sketch but I don't know if I have done them before. They always have lots of layers so that is right up my alley - the more layers - the better.

Well I need to get going and keep on this work flow - sheets are washed so need to get the bed made and have some lunch. I forgot to eat breakfast so an early lunch is in order. Have a wonderful day.

Wednesday 4-7-10

Card 1
Card 2

Card 3
Hump Day - yeah made it through - now we can start the downward slide to the week end. I need to do some housekeeping tonight - yuck - but I will do the dishes and maybe then I can make this card that is floating around in my head - come back tomorrow night and see if it happened.
I am still working on how many cards I can make out of 4 sheets of paper and a scrap piece - it sure helps when some of the paper is double sided. Infinite possibilities - well maybe not that many - but enough. Any big enough scraps are going into the scrap bin - I want to move onto some different paper. This all started with my Oldie Moldie cards on Monday, more on Tuesday and the last 3 tonight - I made a total of 7 cards and they are all for the Operation Write Home. If you want to make cards for a worthwhile cause - this is a great one. Check out their blog - they even have challenges.

Oldie Moldie Monday 3-15-10

Good morning – it is oldie moldie Monday. The day you post cards that you have made out of your well aged paper. It is a vice – buying paper – so in order to have to buy more paper we must use some of our well loved, (well we loved it one day – the day we bought it) and aged paper. Please join us and you can post your oldie moldie paper cards in our Flicker gallery.

I found this group of paper and it also has 3 sets of coordinating stickers. I did use one sticker on one of the cards. I even made the flower on one of the cards. I used a napkin from some restaurant and cut the layers with the small scalloped spellbinders. I stamped little dots on them and crumpled them up. It turned out pretty good for my first try. I did buy a dictionary at goodwill to use – I wonder where I hid it.

The first card is based on the sketch at The Sweet Shop. It was a fun sketch.

Well time to get going and head out to work – everyone have a wonderful day and I hope you get to spend some time being creative.

Stamp: Hero Arts (thank you and friend) Bird – acrylic stamp – not in package
Paper: Kelly Panacci by Sandylion
Colorbox Chalk Ink by Clearsnap – Chestnut Roan

Thursday, March 11, 2010

Good Thursday morning. This is my morning of doctor appointments before I head to work so going to work in a few other errands around the doctor appointments. Oil change on the car, post office, maybe some groceries, scrapbook store, it is next door to the last doctor appointment - so I need to drop in and see if they have anything new and interesting. We have been having lots of dense fog - I hate driving in the fog - you drive down a road everyday - and in the fog - you lose your bearings and really have no idea where you are. Of course, people still pass. The snow is melting though - maybe by the end of today - I will see all of my deck. Everyone is so ready for spring. How is the weather where you live?
Today's card is for a special friend who is battling cancer. She needs something to make her smile right now. Don't tell anyone - but I have even bought cards to send her - there are some pretty funny cards out there. I bought one of the taking cards - it is so funny - I would love to be a mouse in the corner when she opens that card.
The card is based on the sketch at The Sweet Shop - they have a sketch on Saturday - it was a fun sketch - I got out a pad of paper I had bought - it is a valentine collection from My Mind's Eye - but enough of the paper does not have hearts on it so you can use it for everyday cards.
Everyone have a wonderful day.
Stamp: Stampendous colored with Copics
Paper: My Mind's Eye
Ribbon: Offray
Buttons: supplies
Rub on: One Heart One Mind
Colorbox Chalk Ink (inked edges of card)

Oldie Moldie Monday 3-1-10

Can you believe it is March 1 - I hope that means that the snow will melt and spring comes. I think the entire US is ready for spring - winter has been interesting for so many people this year. I know I am ready for spring - I want to see what flowers come up in my new flower beds and the thrill of having some "dirt therapy" - although sometimes it is hard to choose between dirt therapy and paper therapy.
Today is Oldie Moldie Monday - dig into your supplies and find that beautiful paper that has been aging on the shelves for several years - it is still beautiful - it has just been forgotten - show it some love. My friend Ivanka and I do this on Monday - we have a Flicker Group - where people can join us and put their Oldie Moldie cards also.
My first card is loosely based on a sketch from a new site I found this week when I was out surfing the net - The Sweet Shop - stop by and check them out.
I have two birthdays in the office today - so this card is for one of my students - can you guess her favorite color.
Everyone have a wonderful day - I know work will be very busy this week.

Paper: One Heart One Mind
Stamp - 1st card - Hero Arts (bought shopping last Friday) - added a strip of adhesive to one line and added adhesive.

Spellbinders
