Wow - it is already June

Good Saturday evening - how did we get to Saturday so fast - as you can see from lack of blog posts - no creating went on this week. I did do some kit prep work - but the design was already figured out. So tomorrow hopefully I can get some more designing done for kits for a Operation Write Home card party in July.

This is the patriotic grouping from My Mind's Eye. I made a card for the Memorial Day blog hop for Operation Write Home with this same grouping - just some different papers in the grouping.

I hope you had a good day. Warmth has returned to Wisconsin but tonight it is suppose to cool down and be a wonderful day. I do need to get groceries so think I will be up early and get that done - maybe I will treat myself to breakfast out.

The purple/penguin saga continues .......

Good Monday morning – a quick post before I head out the door to work – it is oldie moldie Monday and the purple/penguin saga continues – I think I still have more paper left – come back next week – although I do think I have used all my penguin stamps now so I need to start repeating stamps.

These cards for me – as you can see – I added Stickles – when I create for Operation Write Home – no glitter so I don’t use my Stickles. It felt good to Stickle again. I used my new die cut from Sizzix which also embosses - aren't those purple snowflakes fun. I even made a few birthday cards this week end. Trying to catch up.

Everyone have a great day – we are celebrating Boss’s Day – we are having a soup luncheon – Pasta Fagoli, salad, bread and dessert. Yummy. I bet there will be leftovers also.

Give a cardmaker scraps -

Good Sunday afternoon. I am having a 4 day week end. Spent Friday and Saturday with my daughters. Great fun. The girls ran a race. Carrie did a half marathon and Staci did the shorter race - both had better times than they normally do so they were feeling good. I was quite proud of them. It was a cold windy day. We then spent the remainder of the day having a nice lunch, shopping and then they cooked a wonderful dinner. It is great to have daughters that can cook - when they are around - I never have to cook. Of course, a little vino and beer was flowing.
Operation Write Home is celebrating their birthday this month so I have set a goal of a card a day - I am already behind but I think by the end of today I may catch up or be close to catching up. Keep it simple.
I found these scraps of paper on my table and I love the colors so decided to make cards out of them. The first card is based on the sketch and Clean and Simple. The background paper is already distressed so adds character to the card. Add a simple thank you stamp and some flowers from the flower drawers. The remainder of the scraps were layered on a card base. The same thank you stamp added the sentiment.
Come back tomorrow and see what I can do for Oldie Moldie Monday. I have some cards already started.
Card Details:
Size: 4 x 5.5
Patterned Paper: We R Memory Keepers
Stamp: Great Impressions
Flowers: Prima, American Crafts
Brads: Hot Off the Press

Tuesday 4-13-2010

Good morning. A quick post before I head out the door to work today. The last of the cards I made with my oldie moldie paper – 4 sheets of paper and 10 cardbases and my collection of golf stamps. I must say – by the time I made my last card – I was very sick of this paper.

All these cards were made for Operation Write Home – I hope they will bring a smile to the recipients – both the soldier that receives the cards to mail and the person who receives a note from a loved one.

This is a worthwhile cause – if you have some spare time and 4 sheets of paper – see what you can do for this worthwhile cause.

Paper – Hot Off the Press

Stamp – Sentiment (Hero Arts); Image (Great Impressions)

Sunday - Do I really need to go back to work?

Good Sunday morning - why do 4 day week ends go so fast and back to work tomorrow and it will be a 5 day week - oh my - I don't know if I will be able to make it through. It is an extremely busy time - so yes - I will make it through - and won't even realize how fast the time went.

My card today is based on the sketch at The Fresh Batch - Stamps and Smiles. Yes I know it is the third card I have made out of this paper - a new year resolution was to use up some of my paper - so if you have the paper out - use it - I put the remainder of the paper in a bag for one of my friends - but I may have to dig it out to make another card. This card will be the beginning of a set of cards for a gift.

Everyone enjoy your day - going to finish up my pulled pork sandwiches today and bake some bar cookies for my son in law. I hope they make it back from Costa Rica today and I hope their car starts when they get back. They were held over for a day.
