Freddie the Frog

Good evening - cold, wet and miserable in Wisconsin. Just stay inside and make some cards or do dishes - I am doing dishes in between computer time. Dishes need a good soak sometimes.

My card tonight is for a special person. I thought Freddie the Frog would bring a smile to his face. Freddie is part of the digital images from I Brake for Digis. There is a large collection of Freddie digital images on the site - Freddie with a walker (what a great image for a monumental birthday), happy hour Freddie, Freddie on a motorcycle, you get my picture - lots of great Freddie images. You can find them all at this link.

The card is based on the weekly sketch at 365 Cards - they have a different challenge every day.

I have one spring card to finish up tonight and get in the mail tomorrow.

Everyone have a wonderful evening.

Size: 5 x 7

Friday, May 21, 2010

Good Friday evening - the cold of winter was in our office - I actually got out a blanket and wrapped it around my legs to try and stay warm at work today. I think they need to do a little tinkering with the temperature in there. Monday - even though it is suppose to be 90 degrees outside - I am going to dress very warmly for inside the building.

I have another thank you card to share with you. Same stamp and paper from yesterday. Another very special person who needs a thank you for their love for our friend Shari.

The card is based on the Sunday sketch at 365 Cards - Hopefully I am somewhat in the ballpark with the sketch. I made the flower with beige tissue paper and some of the patterned paper.

I am planning a quiet week end at home - try to rejuvenate the soul and get some work done around the house.

Card details:
Size: 5.5 x 5.5
Patterned Paper: My Mind's Eye
Stamp: Hero Arts
Ink: Colorbox Chalk Ink by Clearsnap

Prize Package for Oldie Moldie Monday Challenge May 3

Sketch Challenge 2 Sketches 4 You

And you say - what is this about a PRIZE PACKAGE. Come back on Monday and play along with Ivanka and I on “Oldie Moldie Monday – the day of the week when you dig out that once loved paper that has gotten buried by new loves – dig it out and create a card or cards from it. Ivanka and I are offering up prizes (yes we each have a prize) – but of course they is a little bit more to the challenge. Come back on Monday and play with us.
My prize includes a pad of Basic Grey paper and 3 different sticker collections from SRM Stickers. Intrigued - I hope so - and you don't need a blog to play - we have a Flicker gallery where you can post your creations.
Now onto the card for today - it is based on the weekly sketch at 2 Sketches 4 You. A fun sketch - I have been wanting to make a baby card for a co worker who just became a grandparent - this card is for her and her husband. I still need to make a card for the parents. I love to use non traditional items on my cards. The main focus is the iron on applique giraffe - he has so much character - plus he was on sale.
The card also satisfies the midweek challenge on the Operation Write Home Card Blog - "wild thing" - I think my giraffe qualifies.
This card also qualifies for Circles 3 Different Ways on 365 Cards - circles on the giraffe, buttons, polka dots on the paper and the also the O's in my sentiments.
Beautiful weather here - so have been trying to work outside and inside and play with a little paper. The lawn is mostly mowed - at least what the public sees so the neighborhood doesn't look bad. Everyone enjoy your evening.
Size: 5 x 7
Patterned Paper - Hot Off the Press (this qualify as Oldie Moldie)
Giraffe - Duncan Enterprises
Ribbon - May Art
Sticker - SRM Stickers
Buttons - American Crafts

Card 1 - 365 Cards Sketch Challenge, Circles Challenge

Card 2 - Creative Corner Sketch Challenge Blog

Prize Package for Oldie Moldie Monday Challenge May 3

Good Friday afternoon - storms moving in so it will be a quick post. I was able to do some creating last night and this morning. I took the day off to get some work done and errands run. The garage looks somewhat better and I think I was safe in running the gas out of the snowblower. I guess I now need to go buy gas for the lawnmower. I also got my drivers license renewed and some blood work done. I think that was pretty good day - and I still have the evening to do more things.
I have two cards to share with you tonight. With these two cards I satisfied 4 challenges - that is pretty good for me. Sketch challenge on 365 Cards and Sketch Challenge on Our Creative Corner Sketch Challenge blog. The Friday challenge on 365 cards is to use circles and the challenge on Die Cuts R Us was to post two projects.

Inside

Back

Good Sunday evening - back to work tomorrow. Oh please let it be quiet. Very busy week end. I went and visited my Mom on Saturday. Lots of driving in one day. Today I got groceries and did some carding and then spent some time with Shari - can you believe I was putting hair on a Chia pet. I imagine no one else was doing that today. Also made some homemade chicken soup.
My card tonight started out as the sketch on Clean and Simple stamping - well I can't do that - it is the sketch but there is nothing simple about mine. I have a thing for layers. One of the challenges on 365 Cards (Challenge 53) was to do the outside, inside and back of your card. So my card is ready to go. Unfortunately I could not find my stamp with my name on it to put on the back - you must imagine my name is stamped on the back.
The stamps are from Hero Arts. We have a thing about Bee's in our family - 4 generations of women with the middle name of Bea.
Everyone have a wonderful evening and Monday. Come back for Oldie Moldie Monday.

Cardmaking goes green. Earth Day is tomorrow - it is founded by Gaylord Nelson 40 years ago. Gaylord Nelson is from Wisconsin.
In an ongoing effort to save trees and money, I have been trying to make cards from my oldie moldie supplies - they are still beautiful - they just got buried by all the new supplies we buy - now don't get me wrong - I have not completely stopped buying - I still can not resist the call of new paper - but if you stay out of the stores it sure helps - and stay off the internet. My cards cut across several challenges. Both cards are from the sketch designs at 2 Sketches 4 You - haven't done these sketches for awhile - I just hate it when life gets in the way of playing with paper. The second challenge is from Die Cuts R Us - it is an earth day challenge to add at least one earth related embellishment. The third challenge is from 365 Cards - Day 50 - item more than a year old (paper), something given to you (shopping bag) and something forgotten (lace) - when you sew you forget you have all these pieces of stuff laying around. Luckily there was enough for the 2 cards.
My embellishments (the flowers) are made from the shopping bag from one of my favorite stores in Madison, WI - The Scrapbook Superstore - I used my Cuddlebug and the circle dies from Spellbinders to cut layers of 3 different sized circles for the large flower. The smaller flowers only use two sized circles but many layers. I distressed them and added a brad to hold them together.
The card base on each card is the covers from programs. I can not throw away good cardstock - even if I have to tear it off things that are being recycled in the trash.
I hope you enjoyed my "a little bit green" creations.
