We R Memory Keepers and Stampendous Unite

I have been making cards using We R Memory Keepers paper.  I found this grouping on my shelf - the colors are very soft.  I have had this particular method in my brain for awhile to try - the stamped image is behind the cutout.  The diecut was cut out of the center of the top paper and then pop dotted over the stamped image.

The image is by Stampendous which I embossed using Versamark and white embossing powder.  I added some bling to the center of the flowers - hopefully I did not go overboard with my bling.  I had made a bow out of the ribbon but did not like it on the card so I removed it and then added the flower on the left side.  Adding a sticker from SRM tops off the card perfectly.

Hot and muggy in Wisconsin - worked outside this morning to finish mowing my lawn and trimmed some branches off some trees.  Before it got too hot - I had a pork tenderloin thawed - so put that on the grill - it tastes very good.  One of the neighbor children just showed up at my front door with a cupcake - yummy - I think it must be time for an afternoon snack.

Remember to come back tomorrow for Oldie Moldie Monday and see the cards I made for Operation Write Home - think Snowman.

More We R Memory Keepers

Good morning - I could have posted these yesterday but I was feeling lazy.  Of course - I did end up at the dentist and had to have a crown - money flying out the window.  I was lucky the dentist was able to work me in and get my tooth fixed before the week end.

I have been working on more cards out of paper from We R Memory Keepers - I keep finding more paper - I found another grouping last night so I want to make a card out of that paper before I send the box on its way - I do want to put it in the mail today so need to get myself in gear.  I also need to mow - or start mowing my lawn - 9 is a polite time on the week end to start mowing - it is suppose to be very hot here today again so want to get started before it is too bad outside.

Of course my cards are for Operation Write Home - I love it when the paper does the card for you - you don't need to do any stamping or coloring - everying is done by the paper and it's embellishments - add a sentiment and you have a fun card.  I am sure the cards will make some heroes family or friends smile when they receive them.

Everyone have a wonderful day.

Non traditional Holiday colors

Good evening - another card using a grouping from We R Memory Keepers - very non traditional colors for a winter/holiday card but I really like how it turned out.   I have had this stamp for years but they are so cute.  Makes you want to put them in the freezer and keep them all year around.  I wonder if they would like this hot weather we have been having in the midwest.   This card is for Operation Write Home.

Everyone have a wonderful evening - I do hope my dentist is in tomorrow - I think I lost part of a filling or tooth - I had some work done last week - I wonder if that was the tooth.

We R Memory Keepers and Hero Arts Unite

Good evening - when it is hot - make snowman cards - try to feel cooler - I do believe it is the AC that is actually making me feel cooler - of course - when the electric bill comes - I won't feel so cool.

The card I am sharing - is somewhat of a challenge I gave myself - I said I could make a winter card out of this particular grouping of paper from We R Memory Keepers.  I actually made two - come back tomorrow night and see the other one.

We R Memory Keepers is sponsoring the drive for cards for Operation Write Home so dug through my supplies to find any of their paper I had to make some cards to send off to them.

Have a wonderful evening.  Off to make a few more cards - want to get a box sent off this week yet to them.

We R Memory Keepers and Whipper Snapper Stamps Unite

What do you get when you put together a Whipper Snapper stamp and a couple pieces of We R Memory Keepers Paper.  You get cute - well I think it is cute.  I know it will bring smiles to a soldier who has access to Operation Write Home cards and sends it home to a loved one.

Tonight - I told someone I could make a holiday card out of this very non holiday paper - so that is my assignment for tonight - if I accept it.  Come back tomorrow to check it out and see if I accomplished my chosen assignment.

Oldie Moldie Monday

Monday - time to show some love to some older supplies.  The supplies are still beautiful they just get buried with all that new stuff.  The papers are from three companies - actually maybe four.  I used a stamp from Inkadinkado.  This seems to be a go to sketch for me when I want to create cards.  I have enough paper to make at least 3 more of this same design.  The cards are for Operation Write Home.

I added the lace and May Arts twine at the very end and I think it was a great choice to dress up and lighten a card that seemed a little dark.

Enjoy your evening.

Mission Accomplished

Mission accomplished - the OWH cardmaking party in Madison, WI at the Scrapbook Superstore was a wonderful success.  We think about 3000 cards were made and dropped off - there were still some kits left which we will get finished and mailed to Operation Write Home.  Thank you Scrapbook Superstore, Sandy (founder of OWH) and Kris (Midwest Shipper) for coming to our event, Robin and Cindy for all their hardwork and all the wonderful cardmakers who showed up.

The card I am sharing is for a co worker who is moving into a new position.  It is based on the challenge at The Playdate Cafe which is to use black and white with a splash of color.  Pink is the color I have chosen.  The cute tree is from Paper Crafts - it is a free download.

I hope you enjoy my take on the challenge.

A long week end begins

This card is another card kit for this upcoming week ends card making party in Madison, WI at the Scrapbook Superstore.

How lucky am I that the midweek challenge on OWH Stars and Stamps is kid's cards.  I think some little boy will love getting this card from a loved one serving overseas.  How easy to make a card when your patterned paper does all the work for you.  I generated the sentiment on the computer.

Everyone have a good day - I am home today - and working on some projects for this upcoming cardmaking party.

Hump Day but really my Friday

Sharing another kit for this upcoming week end card making party.  This is a Dustin Pike digi image that was free.  I colored the bear with copics and I had colored 6 but a copic fell through the air and landed in white space - can't get it cleaned up and where it is located - putting something over it would look very silly.  Thus, there are only 5 cards in this kit.

The weekly challenge on the OWH Stars and Stamps blog is Cards 4 Kids  - I do believe this qualifies.

I am off the next two days - but tonight I need to make a personal card for the office to give to a co worker who is moving to a different job on campus.  We want to wish her good luck on her new adventure.

OWH cardmaking kit

a very small kit for this upcoming week end.  I had this 8.5 x 11 sheet of fall leaves paper and made it into 4 cards.  The stamp is - if I remember right - from the dollar bin - I used a couple colors of Tim Holtz ink on the stamp to make it fallish looking.  I like how they turned out. I pop dotted the sentiment to give the card a little dimension.   A very simple card but I know it will make someone very happy to receive it in the mail.

Oldie Moldie Monday

Good Monday evening - had a nice dinner with some special friends - we were hoping to sit on their deck by the river but we opted for being inside - it is in the 90's here with heat index close to 100 and the humidity - YUCK.  Needless to say - no more words needed except this is suppose to last all week.

This is a card I made for Operation Write Home for a special post.  This paper is from an old Christmas pad - for such a simple card - it took forever for it to come together.  I really like the card now and am thinking of making a few like this for my own cards this year.  The trim is a torn piece of muslin which is tea or coffee dyed.

I am too lazy to walk over and find out who the stamp is from.

Everyone enjoy your evening.  Off to make another kit for the cardmaking party in Madison this week end - last I heard there is still room - so call the Scrapbook Superstore and reserve your spot.

Hppy Birthday Halley

A birthday card I made for my neighbor girl.  Such a little sweetie.  We went to Toys R Us Shopping and then we have dinner at Red Robin.  I do this for the 5 kids - it is always a good time.  It is about the only time I go to Toys R Us and I always find things I need ???

The sweet image is from Melonheadz Illustrating.  It came already colored so it helps the cardmaking come along much faster.   For this family, I always make my cards open backwards - the first time it was a mistake - and now it is a tradition.  They would be disappointed if I made a card that opens normally for them.

A few more kits were assembled today for the Operation Write Home event in Madison next Saturday - hmmmm - I wonder - I hope - to get a few more made this week.  Everyone have a great evening.  Too bad we have to go back to work tomorrow.

More Kits

These are two kits I made for next week's OWH party.  I used digitals by Paula.  Makes making a card so much easier.  I did color the bottom card wtih Copics  - the image in the top card came already colored.  I must remember to cut the scallop edge for the bottom card - I ran out of my removable tape so keeping the paepr on the die cut it difficult.

The top card uses some of the new embossed paper from Bazzill that you can sand.  I thought it added great texture to the card.

Thanks for stopping by.

Another card kit

Another kit of six cards for the Operation Write Home card making party in Madison Wisconsin at the Scrapbook Superstore.  Hope to see you all there.

This card is similar to the card I had published in an stamping issue from Paper Crafts.  Easy peasy card to do.

Hump Day

Good evening - I wanted to share a card kit I am making for the card making party for Operation Write Home in Madison on July 23.  Only 6 cards in this kit - I love the homespun look of the card.  The paper is from a pad from Die Cuts R Us.  The stamp is from Unity - I love the ease of stamping with just one color and not having to color.  Just call me lazy or smart.

Have a good evening.

Tuesday - what more is there to say

Some mini cards I made with paper from Kaiser Scrapbooking.  Very cute little cards - I can send a little holiday greeting to three people.

Enjoy your evening - working on more kits.

Oldie Moldie Monday

Here is my card for Oldie Moldie Monday - time to show some love for that old paper - I have used this paper before for Oldie Moldie Monday.  I wanted to make a card for a soldier wounded in Afghanistan - brings back the memories from a friends injury and recovery.  I want to wish Josh courage in his battle to recover and hope for him and his family.

If you wish to send him a card - here is his address

Where did the week end go?

Good Sunday evening -  sharing a card I made a couple weeks ago.  I got this digi image free from somewhere - it was right before my computer decided to dump so I don't know where I found it.    I had a paper page of this paper and the sentiment was from there.

Working on some kits for the Operation Write Home card making party in Madison, on July 23.  Hope to see you there.

Yeah it is Friday

Trying to share some of the cards I made when I had no computer.  This was a retirement card for a co worker - lucky her - she will be missed - very knowledgeable and very nice to work with.

The patterned paper makes this card and then I just had fun adding all the fun embellishments.  Life is Sweet (so appropriate for retirement) is a sticker from SRM Stickers.

Everyone enjoy your Friday.  Wisconsin is gearing up for another hot week end.

Christmas in July

Good evening - Christmas in July - especially if you make cards for Operation Write Home.  This week's midweek challenge is Christmas in July on the OWH Stars and Stamps blog - luckily I was working on a kit for the Cardmaking party in Madison, WI on July 23 at the Scrapbook Superstore.

I found this stamp at Big Lots for $2 - it is by Inkadinkado - went through all my white ink to find one that worked the best on the kraft paper - unfortunately I do not remember which ink it was.  The paper is from a stack I bought.  The sentiment is on a sheet of paper in the stack also - so I got all my sentiments from the stack.  I think this card has a very homespun look to it.  There are 6 to 8 cards in this kit.

Everyone enjoy your evening.

Another Kit

This is another kit for the Operation Write Home card making party in Madison Wisconsin on July 23.  Just 6 cards in the in kits - but I did use up some more older - but once loved paper.

Had an enjoyable birthday celebration with one of my neighbor children.  Shopping at Toyr R Us and then dinner at Red Robin.  I even found a couple things at Toys R Us -  I never go to that store - so when I go in with the kids - I find some new treasures for gifts.

Happy July 4th

Oldie Moldie Monday Card #1

Oldie Moldie Monday Card #2

Card Kit for Today - also Oldie Moldie Papers

Hmm - the one thing I hate about the 4th - all the random fireworks that goes off at all times - day and night - yesterday morning there was one - no oops - that was the transformer across the street.

Today is Oldie Moldie Monday - time to show some love for some old paper.  The first two cards were made out of paper and stickers from Bo Bunny - hard to believe that OWH is already thinking  about Fall cards.  The Card Kit is from Hot Off the Press - a collection of masculine papers.  I really like how they all turned out.

Well off to cook some dinner on the grill.  I made brownies this morning, and 5 pounds of potatoes into potato salad but the majority of that is for friends.

Enjoy the remainder of your day and the fireworks - unfortunately it is back to work tomorrow.

Challenge #1

Fall Thank You Card

Winter Thank You Card

Operation Write Home is having a virtual card party - every couple hours a new challenge is posted - so I decided to play - I don't how many I will get done - I need to go clean sinced I have company coming tomorrow and she wants to do some scrapbooking.

Sandy - esteemed leader of OWH - has a challenge on her blog A Colorful World  to make two cards using the same stamp or papers or something but to make it fit two different seasons - or something like that - I think this works for that challenge - a very old thank you stamp from my collection but it works well for fall and winter.  I can't use glitteer on OWH cards - and that snowflake looks so naked.  Oh well - it is better to have a naked snowflake than to put one of our hero's in harm's way.

I may make these into kits also - I think I can make 3 more of the leaf thank you - minimum of 6 of the snowflake thank you.

I really love long week ends

This is today's kit - all patterned paper

This really did start out as the sketch for this week on Operation Write Home Stars and Stamps blog  - honest - but I did not like it and I still don't know if I like this version.  No sure.

Did you see how I chalked the image - I masked Snoopy and then I tried to create a horizon - green grass and blue sky.  Do you like that affect?

The question is should I make this into a kit for the Operation Write Home, Cardmaking Party, in Madison Wisconsin on Saturday July 23 at the Scrapbook Superstore.  If you are interested in coming, call and make your reservations - 608 833 6300.  Space is limited.

I love long week ends

Good evening - I was up visiting my Mom - she does amazingly well for being 92 years old.  I did some errands for her and some cooking - of course - now I am home and too tired to do too much here.  She has groceries but I don't - tomorrow.  I did manage some paper therapy on the way through Madison.  Of course, I needed all of it - OK - probably not.

We have an Operation Write Home card making party coming up in July - and I am busy making kits for it - most kits will be six cards.  Try to use up some of my extra paper.  It is amazing how many cards you can make with a 12 x 12 sheet of paper.  I have had the plaid on this card for years, the stamp also, and the brads.  The kraft paper and black paper are basics in your card supplies.  I used a Sizzix embossing folder to add some depth to the kraft paper.

This card is based on the challenge at Cas-ual Fridays - Clean and Simple challenge blog on Fridays - this challenge was to make a masculine card using kraft paper.  I think this is pretty clean and simple.  Thanks for the inspiration to help me get another kit designed - now I need to go cut the pieces.

Card Kits

Good morning - today I am sharing a couple kits I have prepared for an Operation Write Home card party which is being held later July in Madison, WI at the Scrapbook Superstore.  My goal is to have 100 cards ready to be made.  I think I can do it.  Each of these kits are 6 cards each.  I love this truck  stamp - It is from a company that is no longer in business - Cornish Heritage Farms- sad - they had beautiful stamps.  I thought the kraft paper with the tire tread design on it was a perfect complement to the travel paper and truck stamp.

I love to find patterned paper with words on it - such as the happy birthday paper - no need to add a sentiment - the paper says it all.

Did you realize Operation Write Home has sent a million cards overseas to our Heroes to send home to loved ones and they are making a start on their second million.  I am sure the second million will happen much faster than the first.

Everyone have a wonderful day - stay cool - heat advisory here in Wisconsin.
