Smile

Now isn't this a versatile stamp - it could be sent for so many reasons - it can be masculine or feminine. I think I have already used it for a couple cards and they are probably somewhere on this blog.
This card is a graduation card. Smile - on the inside it will read - because you graduated and the recepient will smile - she will even giggle. I am so glad she has crossed my path in the last four years and I think I have helped her along the way a few times.
Stamp - Hero Arts
Paper - Basic Grey
Ribbon - Offray
Colorbox chalk ink
The card was based on the sketch at Our Creative Corner - they have fun challenges every Saturday. Pop in and check them out.

Less than 6 months till Christmas

I was standing at Big Apple Bagels last Thursday and I looked up at their calendar and realized that Christmas was 6 months from that day - YIKES. I guess I had better get started on making my holiday cards. One down - how many more to go. This time I am going to finish the insides at the same time I makethe outside - that way - they will be ready to be placed in the mail. Maybe I should even get an envelope out and dress the envelope also - you know you should never send an envelope naked through the mail.
This card was based on the sketch at Card Positioning System (Sketch 122). A very simple sketch but I let the paper do the talking and that cute little stamped image. Wouldn't this card bring a smile to your face if you got it for the holiday season. I made an a@ sized card rather than a long card.
Paper - Basic Grey - pad I bought at Michael's
Stamp - Hampton Art - colored with Prisma colored pencils and Gamsol
Red strip put through the crimper
Made card base from patterned paper and did some sewing
A2 size
Everyone have a wonderful evening - I even feel like creating tonight. I need a new baby girl card, a birthday card - oh yes - I must finish the inside of last week's sketch card so I can give it to my boss on Wednesday.

Another work week about to begin

Today was a challenge day to take a picture - I wanted to take the picture outside but it was extremely windy. You would get the card up and get ready to take a picture - and it would blow over. It looks like the card was lit from underneath - I think I figured out that problem and another one I have with taking pictures outside - this is a big learning experience for me.
Had a quiet week end - did not get too much done - but I did relax and that was the intent of the week end. I had some dirt therapy this morning - got more weeds out of the flower garden - always such a good feeling. I also completed a couple cards.
Tonight's post is for the challenge at Cupcake Craft Challenge - this is a new challenge site I found and I like the sketch - their sketches are posted on Monday I believe - I needed to make my weekly monkey card - thanks for the inspiration.
Paper - Making Memories pad
Stampendous Stamp colored with Copics

Lazy Lazy Lazy

Would you believe I have had this card done since Sunday - photo taken on Monday - but I was lazy and never got it posted. I had better get it done - it is based on the sketch from
Card Positioning System - fun sketch. I keep thinking it looks naked - that it needs more - it is going to be a birthday card for a birthday in July.
Paper, strip and flowers - Deja Views (great buy at 1.99 for the pad)
I am having a lazy Saturday - I am watching tennis - have been doing some coloring and I am now going to go make a card or two - I hope. Everyone enjoy the remainder of your Saturday.

Humorous wedding sentiments

Feeling lazy tonight - so not going to download that card I made - maybe tomorrow night. I was finishing my wedding card (monkey) and she found a couple humorous sentiments to put in the card.

We are all a little weird
and life’s a little weird,
and when we find someone whose
weirdness is compatible with ours,
we join up with them and
fall in mutual weirdness and
call it love.

and

It's so great to find that one special person you want to annoy for the rest of your life.

Hope you had a smile - have a good evening.

Monday - a memory

Isn't it always nice when you made it through Monday and you survived. Yeah - always a good feeling. We had a "Build a Salad" luncheon today at work - one of my co workers has a garden and had lots of lettuce so she brought the lettuce and we all brough "add ons" - I bought bread and a dessert - it was quite tasty. Tomorrow - back to the good ole frozen meals - but it will be too hot to go anywhere - we are in the 90's this week.

Here is my weekly monkey card - sent off with lots of love to my friend Shari - I really like how it turned out - I am sure it will make her smile and I know she needs a smile - this round of chemo is hard on her. It fell into the challenge over at Penny Black Challenge site - the challenge was to use embossing - I love how the two different texture plates added so much to the paper - gave it some nice dimension.

Stamp Penny Black - colored with Copics

Paper - Basic Grey

Button and flower from the "supplies"

Everyone have a lovely evening.

Why are Week End only 2 days long??

Maybe a 3 day week end would be long enough - but I bet pretty soon we would all complain that it was too short. Usually in the month of July I try to do 3 day week ends - my reward for surviving June. Got lots accomplished - the lawn is mowed - YEAH!!! Got some of the house cleaned - and I got 3 cards made this week end - well the last one is still being finished.
The card tonight satisfies two challenges - it is a get well card for my brother - I heard on Monday night late he had triple by pass surgery - a little bit of a shock - but he is home and probably driving Ellie crazy - I thought I would send him a card - he likes to hunt so I know he will enjoy the subject matter. The card is based on the sketch at Taylored Expressions - I took a little liberty and moved the square to the other side and rotated the design. The second part of the the challenges was the challenge on Cuddlebug to make a masculine card.
Stamp - Cornish Heritage Farms
Paper - Junkitz
Cuddlebug Argyle embossing folder

Friday - Happy Dance

Whew Friday - I have been running my 30 day marathon at work and feel like I may live to talk about it. This week end feels like a relief - I have nothing scheduled for the week end - but have lots to do - I hope to get some work done and some playing with paper done. Have to reward my work time with play time. I plan on doing some remodeling so I need to go to the home improvement stores and look at things - I need to find paint, new carpet for my bedroom, new flooring for the bathroom and will most likely have to dig out the sewing machine and make drapes for the bedroom - I have a big patio door so I am sure I could make them much cheaper - need to do a little looking at my rod and see if I can make it work for the type I plan to make. I may even have to make the shower curtain and curtain in the bathroom - oh my goodness - that will be an entire week end of sewing or more. But at least it will be just straight sewing.
Well to the card - this is a special order - she saw my monkey card for a wedding last year and wanted one for her brother. I like how it turns out and she seemed to like it - I still need to do the inside for her. I based the card on the weekly sketch at 2 Sketches 4 You.
Stamp - Stampendous colored with Copics
Cuddlebug - hearts
Paper - My Mind's Eye
Ribbon - recycled
Letters - they are hiding - it is one of the paper companies Fiskar's had
Inked the edges with ColorBox Chalk ink
Everyone enjoy your evening and week end

Tonight's card is for my friend Shari. I send her a monkey card every week to hopefully put a smile on her face.

Sunday - Do I really need to go back to work?

A quick post tonight - my body is tired - I did a bunch of digging or reclamation of my flower garden today - and my body said - you sure did. I did get a couple cards made - this card was three different challenges combined. On a card site I hang out of - two challenges - dig deep - dug deep into the pink/brown drawer and then was to stamp with white craft ink and then color it after it dries - I chalked the butterfly. The last challenge was from Creative Corner - to use your border punches. I really like this border punch - as I said once - you would think the grocery store would be a safe place - but no - this is where I found this border punch.
Stamp - Inkadinkado
Stampin! Up Craft Ink
Chalk - All Nigh Media
Paper - scraps
I do need to work on the picture taking outside - no shadows from your ribbons. I will keep learning - I hope.
Have a wonderful evening.

Beatufiul Quote

No new cards to share tonight - work took all the creativity from my soul so I am just surfing blogs and maybe will go play with some paper for a little bit. I just saw this quote on my friend Ivanka's blog - I really like it -

Realize that true happiness lies within you. Waste no time and effort searching for peace and contentment and joy in the world outside. Remember that there is no happiness in having or in getting, but only in giving. Reach out. Share. Smile. Hug. Og Mandino

So reach out to someone, a friend - say HI, give a hug - they might need it and you will feel wonderful also. Every day when I drive to work - I drive down this one street - and there is this older gentleman out walking his black poodle - I always wave at him and he waves back - makes me feel good.

Have a wonderful evening.

Tuesday - why not Friday

Just peekin in - I wish it was Friday already - then it would be the week end and I could relax but it is Tuesday - so lots more work to do this week. It sure is a good thing I create on the week end or I would never have anything to post on my blog.
This is another monkey card for my friend Shari - love these monkey stickers - I believe they are Jolee's - and I found this great paper in my supplies - One Heart One Mind collection - and it was even my own design - no sketches for this. The stamp was Hero Arts.
Everyone have a wonderful evening. Off to see if I can create something - maybe I need to find a sketch to jump start something.
Enjoy your evening.

Quick post - going out to dinner tonight - and hopefully we will be able to sit on the deck at the restaurant.
Another owl card - I was practicing my coloring and had a couple images that would work - this is going to an online friend - just wanted to touch base with her and let her know she is always on my mind. The card is based on the weekly sketch on Taylored Expressions every Friday.

I took my pictures this morning and the sun was not shining - so by the time shines so nicely this afternoon - I already had my cards in envelopes and ready to go.
Once again - another owl card - this one is stamped and colored though. I combined a couple challenges for this one - the first challenge was from the Cuddlebug Challenge Site to use the Cuddlebug and Basic Grey - well since I have several containers full of Basic Grey - I decided I could so that challenge very easily. Owl Always be Your Friend

Owls are a popular image in the world of scrapbooking and cardmaking. Lots of owl images and lots of owl paper. I think I have bought a few of those - I have been practcing coloring a cute owl image (actually a couple) - haven't gotten them to the point where I want to make a card out of them. The owl in tonight's card is an iron on from Plaid - it is suppose to go on fabric but you can iron onto paper also - although -paper can scorch and stink a little - so be careful.
The card is based on the sketch at Card Patterns - a fun sketch. I hope you enjoy my take on this sketch.
Supplies
Paper is from Basic Grey
Letters - Basic Grey
I believe the ribbon is May Arts - but no label on it

Monkey Time

Time for the weekly monkey card - found this fun image in a file on my computer - and then you know - I know I have this paper that would be perfect - luckily I had just seen the scraps - so I kinda knew where they were - The papers are from Crate Paper - really old collection - but I have had some great creative fun with this paper.
Spent the afternoon shopping in Madison with an online paper friend. We had a good time and didn't do too much damage to our checkbooks but it was nice to be together and talk and shop. Now I want to make a card - let's see what I can come up with - need to figure out what cards I need - graduation, sympathy, wedding card, more monkey cards, hmmmmmmm - I had best get off this computer and get some creating done.

June - did someone say it was June???

I can't believe it is June already - before you know it it will be fall - I didn't say that did I - slap me. Busy day at work - tomorrow I am only working a half day and then heading to Madison to meet up with a cardmaking friend who is in town for a day while her husband attends a short conference - we will have lunch and do some shopping - and just talk lots. Of course, I do not need anything but I bet I don't come home empty handed - hopefully I can be somewhat frugal. There is always some new paper grouping that is calling my name. I do have a coupon for Archiver's - that could be dangerous.

My card for today is "a same image swap" on a site I hang out at - fun image but those were little frogs to color. I believe it may be a Penny Black image - but not for sure. The paper is Cosmo Cricket - Girl Friday Collection. Some Bazzill Scalloped paper for the base of the card. I used my Fiskar's border punch.

Well I have gotten one card made tonight - hopefully - the sun will shine on Wednesday so I can get a picture. Everyone enjoy the remainder of your evening - almost time for me to head to bed - trying to get some work in before the office opens - when it is quiet and no interruptions.
